The presented approach is based on some well established research in the field and utilizes calibration patterns. The novelty of the presented method is the automatic detection of motion blur, that is common to the process of calibration based on moving the camera or the calibration object, especially under bad lighting conditions. The method allows for sub-pixel re-projection precision for cameras with perspective lenses and can be extended to omnidirectional cameras as well.","PeriodicalId":291570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies 2016","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122345761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the mobile application landscape is scattered and an application developer has to publish the software for several different platforms to be able to serve a majority of smartphone users. Therefore, a bunch of cross-development tools have been offered to simplify this workload. In this paper, we present an evaluation framework for comparing different cross-development tools. We use this framework to evaluate Adobe PhoneGap tool against native development in Android and Windows Phone platforms. The results of a case study reveal that while the cross-platform technique was easy to use, the appearance and usability of the app was mediocre at its best. The business impacts of these are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":291570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies 2016","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126401567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We used beacons - Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) transmitters - as a source of signal. Received signal strength (RSS) fluctuates over time and has negative effect on localization accuracy. To minimize the fluctuation of RSS, we used methods for aggregation of RSS and elimination of inaccurate transmitters. We combined those methods with our implementation of particle filter in the prototype for mobile devices.","PeriodicalId":291570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies 2016","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114191152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper introduces development of hybrid approach that addresses the issue of collecting large knowledgebase by fusing the thematic or focused crawling methodologies, with adaptive and semantic web concepts. Focused crawling ensures the goal directed search of data on the web, adaptive web environments establish proper content and link adaptation whilst semantic web inserts meaning to web documents from the sense of content and metadata. The thematic crawling process retrieved approximately 11,429 documents from 11,286 visited locations resulting in 9,807 database entries out of which 81 entries are classified as top ranked distributed in seven categories. On the next phase, a reasoning process was performed against the semantic ontology which comprised the top ranked documents as class individuals. Results indicated that retrieved relevant documents, together with assertions against class individuals from the ontology highly reflect the user browsing activities and intentions.","PeriodicalId":291570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies 2016","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114363421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rise of new application scenarios in recent years has required optimized methods to address knowledge extraction from huge amounts of data and to model highly complex systems. Our library implements the main state-of-the-art algorithms in the grammatical inference field (RPNI, EDSM, L*), redesigned through the OpenMP library for a parallel execution that drastically decreases execution times. To our best knowledge, it is also the first comprehensive library including a noise tolerance learning algorithm, such as Blue*, that significantly broadens the range of the potential application scenarios for grammar models. The modular design of our C++ library makes it an efficient and extensible framework for the design of further novel algorithms.","PeriodicalId":291570,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies 2016","volume":"34 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126071051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
