The problem of image inpainting based on single image and its restoration is proposed. The distortion of images are rectification first dividing all images into different scene planar regions and dismisses the projective distortion, thus the visible information can be directly used. The new problem of image inpainting is how to use the wrapped images to repair reasonably the structure and texture information in the target part of the image. Then a new inpainting algorithm based on a pyramid approach to sub-pixel image fusion based on mutual information is applied to fill the holes. The experiment shows good and harmonious results for the repaired image. Our theory also develops the techniques of image fusion and makes it more practically.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131960870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the complex texture and uneven gray value of the land in optical remote sensing image, traditional sea-land segmentation algorithms often recognize land as sea incorrectly. A new segmentation scheme is presented in this paper to solve this problem. This scheme determines the threshold according to the adaptively established statistical model of the sea area, and removes the incorrectly classified land according to the difference of the variance in the statistical model between land and sea. Experimental results show our segmentation scheme has small computation complexity, and it has better performance and higher robustness compared to the traditional algorithms.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132122925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the method, the data registration is divided into two stages. In the first stage, each sample face will be registered with the selected reference face by the TPS based non-rigid registration method to obtain the primary data registration; in the second stage, the combination model is set up based on the first stage primarily registered multi-sample data. For each sample face, matched with the combination model a similar reference face will be generated to facilitate the accurate data registration by TPS registration. To eliminate the outliers of different face samples, countermeasures are adopted in both stages of the data registration. The experiments on the BJUT-3D face database show that our method is effective for the registration of 3D face and robust to the outliers of face data.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130027032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to overcome this shortcoming, a hybrid hierarchical bounding volume tree (HHBVT) algorithm based on VP is proposed. The HHBVT is divided into three layers in a top-down manner. The first layer uses bounding sphere, and both the second one and the third one use Axis-Aligned Bounding Boxes (AABB). But in the third layer, the twelve line segments of AABB are attached to a user-defined VP collision detector to check whether one object intersects with another or not. The experimental results demonstrate that not only the HHBVT algorithm based on VP makes up the shortcomings of collision detection algorithms in VP and optimizes the traditional collision detection algorithms, but also the accuracy and the real time of system are not affected.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130251741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key idea of this research is selecting competent color features, and combining them with background subtraction method. First of all, the features used to segment the image should have these characteristics that specifically, integrity and sensitivity. After multilateral research, the hue-intensity feature is extracted from HSI color space, and the regular which the color feature changes with time and the lighting density is researched. It solves the problem that reflecting correctly the difference of the similar objects, which is a challenge for the past method. For another thing, object detection approach should be robust extremely, in order to adapt to the situations that illumination changes, moving disturbances and so on. The background subtraction method is adopted to overcome these problems after selecting appropriate background model and the strategy that used to update the model. The experiment results demonstrated that the proposed method constructed dependable background model, and obtained the accurate target area no matter the difference between foreground and background is remarkable or unobvious.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134270001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study takes consideration the particulate nature of the blood. The red blood cell (RBC) is modeled as a closed membrane filled with a Newtonian fluid which has the same viscosity as the surrounding plasma. The cell membrane is described by a spring model so that the deformability of the cells can be considered. The discretization of the governing equations using the operator splitting technique and the finite element method is introduced.
