Imbalanced data points lead to overfitting for the majority class while overlapped classes cause misclassification for both classes. Hence, this combination makes it challenging for classic machine learning algorithms to define a decision boundary between minority and majority classes. In our study, different algorithms with different techniques have been compared for example oversampling, undersampling, combined over and under sampling, and the ensemble methods to deal with class imbalance along with class overlapping. Two well-known highly imbalanced and overlapped medical datasets are used to compare the performance of different approaches and performance is evaluated by sensitivity and specificity. On the sleep apnea dataset, oversampling combined with ensemble classifier AdaBoost with the specificity and sensitivity of 0.72 and 0.46 which proved better than other techniques and classifiers. On the diabetes dataset, SMOTE-TOMEK oversampling combined with the Random Forrest classifier with the specificity and sensitivity of 0.91 and 0.77 proved to be better than all the combinations that have been tried for the classification with minimal number of features.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123819681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are several applications domain of Industrial Internet of things. In the upcoming smart and secure societies, a large portion of infrastructure is relied on Industrial Control System (ICS). Among all the energy sector is perhaps the most demanding one on the use of IOT based control systems for the potential and explicit applications like smart grid, Intelligent Transportation systems, e-health etc. To achieve the mentioned applications in IIOT at low energy, different methods have been proposed for energy harvested industrial control systems. Among them RF energy harvesting techniques have been thoroughly researched and studied. Unfortunately, RF energy harvesting has severe drawback of consuming enough energy particularly at the switching side. To overcome the drawback, we have proposed a novel method of design of a Bi-stable MEMS RF switch (Bimorph clamped) for RF energy harvesting in industrial informatics and automation. The proposed system has been designed and simulated using Comsol Multiphysics and ef43ws succeeds between 1.5-3.0 V output voltage for operating frequency at 1.9 and 2.45 GHz from RF input power at -20 dBm with revealing approximately 100% improvement over other existing designs.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123841646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the primary circuit blocks of the light to frequency converter include the transimpedance amplifier-TIA, a low dropout regulator an integrator and a pulse generator. The noise optimisation scheme in this work exploits a new methodology to control the jitter noise in the driver-circuit of the TIA. The study involves both the mathematical and the simulation analysis to prove the theory suggested. Jitter noise performance of the design was perceived through periodic steady state analysis (PSS) and periodic noise analysis (Pnoise). An outstanding mutual agreement between the mathematical analysis and the obtained waveform results was seen throughout the study. RMS Jitter noise behavior was focused and pitched from the periodic phase noise waveforms obtained during the analysis. The conversion of the phase noise into the jitter and the effect of spur jitter on the RMS jitter is exclusively discussed in this study. The design requires a 3.3 V supply voltage and an initial input current of 125pA. The CMOS transistor level implementation of the design was simulated with 40nm SMIC technology node in cadence Virtuoso IC-615.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128437865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed structure contains CdSe with direct band gap of 1.74eV as top cell and GaAs with direct band gap of 1.42eV as bottom cell. The top cell contains the photovoltaic absorption layer with a band gap larger than bottom solar cell. It has been observed that there is increase in photocurrent by increasing in the optical path length where electron hole pairs are produced as more photons have chances to get absorbed, results in increasing the efficiency of the solar cell. There is a significant improvement in parameters like, short circuit current density Isc, the open circuit voltage Voc, the fill factor FF and the Conversion efficiency has been observed in comparison to conventional structure. The power conversion efficiency of solar cell increases by 31.4%, short circuit current increases by 19.9%, open circuit voltage by 5.7%, Fill factor by 4.87%.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"6 12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126839965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lung cancer can be discovered early with computed tomography (CT) imaging. To detect and classify lung nodules and their malignancy levels, Computer Tomography (CT) scans were used on lung patients. Since nodules vary widely in size, shape, and texture, detecting them is a difficult task. Moreover, there are other structures in the lungs that are considered to be non-nodules, for example vessels, fibrosis, diffusive diseases, which often resemble nodules in appearance. Therefore, proposed an end-to-end architecture to recognize nodules from three-dimensional CT volume by modified UNet segmentation and CNN based classification on readily available Lung Image Database Consortium – Image Database Resource Initiative (LIDC-IDRI), virtuously self-governing Indian Lung CT Image Database (ILCID) and LNDb Challenge Dataset. According to the results obtained with the proposed method, nodules can be reliably detected and segmented in contrast to the existing lung segmentation, classification and detection algorithms. For nodule segmentation, attained a Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) value is about 0.89 and for nodule detection, achieved the Sensitivity of 98.53%.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130165846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The air sacs that are present in the lungs gets inflamed and it will be filled with a fluid. The bacteria and viruses are mainly responsible for causing pneumonia. Cough, Fever, Shortness of breath are the important symptoms of Pneumonia. The focus of this proposed work is to look at the variables that increases the risk of pneumonia-related mortality in young infants. It can be diagnosed by using the chest x-rays. Since a result establishing an autonomous system for identifying pneumonia would be advantageous as it might save many lives and aid in the prevention, cure and control. We utilize the efficacy of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models to categorize the abnormal and normal x-rays. Detection of mammographically occult breast cancer is a trivial process due to hidden tumours in women with dense breasts. Data augmentation techniques are in demand due to existing paucity in the dash images that are labeled. In this brief, a model for the detection of mammographically occult breast cancer is developed with pix2pix Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) as in imperative tool for data augmentation. In this work, GANs are used to construct transformations of original images in the dataset. The U-net based of CNN layers is used to preserve long-range connections in wide neighbourhoods to provide a balanced partitioning. For the cancer detection, this model can be used as an individual layer in a Convolutional neural network (CNN). Upon comparison with transfer learning approach, the proposed approach has higher accuracy for two VGG-16 and Resnet-50 CNNs.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115297872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prospective antenna structure is a rectangular patch antenna with four slots etched on the radiator and active elements introduced in the diagonal slots. Furthermore, a defective ground structure (DGS) is introduced resulting in improved impedance bandwidth and a gain of 5.47 dB is achieved. The E-plane which corresponds to radiation exhibits the characteristics of directional radiation pattern while the H-plane showcases an omnidirectional pattern. The results exhibit that the designed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 1.54 GHz and a high gain of 5.47 dB. The antenna is designed using the High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS).","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114691322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This can help address the demand for a cheaper, simpler, and low power alternative to fully adaptive antennas. We use simulations to consider the effect of the number of elements on the beam-forming and steering capabilities of an ESPAR antenna with a single ring of parasitic elements. Our results validated well against published results and provide the best possible gain over the parasitic element loads considered. It was also found that at least three parasitic elements are required to achieve a reasonably high maximum gain and deep nulls. Based on our results, a 10-element ESPAR offers the most continuous and uniform steering. In addition to smart low power applications, this advantage may be translated into improving the accuracy of triangulation for positioning, localisation, and navigation applications with ESPAR antennas.","PeriodicalId":300301,"journal":{"name":"2022 5th International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT)","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127054074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
