In this paper, a 10 kV, 478 W, 250 GHz gyrotron with efficiency near 40% and pitch ratio of 1.5 was designed through linear and nonlinear numerical analysis and Vsim particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation. Vsim is a highly efficient parallel PIC code, but it has seldom been used to carry out electron beam wave interaction simulations of gyro-devices. The setting up of the parameters required for the Vsim simulations of the gyrotron is presented. The results of Vsim simulations agree well with that of nonlinear numerical calculation.","PeriodicalId":298643,"journal":{"name":"2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126759553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the dual stepped-impedance rectangular-rings resonator, the bandpass filter with dual passbands can be realized. In order to obtain wide dual passbands, the high-impedance coupled lines are adopted for input and output ports to enhance the coupling. Moreover, with the assistance of open stubs added to the central transmission line, the harmonics can be suppressed and a wide stopband can be generated. An exemplary bandpass filter, operated at 2.5 and 7.25 GHz as the central frequencies, is fabricated, and both the corresponding 3-dB absolute bandwidths are the same as 1.5 GHz. In addition, the measured stopband can be extended to 13.8 GHz with the rejection level of 32 dB.","PeriodicalId":298643,"journal":{"name":"2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116453929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The suggested emulator uses only one universal software radio peripheral (USRP) to generate multiple heterogeneous signals more easily and economically. Also, the physical and media access control (MAC) parameters can be adjusted in real-time using LabViewprogram, thereby making it possible to create various time-varying interference environments easily. As an example showing the capability of suggested emulator, multiple interference signals consisting of a frequency-hopping RFID signal and two LoRa signals with different spreading factors were generated. The generated signals were confirmed in both frequency- and time-domains.","PeriodicalId":298643,"journal":{"name":"2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"484 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122745804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce the supply noise induced jitter, the package design is enhanced at the power distributed networks (PDNs) in layout design phase. The enhancements are reduction at power supply parasitic inductance and isolation at cross-power domains. Through the proposed methodology, the supply noise induced jitter is reduced 800% at the output eye-diagram of 28 Gbps high speed serial link, compared with the design without PDNs enhancement, and also without package manufacturing cost increment.","PeriodicalId":298643,"journal":{"name":"2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114271861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
