To obtain low power, low hardware cost and efficient area, optimization was performed at behavioral level modeling and register transfer level (RTL) design. A mathematical framework was presented to perform parameters optimization of different filters. The layout was designed based on SMIC 0.18 µ m process library. The verification results show that the chip achieves a signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 54.40dB. The chip area occupies 1.69mm2 and dissipates only 2.95mW power. Area and power are well satisfied with the separation point detection of MAVs' boundary layer.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128290975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, important features for visual saliency computation are identified by analysing the performance of all possible combinations of a set of common candidate features. Combination of intensity and orientation is found to be suitable for monochrome images. Principal component analysis (PCA) on selected features is also performed. Usage of only the first principal component of selected features achieves good performance and reduces feature channels to save computational resources to a great extent.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128682447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bandelets basis has been used for compression of geometrical images and image denoising. In this paper, bandelets basis are used for compressive imaging of natural images using benchmark and efficient l1 minimization algorithms. Conventional compressive sampling matrices would not be suitable to extract geometric information required for construction bandelets basis. In this work, a so-called regular point sampling matrix is used to find out the geometric regularity of images. The experimental results on a set of natural images show that natural images can be reconstructed by using bandelet basis with higher PSNR and good visual quality. The bandelets based compressive sampling method outperformed conventional compressive imaging frameworks.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130588007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It's necessary to remove LiDAR's outliers before classifying LiDAR ground points. In this study, laser points' elevations are transformed into a histogram from 0 to 255 elevation scales. Then, the histogram is split by some thresholds with a multilevel segmentation algorithm. A small amount of higher or lower laser points, as they are located at the starting or ending part of the histogram, are filtered into Low Point (noise) class refer to point proportion threshold. In the next step, the algorithm creates an unclassified laser points KD tree and searches the number of points around each laser point in given querying radius. If the number is less than a given point number threshold after increasing search radius length several times, the point is treated as isolated point, i.e. Low Point (noise) class. In experiments, it is shown that this filtering algorithm is reliable in filtering LiDAR's outliers.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130674463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The color score is a qualitative measure estimated by radiologists, and its high subjectiveness may lead to error. Although the strain ratio is a quantitative method, the region selected to calculate the value is subjective and its accuracy is still quite low. A new effective, accurate, and quantitative metric using computer aided diagnosis (CAD) techniques is proposed in this paper. The statistical features and texture features are extracted from the lesion region on the elastogram. The important and reliable features are selected by using Minimum-Redundancy-Maximum-Relevance (mRMR) algorithm. The selected features were input to the SVM to classify the thyroid nodules. The experiment results confirm that the method is more accurate and robust than color score and strain ratio.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125371815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, an effective color image interpolation method is proposed, which extends the classical bicubic convolution interpolation. Our improvement includes: considering the correlation between color channels; giving a new method of color edge detection and a novel scheme estimating the missing pixels. The proposed method can well preserve the edges and textures, and noticeably suppress common artifacts such as blurring, blocking and aliasing in interpolated images. The experimental results demonstrate that it outperforms significantly the bicubic interpolation in terms of both objective and subjective measures.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123170356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, a non-iterative algorithm operating at multiple time-harmonic frequencies is used to find such points of inclusion and generate a good initial guess. With this guess, a level set strategy is applied to retrieve the complete shape of the unknown thin inclusion. The approaches proposed here are in line with recent investigations as described in [5], [7]. Numerical simulations will exhibit that this algorithm performs satisfactorily even with the presence of a moderate quantity of random noise on the data.","PeriodicalId":301048,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"2006 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121624288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
