Three optimization techniques were developed, namely Dolphin Echolocation (DE), Fast Evolutionary Programming (FEP) and Classical Evolutionary Programming (CEP). These techniques had been incorporated into the sizing process to maximize the Performance Ratio (PR) of the system by determining the optimal PV modules, charge controllers, inverters, and batteries. The results showed that DE outperformed FEP and CEP in producing the highest PR.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126481287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As numerous models of system components are commercially available, the selection of optimal components has frequently become tedious and time consuming for system designers. Hence, optimization methods are regularly incorporated in the sizing algorithm for such system. This paper presents the introduction of dolphin echolocation for sizing a photovoltaic system. The optimal combination of inverter and PV module was chosen such that the system's net present value was correspondingly optimized. The results showed that the Dolphin Echolocation Algorithm-based sizing algorithm had outperformed sizing algorithms using selected computational intelligence, i.e. Evolutionary Programming, Firefly Algorithm and Cuckoo Search in producing the lowest elapsed time and highest net present value.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129084658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The OSA diagnosis method most of them use Polysomnography (PSG), apply to sleep disorder or sleep apnea or epilepsy, is a common standard biomedical signal processing. If do not active treatment, may be subject to sleepiness suffers accident, harm to cause death. There may be angina or myocardial infarction or stroke or sudden death during sleep. The risk of chronic diseases is more than doubled. PSG is the patient sleeping in the hospital one night, body paste multiple devices, with Electroencephalography, Electromyography, Electrocardiography, etc. But PSG is costly, complicated, time-consuming and has site limitations. Therefore, low-cost, easy to operate, the open-ended diagnostic system is designed, using computer, webcam, smartphone, microphone, pressure sensor combination of the system. The purpose of this study was to complete a simple diagnostic OSA system, but it cannot replace the PSG, just hope for early detection and treatment of OSA. This system can be applied to sleep quality observation and long-term care. Give users a comfortable, convenient and simple application environment.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121173721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most common barcodes is QR code, which its appearance, black and white modules, is not visually pleasing. The QR code is applied to product packaging and campaign promotion in the market. There are more and more stores using QR code for transaction payment. If the QR code is altered or illegally duplicated, it will endanger the information security of users. Therefore, the study uses infrared watermarking to embed the infrared QR code information into the explicit QR code to strengthen the anti-counterfeiting features. The explicit graphic QR code is produced by data hiding with error diffusion in this study. With the optical characteristics of K, one of the four printed ink colors CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), only K can be rendered in infrared. Hence, we use the infrared watermarking to embed the implicit QR code information into the explicit graphic QR code. General QR code reader may be used to interpret explicit graphic QR code information. As for implicit QR code, it needs the infrared detector to extract its implicit QR code information. If the QR code is illegally copied, it will not show the hidden second QR code under infrared detection. In this study, infrared watermark hidden in the graphic QR code can enhance not only the aesthetics of QR code, but also the anti-counterfeiting feature. It can also be applied to printing related fields, such as security documents, banknotes, etc. in the future.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123544795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The faster technologies develop, product application and changes in the market become more obvious. In addition to emphasizing the aesthetics of product modeling and the application of function technology, it has become the core of design trend for enterprises searching for value-added design models from the accumulation of user experience and applying design strategies to reinforce the competitive advantage of the product. In addition to finding out and solving problems in the design process, a designer, in the face of the integration of various design elements and users' physical and mental adaptation, needs an effective mechanism and a systematic design strategy to discuss the effect of users' behavioral experience on product design as well as the evaluation of perceived product use. For this reason, this study aims to discuss how to match needs and reduce the gap of user experience through the feedback of user experience at the beginning of design to effectively help designers experiencing needs, digging out problems, and proceeding design with correct directions. Four steps are proceeding in this study. (1) To record and calculate user experience, expected experience, and demand expectation through interview survey. (2) To record the interaction process of users using products with observation method and to break down the steps. (3) To record the advantages and shortcomings of user experience in the product use process and to classify the evaluation. (4) To compare the psychological factors before and after use with questionnaire survey and to discuss the correlation between user experience gap (disappointment) and user needs for products (expectation), with users' behavioral observation records and users' product satisfaction survey, to further develop the design direction.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115544597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The combinational shuffling arrangement of the new QW plate is composed of two different QW slabs that are made of non-magnetic dielectric materials A and B, respectively characterized by dielectric constants εrA and εrB which abide by the relation (εrA)2 = εrB > 1 in order to minimize reflection from structures. Slab A and slab B are in theory uniformly sliced into N+1 and N pieces, or vice versa. They are then respectively shuffled into two different structures: A(BA)N and B(AB)N that are numerically proved to function as QW plates. When compared with the traditional anti-reflection coating techniques, the newly proposed structures have the advantages that every component of each type of material is identical in thickness and that they are easy to assemble. The idea of the proposed structures is numerically supported by the simulation results obtained through the application of the method of characteristics (MOC). The wavelength of interest is set to 550 nm corresponding to the visible color yellow light. The numerical results demonstrated are in both time and frequency domains exhibiting the proposed structures function as anti-reflective plates.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133996868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the rapid increase of network attacks and network speeds, multi-string matching faces higher performance and throughput challenges. In order to improve the performance and throughput of multi-string matching, this paper presents a hierarchical parallelism that accelerates multi-string matching on multiple GPUs. The hierarchical parallelism consists of three layers of parallelism. From top to bottom, the first layer is the data parallelism on multiple GPUs, the second layer is the task parallelism on a single GPU, and the last layer is the data parallelism of the Aho-Corasick algorithm. Experimental results show that the hierarchical parallelism on a machine featured with four Titan X GPUs achieves up to 70 Gbps of throughput, more than 40 times faster than the Aho-Corasick algorithm used in Snort. As the number of GPUs increases, the throughput of the hierarchical parallelism will increase. In addition, the proposed approach adopts perfect hashing to construct state machines and achieves up to 99.2% of memory reduction on Snort. Finally, the proposed hierarchical parallelism is implemented in the open source network intrusion detection system, Snort.","PeriodicalId":300510,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Applied System Invention (ICASI)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127312307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
