Bagworms, a major pest affecting oil palm plants, cause significant harm to leaves and decrease plant productivity. These caterpillars can rapidly reproduce and spread extensively if not effectively managed. Sipermetrin and Dimehipo are two types of insecticides utilized to combat bagworm pests on oil palm plants. This study employs a descriptive analysis approach, involving the collection of primary data through field observations and pest censuses, as well as secondary data from previous pest censuses within the company. Data collection was conducted meticulously to ensure precision and relevance to actual field conditions. The objective of this study is to assess the extent of bagworm pest infestation and evaluate the efficacy of Sipermetrin and Dimehipo insecticides in controlling these pests on oil palm plants at PT Plantations in Umada Pernantian \"A\", Marbau sub-district, North Labuhan Batu Regency. The findings of the study revealed that the application of Sipermetrin was more successful in managing bagworm pests compared to Dimehipo. The mortality rate of bagworm pests with Sipermetrin usage ranged from 80-90%, while with Dimehipo, it only reached 40-50%. Therefore, Sipermetrin has demonstrated greater efficiency in controlling bagworm populations and preserving the health of oil palm plants, offering a superior solution to the pest issue in these plantations.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"30 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141802541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cucumis sativus plants originate in the Asian continent, specifically in North and South Asia. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the development and yield of cucumber plants, focusing particularly on the impact of varying doses of organic fertilizer derived from liquid coffee grounds. Specifically, the study seeks to assess the effects of these treatments on plant height, time to flowering, time to harvest, and the weight of the fruit produced by cucumber plants. This study was conducted within the idyllic housing complex from March to May 2024. The research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with a single factor. The dosage parameters for coffee grounds fertilizer are as follows: P0 serves as the control group, P1 involves a dosage of 25 ml per plant, P2 utilizes a dosage of 50 ml per plant, and P3 applies a dosage of 75 ml per plant. The findings indicated that the various fertilizer treatments had a noteworthy impact on plant height, flowering age, harvest time, and fruit weight, suggesting a significant interaction between the two variables. Applying 75 ml of coffee grounds fertilizer per cucumber plant yields the best outcomes in promoting increased plant height, earlier flowering, shortened harvest time, and greater fruit weight in cucumber plants.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"90 15","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141818719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to assess the preservation and development of Gayam in the Conservation Garden Area of Postgraduate Science Education at Bengkulu University. The study employed a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach, utilizing primary and secondary data collection methods. The analysis involved examining the growth rate of Gayam seedlings, environmental conditions, and factors influencing preservation. The findings revealed that Gayam has the potential for widespread distribution in Indonesia, with various local names. However, Gayam does not dominate at the seedling stage, making seed preservation crucial. The characteristics of Gayam, including its crown, stem, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds, define this plant. Preservation success is influenced by factors such as moisture content, temperature, storage medium, and light intensity. The observations of light intensity in the conservation area indicated favorable conditions for photosynthesis. To maintain Gayam seedlings, watering, fertilizing, and pest control are necessary. The use of both organic and inorganic fertilizers, as well as organic pesticides, supports the growth of the seedlings. A comprehensive understanding of these aspects is essential for enhancing the preservation and potential expansion of Gayam in the Bengkulu University Master of Science Education Conservation Area. This research contributes significantly to biodiversity conservation efforts and the sustainability of tropical ecosystems in Indonesia, particularly through the preservation of Gayam plants, which play important ecological, economic, and social roles.","PeriodicalId":296594,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL AGRONOMI TANAMAN TROPIKA (JUATIKA)","volume":"18 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140512755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
