Therefore, it becomes imperative that the intra-device resources are put to productive use by offloading the jobs to a remote location for execution. However, in those settings where the network infrastructure is either expensive or inconvenient to use, the traditional cloud would be beyond reachability. This gave rise to the novel “on-the-fly” forms of computing that enables a computation environment closest to the user like a Mobile Ad-hoc Cloud (MAC). Nevertheless, by following this strategy there are more complex unprecedented problems such as constant device movements, disruptions in the external device to name a few that needs to be addressed. Hence, this paper draws attention to the task scheduling process in an MAC. We propose a linear Programming based model to minimize the number of devices participating in an ad-hoc cloud composition by delineating major constraints. In doing so, it is our endeavor to provide a faster ad-hoc cloud composition formation, which leads to quicker task execution in an MAC.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123133790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Proposed configuration reduces total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output voltage and therefore, enhances the fundamental output power. Here the sinusoidal pulse width signals are generated and synchronized to avoid commutation problems, occurred in matrix converter. The comparative analysis of matrix converter without and with proposed filter at the load end are compared. The simulation results of the proposed converter circuit are verified through MATLAB/SIMULINK.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130140736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The frequency reconfiguration is achieved due to the change of current distribution on the ground plane of microstrip slot antenna. Thus, RF PIN Diode is used as switching device to change slot length for altering current distribution on the ground plane. Two rectangular slots of total size 260 mm2 are cut on the ground plane for positioning PIN diodes. The proposed reconfigurable antenna is designed to reconfigure in twelve number of frequency bands between frequency 2 GHz and 6.28 GHz. Here all the simulated radiation patterns and return loss graphs are acceptable for microwave applications. Moreover, the frequency reconfigurable antenna presented here reduces the size of front end system and also able to offer pre-filtering at receiving end.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125671446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is trained on a Wikipedia-based dataset consisting of URLs of Wikipedia articles. The important words (keywords) which consist of both bigrams and unigrams are extracted and stored in a dictionary along with many other components of the knowledge base. We have used Inverse Document Frequency (IDF) measure for ranking the extracted keywords and Context-Based Similarity approach using Paradigmatic Relation discovery techniques for generation of distractors. In addition, the question generation phase includes eliminating sentences starting with Discourse Connectives to avoid a question with incomplete information. We have obtained significant accuracy compared to many similar approaches. The results are quite promising considering that there is no human intervention. The task of automatic question generation can be of quite an importance in MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), Intelligent Tutoring Systems and for self-assessment while learning a new concept. Though we have developed our system for the field of physics, it can be extended to any field.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126990067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In locked-in syndrome, the patient cannot move any of his voluntary muscles except the eyes. Taking this into consideration, the proposed system is designed to detect the face and pupil of the patient through a standard webcam using Haar cascade classifiers and Circular Hough Transform algorithm respectively. The proposed system displays different images of daily activities. The patient will have to look at an image for a period above a pre-decided threshold time in order to select it. Subsequently, the system will track the point of gaze of the patient and will select the image accordingly after a confirmation from the patient. Based on this confirmation, the aide will be notified via text or audio. Successful implementation of the system will help the paralytic patient to easily communicate his needs to the aide.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133154039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stability is an important measure to rank such concepts. However, in relation to similarity, stability is measured by a crisp computation. In this paper, a new Game Theory based technique is proposed to compute relatively stable concepts with high similarity. It is shown that the new proposed method can also be extended to multidimensional patterns.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115483422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is widely believed that optical switching technologies have shown great promise in terms of bandwidth offerings and consume far less energy per bit compared to its electronic counterpart. In this paper, we characterize energy consumption of multi-mode routers that support electronic packet switching, optical burst switching and optical circuit switching on the same platform. Two models, namely, Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) and Micro-Electro-Mechanical systems (MEMS), are applied to multi-mode routers. Simulations are performed using the ns-2 tool. Energy consumption per bit of different switching technologies is compared, and results show that optical packet switching has the highest energy consumption. Also the power consumption of AWG optical switches and MEMS optical switch in both blocking and non-blocking modes is compared.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124626776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have developed and presented RESAR (Robust, Efficient, Scalable, Autonomous, Reliable) storage, an approach to storage system redundancy that only uses XOR-based parity and employs a graph to lay out data and parity [5]. Here we add to our prior work by giving a proof of our analytic results for RESAR reliability. There are many routing criterias such as hop count, the quality of link, congestion, and interference that help in choosing the best route available in wireless networks. The various random changes in the wireless network cannot be assessed by any one routing parameter to provide us with an optimum route. Integrating multiple metrics and using an amalgamation of these calculated values from multiple parameters provides a better output while estimating the optimum route. In this paper, a geographic location based routing parameter called Dynamic Transport Throughput (DTT) is presented which utilizes geographic location information of nodes and channel usage statistics, thereby improving the routing performance at each hop. The network simulator (ns2) is extended to support the channel usage functionality. The Location Aided Spectrum Aware Routing (LASAR) protocol which uses DTT metric is simulated using this extended version of ns2. Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector (DSDV), Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), and Ad-hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) are widely known protocols. Simulation results obtained using LASAR protocol are compared with these protocols. The simulation proves that when the LASAR protocol uses the proposed DTT metric it shows improved results than the current protocols.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"15 13","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132939897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is evaluated using 3D stereo-radiographic reconstruction from the biplanar x-rays. The combined stereo-corresponding point and geometric (CSCPG) reconstruction algorithm is used for this purpose. The CSCPG reconstruction requires six stereo-corresponding landmarks per vertebra to be identified on the biplanar x-rays. Currently, these landmarks are semi automatically identified. In this paper, the landmark identification procedure is automated and the effect of automated procedures on the accuracy of 3D reconstruction is analyzed. The statistical significance test is performed to compare the accuracies of these reconstructions. The benefits of automated procedure are twofold. It is able to give better reconstruction accuracy and at the same time it also reduces observer variability.","PeriodicalId":299147,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Communication Systems, Computing and IT Applications (CSCITA)","volume":"43 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132286913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
