This work is motivated by the necessity to correct the deteriorated power factor caused by the increase of consumer electronic equipment. The APF is designed to compensate for the “non-active” power of the loads. The current compensation is based on the concept of non-active current. This definition permits the power factor to become unity, even under non-sinusoidal source voltage conditions, and balances the active power per phase. The paper presents the three-phase non-active current definition and the power system compensation, as well as the details of the control design. The APF is simulated as a non-active power compensator to validate the theory. The line current spectral test shows that the APF brings the electrical power system into compliance with the IEEE standard 519-1002.","PeriodicalId":292855,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114972033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The secret message detection capacities of these steganalysis methods are evaluated using stegoimages generated by typical data hiding algorithms. The evaluation of steganalysis methods is realized in terms of false negative and false positive error rates using 100 images. There isn’t any steganalysis that can detect presence of secret message in all type of stegoimages. Therefore, to realize a reliable analysis about a suspicious image, several steganalysis methods must be efficiently combined. In this paper, some considerations about steganalysis are provided using the results obtained of the comparison of steganalysis methods.","PeriodicalId":292855,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128405228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The survey included a total of 160 male water polo players, all members of University teams of Water polo. The sample from Juarez City consisted of 95 players (71.9% of target population) aged between 18 and 32 years, and the sample from Montenegro included 65 players (50% of target population) aged between 19 and 29 years. Trained and qualified anthropometrists performed the measurement under standardized experimental conditions and in accordance with the procedures described by the International Biological Program. They measured 23 anthropometric variables reflecting basic human body characteristic described by skeletal bone lengths (total leg length, total arm length, hand length, foot length, and height), breadths (hand at proximal phalanges, foot in metatarsal area, biacromial, biiliocristal, biepycondylar femur, biepycondyar humerus, and radio−ulnar wrist breadth), girths (chest, arm, forearm, thigh, and calf girth), skin fold thickness as a measure of subcutaneous adiposity (triceps, subscapular, axillary, calf, and abdominal skin fold thickness), and mass. Additionally, estimates of body mass index (BMU), body density, and percentage of body fat were calculated from the primary measures.","PeriodicalId":292855,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126693076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SOA allows the integration of legacy systems with new development applications and to create more flexible and adaptive applications. Also, it allows decreasing implementation and maintenance times. SOA uses Web Services technology as a solution for business applications integration. This paper introduces a service-oriented architecture for solving integration problems with legacy systems of inventory flow control on a sugar mill. Different levels of services of the proposed architecture are described. Also, a case of study is presented where the functionality of the proposed SOA is explained. Finally, we discuss the state of the art and we emphasize our contribution.","PeriodicalId":292855,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131599066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed scheme is an improved version of Zhu’s document protection scheme. In Zhu’s scheme, the render sequence is encoded, such that a predefined character of the render sequence is permuted by secret key. This permutation is then used as authentication code. Their scheme has two inconveniences for practical applications: The first one is that the file size of encoded document is considerably increased compared with the original one, the second one is that the structure of encoded render sequence is unnatural, and as consequence, it can be detected easily by third party and reverse engineering can be applied to tamper the document. To solve these problems, this paper propose a document authentication scheme, in which the encoded sequence is kept in its natural structure and the file size of the encoded document is not increased.","PeriodicalId":292855,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers","volume":"271 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122984127","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A special control vector is defined to redistribute the compute expensive between a network analysis and a parametric optimization. This redistribution permits the minimization of a computer time. The problem of the minimal-time network design can be formulated in this case as a classical problem of the optimal control for some functional minimization. The conception of the Lyapunov function of dynamic controllable system is used to analyze the principal characteristics of the design process. The analysis of the Lyapunov function and its time derivative gives a possibility to compare the different design strategies.","PeriodicalId":292855,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132906385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
