The origin of this devastating health condition could be traced to the Antonine Plague also known as Plague of Galen, which occurred between 165 – 180AD in Rome, where up to five million people were believed to have been killed by either smallpox or measles. In the recent time, developing countries including Nigeria’s economy have been set backward by pandemics, the last of it is the COVID-19 pandemic, which was argued in this paper to have been intentionally manufactured in the lab for defined objectives. Africa is among the prime target destination, but unfortunately, it did not happen as planned. The paper therefore, seeks to understand what was behind the survival of Nigerians in the midst of the pandemic and the justification for the vaccination. The study adopted the phenomenological and exploratory designs and our arguments were hinged on the propositions of the Social Theory of pandemic. Data were from the primary and secondary sources and were analysed using content analysis. The study concluded that the uncommon spread and low death rate in Nigeria and Africa is as a result of our natural body defense and ecological factors. So, it was recommended that indigenous critical stakeholders in the health sector should be engaged to source for local vaccine while we put a stop to the administration of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine or make it a matter of choice based on the uncommon spread and reports of blood clot.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127294947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Applicants who met admission requirements in the Senior Secondary School Certificate by acquiring the requisite five credits or its equivalent are seen as potential University undergraduate students. Candidates who score the required cut off points in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) are presumed to be proficient of pursuing chosen courses of study effectively in the University. This study investigated the relationship between University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), assessment and the first-year academic performance of 2016/2017 students in Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research was used as the research design to find the analytical predictive legitimacy and validity of University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the students’ academic performance. The population of 1500 students were admitted into the University within the 2016/2017 academic session and a stratified and purposive random sampling technique was used to collect data from a sample of 360 students from selected Departments of the Faculties of Arts, Science and Social Sciences. A self- developed pro-forma invoice was used to collect student’s UTME scores along with Grade Point Average (CGPA) for the first year. A correlation analysis was used to establish the relationship between UTME scores and First session examination results of students. The validity index of the research instrument was determined and two hypotheses were formulated and a regression analysis used to determine the relationship between UTME scores and the CGPA in Federal University of Lafia. While the CGPA was the criterion variable, the UTME scores was the predictor variable. The results revealed that students’ UTME scores do not essentially imply their genuine scores or intellectual ability. This was confirmed by the weak relationships revealed by students’ scores in UTME and the corresponding CGPA at the end of the first year. The study recommends that a more vigorous post-UTME screening to sieve the candidates before the candidates is offered admission. The JAMB also needs to monitor more effectively the examination management process to safeguard any form of manipulations of results given the fact that the computer-based process can also be compromised by desperate stakeholders.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121882471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Now, in several (though not all) domains, China seeks to subvert these long-standing arrangements and prevent the emergence of new ones, in order to broaden its scope for action. It has also started to propose new arrangements under Chinese diplomatic leadership, starting to seek a role as an ordering power. In response, the United States and its Western allies must adapt their strategies. That does not mean refusing to cooperate with China in areas of common interest (for example, nonproliferation); but in most domains, the United States must not just look to the leading democracies but also to a wider constellation of states willing to act in defense of the core purposes of the order.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127678258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The essence of their separation is to avoid fusion of powers among the three arms so as to ensure checks and balances that guarantee good governance in the country. Using a qualitative study which is based on a historical analytical descriptive approach that revolves around a combination of historical literature where both secondary and primary sources of data were utilized, to arrive at logical findings, the study argued that, the Nigerian judiciary which has been described by certain scholars as the last hope of a common man and also the bastion of democracy is saddle with the responsibility of interpreting the laws as well as determining and resolving dispute between individuals on one hand, and between states and other levels of government on the other hand. But regrettably, right from the military regime up to the present-day democratic experiment in Nigeria, the judiciary has been deeply abashed or embroiled with corrupt practices of various degrees. The paper is therefore, tailored towards examining not only the causes of corruption in Nigeria’s judicial system but also the implications of corruption on our justice system. The paper finally canvases for total over hauling of the judiciary system for optimal performance of the sector in order to rekindle the lost confidence of Nigerians on the justice ministry or sector.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128476004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two hundred (200) selected bank employees of which 101 (51%) were males, while 89 (45%) were females. Participants’ mean age was 20.73 with a standard deviation of 4.782 and the age ranges from 16-50 years. The study made use of a survey research design and employed a structured questionnaire as a means of data collection. The hypotheses formulated were tested using an independent sample t-test and multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study revealed a significant effect of perceived organizational support on organizational commitment (t=-2.603; df =198; p<. 05). Also, the result shows that job satisfaction influences organizational commitment (t=-4.639; df =198; p<. 05). More so, result explains there was a significant gender difference on organizational commitment (t= 4.732; df =198; p<. 05). Lastly, it is indicated that socio-demographic variables independently and jointly predicted organizational commitment [F(3,84) =7.369, p<. 05]. In view of these findings, the study concluded that perceived organizational support and job satisfaction, and of course socio-demographic variables have effect on organizational commitment. Consequently, the study recommended organizational support and job satisfaction system should be more encouraged in order to foster commitment among the workforce, and of course strive for diversity workforce.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129422933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

