Each user is assumed to be equipped with a single antenna. For max(M<sub>1</sub>, M<sub>2</sub>) ≤ min(N<sub>1</sub>, N<sub>2</sub>), the sum DoF is shown to be upper bounded by N<sub>1</sub>(M<sub>1</sub>N<sub>2</sub> - M<sub>1</sub>M<sub>2</sub>) + N<sub>2</sub>(M<sub>2</sub>N<sub>1</sub>-M<sub>1</sub>M<sub>2</sub>)/N<sub>1</sub>N<sub>2</sub>-M<sub>1</sub>M<sub>2</sub> and lower bounded by N<sub>1</sub>N<sub>2</sub>(M<sub>1</sub>+M<sub>2</sub>)/max(M<sub>1</sub> N<sub>2</sub>, M<sub>2</sub>N<sub>1</sub>)+N<sub>1</sub>N<sub>2</sub>. The results characterize the optimal sum DoF if M<sub>1</sub>N<sub>2</sub> = M<sub>2</sub>N<sub>1</sub> and further characterize the asymptotically optimal sum DoF when both N<sub>1</sub> and N<sub>2</sub> tend to infinity. Specifically, the optimal sum DoF converges to M<sub>1</sub> +M<sub>2</sub> as N<sub>1</sub> and N<sub>2</sub> tend to infinity.","PeriodicalId":299228,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC)","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124696479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If the interference signal is induced on a GNSS receiver, the GNSS receiver will malfunction by the interference signal. In the point of national infrastructure, the protection of the GNSS signal becomes more important. For preventing the interference effects, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute(ETRI) developed GPS signal interference mitigation equipment. However, the interference problem is also occurred since same frequency bands are used both the terrestrial radio system in a spot beam cell and the Earth stations in adjacent spot beams. Because the interference situation would be worse at the border area of the spot beam cell, the exclusion area concept is adopted to reduce the interference at the border area but it makes the degradation of the spectral efficiency by limiting the possible sub-bands used by the terrestrial radio system. This paper considers the optimum size of the exclusion area taking into account of both interference and spectral efficiency in the frequency sharing scenario. The study results show the variation of the interference and spectral efficiency with the widths of the exclusion area. The simulation is performed in the S band with the bandwidth of each sub-band is 5 MHz and frequency reuse factor, 7.","PeriodicalId":299228,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125042402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the conventional WSN where sensor nodes are powered by a small battery with finite amount of energy, reducing energy consumption of sensor nodes is of primary importance. On the contrary, in the WSN with RFET, since energy can be continuously supplied to sensor nodes, reducing energy consumption is not an important issue. However, in the WSN with RFET, the energy harvesting rate of each sensor node depends on its location, which causes the unbalanced available energy among sensor nodes. Hence, to improve the performance of the WSN with RFET, it is important to develop network protocols considering this property. In this paper, we study this issue with jointly considering routing, scheduling, and power control in the WSN with RFET. We obtain a solution for joint routing, scheduling, and power control considering unbalanced energy harvesting rates among sensor nodes, and show that our solution can improve network performance significantly.","PeriodicalId":299228,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130170739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The accuracy of LPR system widely depends on two parts; namely license plate detection (LPD) and LPCS. Different country has different types and shapes of LPs are available. Based on character position on LP, we can find two types of LPs over the world, single row (SR) and double rows (DR) LP. Most of the LPCS methods are generally used for SRLP. This paper proposed a novel LPCS method for SR and DR types of LPs. Experimental results shows the real-time effectiveness of our proposed method. The accuracy of our proposed LPCS method is 99.05% and the average computational time is 27ms which is higher than other existing methods.","PeriodicalId":299228,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130279179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this approach, we design a cloud to receive frontal facial images to reconstruct a corresponding 3D depth map from clients that can be smartphones, computers or any other Wi-Fi supported handsets through Wi-Fi connection. The depth map and texture are then transferred back to the sending client through the configured Wi-Fi connection. This setting makes applications light-weight, portable and fast-executive to be able to install on limited specification devices. We first change the hello message format of AODV so that it can contain the list of recently forwarded destination, hop count, and sequence number. The nodes that receive this hello message decide whether they change the next hop to the destination or not by comparing the hop count and sequence number in their routing table to those in the received hello message. We compare the performance of DRCA with original AODV routing protocol and a comparable scheme, called Shrink, through extensive simulations using ns-3. We show that DRCA outperforms AODV and Shrink in PDR, average delay, and the number of transmissions at MAC layer.","PeriodicalId":299228,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127776124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
