We establish Littlewood-Paley charaterizations of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and Besov spaces in Euclidean spaces using several square functions defined via the spherical average, the ball average, the Bochner-Riesz means and some other well-known operators. We provide a simple proof so that we are able to extend and improve many results published in recent papers.","PeriodicalId":29763,"journal":{"name":"Analysis in Theory and Applications","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74261853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we give a survey on the Hill-type formula and its applications. Moreover, we generalize the Hill-type formula for linear Hamiltonian systems and Sturm-Liouville systems with any self-adjoint boundary conditions, which include the standard Neumann, Dirichlet and periodic boundary conditions. The Hill-type formula connects the infinite determinant of the Hessian of the action functional with the determinant of matrices which depend on the monodromy matrix and boundary conditions. Further, based on the Hill-type formula, we derive the Krein-type trace formula. As applications, we give nontrivial estimations for the eigenvalue problem and the relative Morse index.","PeriodicalId":29763,"journal":{"name":"Analysis in Theory and Applications","volume":"77 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80300396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some discussions also touch on the full 3 dimensional equations. Two results, closing of the scaling gap for ASNS and vanishing of homogeneous D solutions in 3 dimensional slabs will be described in more detail. In the addendum, two new results in the 3rd category will also be presented, which are generalizations of recently published results by the author and coauthors.","PeriodicalId":29763,"journal":{"name":"Analysis in Theory and Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2021-01-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80795029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