No country was left untouched by the pandemic as even in Nigeria, businesses activities were reduced by at least 50%, putting an estimated 26.42 million employees at risk of losing their jobs. Thus, this study focused at Covid-19 pandemic and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria vis-à-vis business tragedy and opportunities at a glance. An exploratory design approach was adopted and data collected mainly from secondary sources especially qualitative from a theoretical perspective of existing literatures. The findings revealed that there were two categories of goods in the market: essential and non-essential goods. It was also discovered that while businesses and economies were hit hard negatively worldwide, especially aviation, service and the tourism industries, there were some sectors that had phenomenal results such as online conferencing applications, e-Commerce, online food retailing, pickup and delivery services, robotics, pharmaceutical, and the gaming industries, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as they saw upsurge in sales and revenues. Several emerging entrepreneurial opportunities were also recognized and recommended for entrepreneurs to take advantage of and make profit, providing what is really essential in these hard times.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114295361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This was done to look at Nigeria's stock market and economic growth from 1984 to 2020. The analysis relied on secondary data. The Central Bank of Nigeria statistical bulletin for 2021 presented data on stock turnover ratio, stock market capitalization ratio, total value of shares exchanged ratio, all share index, and GDP. Granger causality, Augmented Dickey Fuller Unit root test, Johansen cointegration test, and error correction model were used to analyze the data. Granger causality was shown. There is no reverse causality between stock market development metrics such as stock market capitalization ratio, turnover ratio, or total value of shares exchanged ratio and economic growth. All share index, stock market capitalization ratio, turnover ratio, and economic growth were integrated of order 1, while total value of shares traded ratio was integrated of order zero, according to unit root test results. The Johansen cointegration test showed that the All-Share Index, Stock Market Capitalization Ratio, Turnover Ratio, and Economic Growth all have four cointegrating relationships. Changes in the all-share index have a positive and significant impact on changes in economic growth, whereas changes in the stock market capitalization ratio and its lag have a negative but insignificant impact on changes in economic growth (p>0.05). Changes in the turnover ratio have a positive but insignificant impact on changes in economic growth (p>0.05), while its lag has a negative but insignificant impact on changes in economic growth (p>0.05). Changes in lagged GDP have a positive and important effect on changes in economic present-period growth (p0.01), and economic growth and the independent variables in our model have a long-run relationship as indicated by the negative and statistically significant error correction term in the model (p<0.01). Based on the results, the study recommends that the Federal Government intervene through the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON)/Ministry of Finance Incorporated, that more indigenous quotable companies be encouraged to pursue listing by offering incentives such as tax holidays, tax rebates, and other incentives, and that stock broking firms be encouraged to join forces, either through mergers or outright acquisition amongst other recommendations.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"1928 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130137812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Interactions and conflicts among ethnic groups in Nigeria to a great extent influence and determine in varying degrees the nature and course of development. There is no gainsaying that ethno-religious conflicts in Nigeria are products of the country’s amalgamation in 1914. Using the descriptive method of data analysis, the paper argues that political conflicts in Nigeria stem from issues such as resource sharing, electoral and leadership crisis among other issues and has devastating effect on development in the country. The paper is anchored on the instrumentalist theory and recommended that the federal government needs to articulate a medium through which the various ethnic groups can be heard. Equity should be considered in handling the affairs of the various ethnic groups, government should design more programmes to tackle poverty, government should reduce the use of military force in quelling crisis and the judiciary should be given adequate power to adjudicate ethnic matters.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131017256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Psychiatric clients were recorded among the psychiatric cases in the clinic in federal medical centre, Keffi. The cardinal objective of the study is to investigate the prevalence of psychiatric disorders and ways to curtail incidences of psychosocial disorders in the mental behaviour process of the clients under examination. The current states of disturbance of psychiatric patient clinic were characterized by schizophrenia disorder, anxiety disorder, depression disorder, alcoholic, antisocial personality disorder and mental illness and violent crime behaviour. Clinical depression and bipolar disorder were characterized by profoundly sad mood, overwhelming feelings of self-blame, guilt, and worthlessness, appetite disturbance in a recurrent thought of death or suicide. The study revealed that the effective prevalence and treatment for psychiatric clients will enhance management of the psychosocial disorder and the recovering of health well- being of the psychiatric patient’s clinic. The study concluded and recommends that the psychiatric disorders and violent crime were assessed through medical examination and national registers with reported incident psychotic symptoms. The pattern of inner experience and behaviour of violent crime is a significant health problem causing severe medical and social problems, considerable human suffering a huge economic cost. The prevalence of crime rates may supply more information about criminal behaviour than crime registers because of the high rate of unregistered less severe violent crime and therefore underestimate the psychiatric disorders and criminal behaviour.","PeriodicalId":298423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Global Politics, Governance and Management","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127478349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
