It uses a kernel function to transform data from input space into a high-dimensional feature space in which it searches for a separating hyperplane. SVM aims to maximise the generalisation ability that depends on the empirical risk and the complexity of the machine. SVM has been widely adopted in real-world applications including speech recognition. In this paper, an empirical comparison of kernel selection for SVM were used and discussed to achieve performance on text-independent speaker identification using the TIMIT corpus. We were focused on SVM trained using linear, polynomial and radial basis function (RBF) kernels. Results showed that the best performance had been achieved by using polynomial kernel and reported a speaker identification rate equal to 82.47%.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. Digit. For example, there are some noises and poor contrast in the MR images. These shortcomings would affect the efficiency of feature extraction or recognition later. To solve this problem, the paper proposes a synchronization algorithm of denoising and contrast enhancement. By constructing a differential equation of limited adaptive histogram equalization, the edge denoising and enhancement are completed with the improved PM model. The algorithm draws on the advantages of the two original models, and the practicality and accuracy are proved by the results of the experiments.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. Digit. The allocation and transport of carbon, water and nitrogen among metamers, as an emergent property, resulted from the strategy of local pressure equilibrium between adjacent neighbors using discrete pressure-flow kinetics which were found to be suitable to describe mass flow in discrete space. Simulation results show that the graph automata based parallel approach can deal with carbon transport and allocation effectively.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. Digit. This is quite a bottleneck for implementation. Normally, the filtered projection data is transferred frame by frame in serial. In this paper, a new backprojection algorithm is proposed. The algorithm uses data inside the Tam-Danielsson window and slightly more. When one filtered projection pixel data arrives, certain interpolation algorithm is used on the data and the dedicated volume is decided by the coordinate of the pixel data. Then the dedicated volume is updated by the interpolated data. The procedure repeats when the next filtered backprojection arrives. If the transfer rate is slow enough, then the real-time backprojection can be achieved. Experiment results are given. It can been seen that the image quality is satisfactory and the artifact is greatly refined.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. Digit. A novel speaker verification method based on Support Vector Data Description (SVDD) is proposed to remedy the defect of probability statistics model. To simplify the threshold value setting and improve the robustness and recognition accuracy of the verification system, traditional hard decision of SVDD is replaced by a new soft decision based on the sample acceptance rate to normalize the confidence scores to the value [0,1]. In experiment, speaker verification system based on SVDD and Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) are compared using different length of training speech; then the system performance based on SVDD is test introducing outlier samples in training process. Experiments show that SVDD can outperform GMM, and when the target samples are not sufficient, introducing outlier samples in SVDD training process can further improve system performance.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. In recent years, it is becoming one of the main study streams in Artificial Intelligence (AI). With selecting the size structure flexibly, eliminating the incompatibility between clustering results and priori knowledge, completing the clustering task effectively, cluster analysis based on GrC attracts great interest from domestic and foreign scholars. In this paper, starting from the development of GrC, firstly, the main newly achievements about clustering and GrC are researched and summarized. Secondly, principle of granularity in clustering, the effective clustering algorithms with the idea of granularity as well as their merits and faults are analyzed and evaluated from the point view of rough set, fuzzy sets and quotient space theories. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of handling high-dimensional complex massive data with combination of these theories is outlooked.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. Digit. The framework consists of a hierarchy of three levels. The low level represents human perception to external stimuli, where the Weber-Fechner Law-based human attention model is constructed to extract movie highlights. The middle level simulates human cognition to semantic, where semantic descriptors are modeled for automatic semantic annotation. The high level imitates human actions based on perception and cognition, where an integrated graph with content and contextual information is proposed for movie highlights correlation and recommendation. Moreover, three recommendation strategies are presented. The promising results of subjective and objective evaluation indicate that the proposed framework can make not only computers intelligently understand movie content, but also provide personalized service for movie highlights recommendation to effectively lead audiences to preview new movies in an individualized manner.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. First, original satellite cloud image is enhanced by gray transform. Second, in order to reduce the computation burden to segment the whole satellite cloud image, single threshold segmentation based on Bezier histogram is implemented to the original satellite cloud image. Some small unrelated cloud masses are discarded. Third, a second segmentation based on Bezier histogram is carried out to the first-segmented typhoon cloud image in order to completely separate true typhoon region into other non-typhoon regions. Box dimensions of all the regions in the second-segmented cloud image are computed. The region whose box dimension firstly arrives to the valley in the box dimension curve, which is drawn by all the box dimensions of second-segmented cloud image, is identified as true typhoon region. Forth, the second-segmented typhoon cloud image is expanded in order not to lose some important details. The second-segmented threshold is combined with Bezier histogram of expanded cloud image to determine the optimal third-segmented threshold. The third segmented cloud image should include most of important information of typhoon. Fifth, discrete stationary transform is implemented to curvature curve of Bezier histogram of the third-segmented cloud image. Multithreshold segmentation is implemented to the third segmented cloud image in stationary wavelet domain. Final segmented typhoon cloud image is obtained by selecting an optimal segmentation scale in stationary wavelet domain. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently segment the typhoon cloud series from the satellite cloud image. The new method is better than Olivo method and H.Q. method.","PeriodicalId":293875,"journal":{"name":"J. Digit.
