Many people have lost their lives and properties through the road transportation, hence the researcher tried to look into the problem of the road transport in Nigeria. In the western word the train is more popular compared to the use of vehicles to convey human beings and goods. The road traffic accident statistic from 1990 – 2012 was recorded in 2013, by the road safety commission. The researcher used the descriptive survey research design to carry out this study. The data was illustrated using histogram to demonstrate the rate of accident on Nigerian road showing fatal, serious, minor, killed and injured. Solutions were provided by the researcher on how to overcome the problem on Nigeria road. By providing rail way transport, because rail way transport has no records of accident.","PeriodicalId":300357,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Vocational and Technical Education Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124595735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The case study research design and qualitative methodology were used in the study. Convenience sampling was used to select fifty (50) stakeholders, including fifteen (15) tutors from Bagabaga College of Education, five (5) staff members from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), fifteen (15) tutors from Tamale College of Education, and fifteen (15) employees from the Sagnarigu Municipal Education Office in Tamale. The tool utilized to gather information for the research question created for the study was an interview. The study's findings revealed that the majority of the study's participants felt that wearing a uniform fosters equality, unity, and makes student teachers from various socioeconomic backgrounds same, as well as eliminating bullying and gang activity in colleges. Based on the research, it was suggested that each academic year, student teachers should attend orientation to learn about the uniform policy at the colleges of education and to understand that wearing a school uniform does not belittle them as tertiary students. In order to execute a standard policy at the colleges, college administration must be adaptable. If a unified policy is implemented, it must be assessed to determine whether it is effective.","PeriodicalId":300357,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Vocational and Technical Education Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129552738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It investigated the impact of imported used-Western woodcraft on the style, technology, and finishing adaptation for local woodcraft production in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolitan area. It also explored the hands-on skills improvement and job creation opportunities for the woodcraft artisans and professionals in Sekondi-Takoradi.The analytical method was adopted to analyze the data using a purposive sampling technique. The primary information was acquired through interviews, interaction, observation, and field surveys, while secondary information was obtained from literary sources.The results showed that woodcraft producers in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis had embraced the western concepts and philosophies embedded in their International Standard Order (ISO) for the growing western taste of their prospective local patrons.The paper concludes that Sekondi-Takoradi is fortune with imported used-Western woodcrafts that have influenced the style, technology, and finishes of the locally made woodcraft. It also aims to expose the health, safety, and environmental measures associated with the practices of these great trades. The methodology involves the use of descriptive and experiential methods. The study employed a descriptive method because the tools, equipment, materials and techniques required for these trades needed to be exposed and appreciated. Experiential method was adopted because the researchers were exploring a new merger. The qualitative technique was engaged as the research centred on information obtained from sculptors, caterers, sculpture and catering trainees, vendors and patrons of sculpture and catering products. Primary information was acquired through interaction and observation, while secondary information was obtained from literary materials. This paper resolves that sculpture and catering as trade have working tools, equipment, materials, techniques, and safety practices worthy of embracing. The study concludes that sculpture and catering have a strong relationship in their practice and processes. The research recommends that sculpture and catering trades have common practices, processes and safety measures since the same or similar tools, equipment, materials and techniques are employed in their trades/practices. It can be said that Sculpture and Catering symbiosis as a trade of equals is real and possible.","PeriodicalId":300357,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Vocational and Technical Education Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125857986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The popularity of ABU goes beyond Nigeria and West Africa. It is among the three first generation universities in Nigeria. It has a Faculty of Education which is generally concerned with teacher education in the university. Under it, there is a section that is primarily concerned with Vocational Teacher Education in the university. It was observed that, the vocational teacher education in the university follows some strategies in the process of delivery these include; theoretical aspects of the training which is done through various courses offered in the departments and general education, this use to be accompanied by Teaching Practice (TP), Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), Industrial Attachment, Field Trip and Practical. The vocational teacher education is run by two departments viz; Business Studies, Vocational and Technical Education and Home Economics. The Programme in the university is faced with some challenges which include; problem of funding, learning facilities, shortage of qualified vocational education lecturers, poor public perception and apathy, low information and technology compliance curriculum. It is therefore suggested that, Ahmadu Bello University should supply adequate resources to the technical and vocational education unit of the university. alongside with a budgetary allocation to the sector in order to cater for its recurrent expenditure in the training processes. The curriculum taught in other vocational education sector should be reviewed to meet the demands of the labour market as done by the Home Economics unit and be able to incorporate computer competence.","PeriodicalId":300357,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Vocational and Technical Education Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133050916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
