PGPR is an environmentally friendly solution for biological control of leaf spot disease. This research aims to obtain bacterial isolates from the rhizosphere of oil palm plants which have the potential as biological agents to control fungal leaf spot diseases in eggplant plants. The research was carried out using 10 treatments, namely giving 9 samples of different bacterial isolates and 1 control and repeated 2 times, bringing the total to 20 plant samples. The results showed that there were 4 bacterial isolates from the rhizosphere of oil palm plants that had great potential to inhibit the growth of leaf spot fungi, namely isolate R5 (99.35%), isolate R2 (98.1%), isolate R6 (94.69%) and isolate R10 (94.29%). The bacterial isolates that were able to reduce the percentage of disease attacks compared to the first week of observation to the fourth week were isolates R4, R2 and R10, with a reduction in the percentage of disease attacks respectively of 15.15%, 7.14% and 1.98%. Based on the data, it can be seen that the R2 bacterial isolate is an isolate that has the potential to inhibit fungal isolates and reduce the percentage of leaf spot disease attacks on eggplant plants.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"27 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140512939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rice is the staple food of Indonesian people, the shortage of which can result in complications for the country. In connection with this food security issue, it is necessary to make efforts to prevent food shortages. The national production capacity of rice must be increased. The long-term goal is to increase the productivity of rice plants to support Indonesia towards rice self-sufficiency. This study has a short-term objective, namely, to determine the effect of potassium fertilizer and to obtain the best dose on the growth and production of rice plants. This was a factorial experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors: the KCl fertilizer dosage and the frequency of fertilizer application. The results showed that the best treatment was with a potassium fertilizer dosage of 150 kg ha-1 with a frequency of 2-time fertilizer application.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133141305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research on the application of biochar and resistance of oil palm seedlings to drought stress was conducted to determine the dosing effect of oil palm shell biochar and watering intervals on the growth of pre-nursery oil palm seedlings under drought stress. The research was conducted in Sialang Godang Village, Bandar Petalangan District, Pelalawan District, Riau Province. The study was conducted in April 2021 – July 2021. The research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was using biochar doses of 5 levels, namely 0 g, 50 g, 100 g, 150 g, and 200 g. The second factor was the watering interval which consisted of 3 groups, i.e.,, watering once a day, every two days, and every three days. Observational data were analyzed using an analysis of variance, and if there was a significant difference, it was continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The results showed that giving biochar at a dose of 200 grams of oil palm shells and watering once every two days significantly increased the fresh weight of roots while providing biochar at a dose of 50 grams of biochar/polybag and watering once every three days significantly increased the dry weight of roots. Watering once every three days significantly increased the number of secondary and tertiary roots, while treatment without biochar and 50 gram/polybag biochar significantly increased the width of stomatal openings. There was a positive correlation between soil moisture content and the number of stomata (r = 0.26), the width of the opening of the stomata, and the dry weight of the roots (r = 0.25).","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123674821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Kampar Regency is known for producing river fish, which the residents of Kampar and Pekanbaru consume. If this refuse is not correctly managed, it can pollute the environment. This refuse can be converted into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) due to its ability to improve soil fertility and shallot plant growth. This study aimed to determine the effect of interaction and the primary optimization of the growth and yield of shallots on ultisol soil by administering POC derived from the fish refuse of the Kampar River. The investigation was conducted in the experimental garden of the Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru, Faculty of Agriculture. The research employed a wholly random design with two factors. The first factor consisted of four levels of concentration of river fish waste (0, 22,5, 45, 67.5, and 90 ml-1) and the second factor consisted of four levels of frequency of river fish waste (1, 2, 3, 4 times). The data were analyzed and the BNJ Advanced Test was administered at a 5% confidence level. The results indicated that the interaction and main effects were significant for plant height, number of leaves, age of tuber formation, number of tubers, wet tuber weight and dried tuber weight, with the optimal treatment consisting of 67.5 – 90 ml-1 applied three to four times.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115475677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the obstacles found in the moringa nursery is the attack of snail pests (Achatina fulica Fer.). Pest control which is currently mostly carried out using synthetic chemical pesticides can have a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, an alternative pest control is needed, namely using vegetable pesticides from forest betel nut (Piper aduncum Linn.). This study aims to obtain the effective concentration of betel nut extract in controlling snails. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden Technical Implementation Unit, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The research was conducted in January 2023 - May 2023. Testing the frequency of spraying forest betel leaf extract against snail pests, used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications to obtain 16 experimental units. The treatment was without spraying forest betel extract, spraying intervals of forest betel extract 1 × 1 week, 1 × 2 weeks and 1 × 3 weeks. Based on the observations, spraying forest betel leaf extract once a week is the best frequency because it can cause 100% mortality with an initial death time of 18.75 hours after application, Lethal Time 50 191.25 hours after application, and an attack intensity of 4.35%.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126171829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
