This study, which constitutes the first of two articles devoted to the subject, investigates the foundation of this dogmatic datum in two sources of revelation: the Holy Scripture and the recent teachings of the magisterium. O estudo esta dividido em duas partes. A primeira descreve a estrutura da Exortacao, entrevendo ali as principais motivacoes de Francisco para escrever sobre o tema do chamado a santidade. A segunda parte e mais longa e atem-se ao elemento tido como articulador das reflexoes da Exortacao: a reposta que o cristianismo oferece as aspiracoes do ser humano atual por felicidade. So many clues show that the earth’s climate has abruptly altered by works of influential human behavior. In an attempt to help understand and respond to this great challenge, sustainability is considered as a minimizing element of this aggression. This is a central issue today. In order to create a new perspective for education, it is important to articulate education and sustainability in the awareness of environmental education. After observing that Dom Helder cared for the holiness of the “human family”, maintaining friendships with “saints of the earth” and “saints of heaven”, and showing that, throughout his spiritual development, his understanding of holiness had matured. Then, the text points to some of the main characteristics of the holiness of the Servant of God and of the Poors, namely, a holiness understood as that of the “shepherd living with the smell of the sheeps”, with “spirit of Vatican II”, with “prophetic boldness”, with “intense mysticism” and “commitment to the liberation of the poor”. O texto se divide em tres partes: a primeira parte apresenta o testemunho de santidade dos sete bispos romenos da Igreja Greco-Catolica, mortos in odium fidei em diversos lugares da Romenia, durante os anos 1950-1970, por resistirem as ideologias marxistas, leninistas e estalinistas. A segunda parte oferece uma abordagem sobre a santidade e responsabilidade publica com repercussao na vida eclesial e a refutacao das heresias, tendo como base a experiencia dos grandes Padres da Igreja e ascetas do deserto. A terceira parte apresenta reflexoes sobre o dinamismo da santidade na vida crista e seu reflexo na sociedade. Inicia-se apresentando a importância do encontro para que exista comunicacao entre Deus e o ser humano, pois, segundo Bruno Forte, Deus e encontro. Apos, a palavra e o meio pela qual Deus, que e a palavra, se comunica com o ser humano no silencio. Por fim, o lugar privilegiado para o encontro com Deus e o silencio. Deus, que tambem e silencio, esta presente no silenciar humano. Nesse encontro, o silencio de Deus vai ao encontro do silencio do ser humano e se torna presenca a partir da palavra de seu Filho, Jesus Cristo. O titulo corresponde as primeiras palavras do versiculo conclusivo do discurso das bem-aventurancas (Mt 5,12). Nessa passagem, diz o Papa, “esta delineado o rosto do Mestre, que somos chamados a deixar transparecer no dia a dia da nossa vida” (GE 63). Em cinco breves capitulos, o texto procura motivar toda a Igreja, para que “se dedique a promover o desejo da santidade” (GE 177).
