In the Germanic languages, compounding has become extremely productive (Müller, 2015). As opposed to studies in other Old Germanic languages, compounding in Old Frisian (OFr) has not been investigated in full. Unlike in the neighbouring languages, only a small number of OFr lexemes is present in the most comprehensive book on Old Germanic nominal compounds (Carr, 1939). The semantic field of kinship terms includes basic concepts reflected in the lexis of a language. A lot of OFr kinship terms are compounds. The questions posed in this paper are what compounding models are used to build up OFr kinship terms: (1) in terms of the Sanskrit classification, (2) in terms of parts of speech used as the constituents, (3) in terms of the semantic connection between the constituents. In order to do that, compound structures are split into constituents and then formally analyzed. Statistical analysis reflects the productivity of compounding patterns and the balance between the trends. Thereafter, the formal data are compared to the semantic patterns identified within the compounds. The end goal is to assess the degree of the interconnection between the morphological and semantic levels. In the 1960s, he was considered as left-wing Nietzschean metaphysician in France. In the 1980s and 1990s – after being translated – Deleuze became influential in the Anglo-Saxon world, mainly in the field of literary theory. At the beginning of the 21st century, such thinkers as Zizek, Sokal, Badiou and Descombes discussed fundamental topics with the French coryphée. The book of Baranova, Junutytė and Duoblienė marks a new step in the reception of Deleuze, turning to the Eastern part of Europe. In his works, Deleuze discusses main philosophers of the western tradition such as Leibniz, Nietzsche, Kant, Spinoza, Bergson and others. On the other hand, he is a great reader of literature: Proust, Sacher Masoch, and Kafka. Deleuze found in Guattari an intellectual friend and co-writer for a lot of books. Deleuze’s main philosophical project can be summarized as an inversion of the traditional metaphysical relationship between identity and difference. In this sense, he inscribes himself in the tradition of French deconstructionism that reflects on Heidegger’s Identität und Differenz. Traditionally, the difference is seen as a declination of identity. For Deleuze, on the contrary, identity is the result of differences. Pirmiausia nagrinėjama koreliacijos problema Husserlio ir Schelerio frenomenologijoje, paskui – vaizduotės samprata Schelerio filosofijoje ir galiausiai – vaizduotės samprata Sezemano estetikoje. Scheleris pabrėžė dvasinės veiklos koreliatyvų sąrysį su pasauliu. Vaizduotės sampratą jis susiejo su praktiniu buvimu pasaulyje. Sezemano estetikoje taip pat buvo svarstomas įkūnytos vaizduotės vaidmuo meninėje kūryboje ir estetinių objektų suvokime. Abu autoriai teigė, kad vaizduotės sąrysį su esminiais pasaulio duoties būdais užtikrina kūniskasis vaizduotės pobūdis. Abu pripažino, kad vaizduotė yra susijusi su nesąmoningais troskimais ir vara. Abu autoriai teigė, kad vaizduotės schematizmai isreiskia pasaulio suvokimo stilių. Scheleris pažymėjo, kad vaizduotė atskleidžia esminius fenomenų raiskos aspektus ir taip grindžia abstrakcijų galimybe. Sezemanas sią teze isplėtojo ir analizavo abstrahavimo vaidmenį ir simbolių-schemų sudarymą kūrybiniame vaizduotės procese. {"title":"Cross-cultural Conceptualization of the Financial and Economic Crisis in the Media: the force Metaphor","authors":"Jurga Cibulskienė","doi":"10.15823/ZZ.2017.22","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15823/ZZ.2017.22","url":null,"abstract":"Merging Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) with Cognitive Linguistics (CL) has brought new perspectives to analysing social reality (Van Dijk, 2001; Musolff 2004; CharterisBlack, 2005; Hart, 2010). Accordingly, this paper adopts Critical Metaphor Analysis as first suggested by Charteris-Black (2005, 2014) and seeks to investigate a social phenomenon – the financial and economic crisis – in Lithuanian and British media. The aim of the research is to analyse to what extent the media in the UK and Lithuania conceptualize differently the financial and economic crisis via the force metaphor. The paper explains the force metaphor by employing the Force-Dynamics System (Talmy, 2000), according to which a crisis is conceptualized following the patterns crisis as the agonist and crisis as the antagonist� The findings demonstrate that the pattern of the crisis as the agonist with the scenarios of aggression, affecting something or somebody, natural force, loss, suffering and resistance prevails in both discourses. The pattern of the crisis as the antagonist with such scenarios as causing crisis, fighting against crisis, overcoming crisis falls behind.
