To accomplish such goals, new antennas compatible with 5G technology are necessary. Patch antennas, being made of resistant and cheap materials, easy to mass-produce and low profile, represent a solid candidate for deployment in a 5G scenario. This paper aims to serve as a comprehensive guide for designing an antenna using microstrip technology, oriented to provide 5G services. This paper proposes a top-down approach, explaining first the general concepts and orienting the study towards more specific subjects. The topics discussed are the underlying technologies of 5G, patch antennas, circular polarization and array theory. Each topic provides an explanation of its fundamental principles, with an approach intended to be comprehensive instead of technical, and focusing towards giving practical design considerations for a 5G-oriented antenna.","PeriodicalId":299985,"journal":{"name":"EAI Endorsed Trans. The first is traffic-related performance targets like reducing packet loss, reducing end-to-end delay etc. Additionally, there are efficiency-related goals, such as a balance of traffic allocation through usable bandwidth resources. The performance goals associated with traffic are set to reach the contracted level of services and offer customer’s competitive services. All communication through this link is disrupted if a network connection is not established. Techniques to improve the effects of hardware-failure, networks have been used to replenish the traffic from the failed link to other working connections. The main theme of this paper is to develop methods and tools that study and evaluate Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and MPLS-Traffic Engineering schemes. These schemes are presented in order to improve the network performance in terms of resource utilization, delay and reliability. The simulations were performed in OPNET Modeler 14.5.","PeriodicalId":299985,"journal":{"name":"EAI Endorsed Trans. Mob. Commun. However, with a large base station (BS) antenna, the non-square channel matrix restricts the zero-forcing (ZF) precoder rotations to obtain the best optimal solution with the per-antenna power allocation. In this paper, we propose the beamforming and lattice reduction (LR) approach to restrain the channel matrix and transform the lattice of the channel vectors to be near orthogonal. Numerical results show that the LR-based ZF precoder outperforms other ZF precoder schemes, such as, the norm approximation of the beamforming matrix. In particular, the sum rate of the proposed optimal ZF precoder requires a small number of BS antenna. Subsequently, with the strong line of sight (LoS) channel, the optimal power allocations in the subchannels depend on the dominance of the users in order to achieve substantial multiplexing and diversity gains. Specifically, the Ricean channel gain with the water-filling allocation at high SNR is non-negligible. Therefore, the topology frequently changes and high communication overhead for exchanging a new topology information has been introduced. Due to the huge enrichment by the video data based on the quality of experience recognized by the driver and knowledge of the environment , video transmission over VANETs has been considered as a critical challenge. Context-aware vehicular ad-hoc network is a novel field that introduces developed solutions for the previous challenges in VANETs and guarantees the stability of its topology through different high mobility of nodes. In this paper, we investigated the general issues related to VANETs such as characteristics, applications, and current challenges. Furthermore, we reviewed the most significant relevant studies that apply a context-aware issue as a new technique in vehicular networks that helps to overcome VANETs challenges.","PeriodicalId":299985,"journal":{"name":"EAI Endorsed Trans. This intelligently avoids interference amongst users and provides the ability to use up all available bandwidth on the RF spectrum. There are many ways in which the communication can be demonstrated. This paper examines how we have implemented a cognitive radio network testbed using software defined radios (SDRs) for multimedia communications, where components that have been traditionally implemented in hardware are instead implemented by means of software on a personal computer or embedded system to communicate and transfer a file between each other. We attempt to demonstrate potential use of SDRs for future multimedia applications.","PeriodicalId":299985,"journal":{"name":"EAI Endorsed Trans. Mob. Commun. It is easier to implement a wireless system. Because of the barriers in implementing wired system wireless system is much effective than wired. But the wireless system has also some problems or deficits. One of them is data loss during the transmission due to various causes like surrounding environmental reason and others. If signal is lost the receiver will remain completely blind as it is not receiving the signal. Another one can be the receiver is unable to receive signal due to the technical fault of receiver end whether the transmitted signal is stable. Especially these issues rise in case of wireless control. That is why an acknowledgement system is necessary to determine whether the receiver is receiving the transmitted signal or not. The developed system is an effective system with nRF24L01Plus transceiver module and Arduino Uno.","PeriodicalId":299985,"journal":{"name":"EAI Endorsed Trans. Mob. Commun. The goal of this research is to determine if the lifetime of the network can be prolongated by using less energy and thus, resulting in a more energy efficient ‘greener’ architecture. A total of 72 unique simulations are conducted of various configurations covering a large variety of possible scenarios: we examined configurations with a different number of nodes, number of traffic flows, mobility model, transmission power and geographical areas. Results show that there is an optimal transmission power, which enhances greater network performance: moreover, this optimal transmission setting makes the network more energy efficient in terms of depletion of the finite energy sources of the nodes. Our overall findings also confirm that higher transmission power results in less energy consumption","PeriodicalId":299985,"journal":{"name":"EAI Endorsed Trans. Mob. Commun. It was found that bad signal may lead to decrease in network link speed but increase in power consumption; whereas good signal contributed to rapid transmission and low power consumption. To reduce the power consumption and prolong the battery life, through combination with the original IEEE 802.11 PS mechanism, an optimization mechanism based on RSSI-awareness was proposed which aggregated network packets and delayed transmission. In essence, the proposed mechanism functioned through decreasing the number of mode switches of Wi-Fi component and extending the time of Wi-Fi stay in the Power-Save (PS) mode. Specifically, the signal strength was divided into three levels, including \"good\", \"weak\" or \"bad\". The decision tree was used to choose the best transmission method (Normal / Lineral / Exporational Transmission) according to previous and current signal strength. Algorithms were introduced to select the best split of decision tree for partitioning specific records into smaller subsets. Finally, the proposed mechanism was performed on the TI pandaboard platform. The results indicated that the proposed mechanism was practical and able to reduce the power consumption of smartphones in an effective manner. One of the key 5G technologies that would address the increase in mobile traffic is network densification, poses a challenge to group communication. With group communication, several groups are formed into clusters and this technique promises to improve various services in 5G network technology by way of efficient management. As a result, this paper proposes a 5G-enabled software defined multicast networks (5G-SDMNs), where software-defined networking (SDN) is exploited to dynamically manage multicast groups in 5G and mobile multicast environment. Also, mobile edge computing (MEC) is exploited to strengthen network control of 5G-SDMN. The combination of SDN and MEC ensures a flexible, cheap, programmable, and manageable network architecture is proposed for 5G-SDMN. This architecture promises a simplified network management, an improved resource management and a sustainable network development.
