An adversary physically captures a node so that she can steal all the confidential information stored in it and can launch further attacks by deploying clones of a captured node. To achieve this she needs to gather useful information regarding the network before capturing a node. Hence, a node capture by an adversary depends on how quickly she is able to gather the information regarding the network and about the target node. In this paper we have proposed a model for the process of gathering information by an adversary. We have also found the expected amount of information an adversary have at an arbitrary time t. Using the above information we proposed the expected time of a node capture based on the strength of an adversary and the dynamicity of the network.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127478355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this model, the variable conductance of postsynaptic membrane of neuron dependence on the neurotransmitter-receptor binding activity is represented by ion sensitive field effect transistor (ISFET). ISFET is chosen as circuit analog because it has potential for on-chip circuit integration leading to the development of lab-on-chip system used in advanced wireless biotelemetry. This analog is incorporated into the famous Hodgkin-Huxley (H-H) model of neuron to substitute the variable Na+ conductance. Simulation is performed in MATLAB environment both for normal and pathologic states.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125318388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present endeavour, an enhanced gain annular ring antenna is designed by using several gain enhancement techniques such as stacking, introducing air gap and operating at higher order modes. Annular ring antenna has been chosen for size reduction and high gain. Annular ring antenna exited at higher order modes exhibit maximum power at angles other than 0°. Theoretical, simulated results and experimental observations are all in good agreement and showing an increase in gain.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115076150","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Now-a-days various DSP systems are implemented on a variety of programmable signal processors or on application specific VLSI chips. This paper presents the design of Adaptive Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter for moving target detection in various clutter conditions in Radar Receiver. The design uses pipelined COordinate Rotation DIgital Computer (CORDIC) unit and pipelined multiplier to get high system throughput and reduced latency in each of the pipelined stage. Saving area on silicon substrate is essential to the design of any pipelined CORDIC. The area reduction in proposed design can be achieved through optimization in the number of micro rotations. For better adaptation and performance of Adaptive Filters and to minimize quantization error, the numbers of iterations are also optimized.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123811551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inter wire parasitics i.e. mutual inductance and coupling capacitance are primary sources of crosstalk noise. In this paper, the optimization of coupling capacitance for delay and peak noise is carried out qualitatively. This optimization process is essential from the fact that propagation delay and peak noise in some cases show opposite behavior with change in coupling capacitance. For our study, two distributed RLC lines coupled inductively and capacitively are considered. A pair of interconnect lines each of 4mm length and terminated by capacitive load of 30 fF with varying capacitive and inductive couplings are simulated. The SPICE waveforms are generated for simultaneous switching of inputs at far end of lines. The simulation is carried out for 130nm, 1.5 V technology node. The width of driver PMOS and NMOS are taken as 70 µm and 35 µm respectively.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"301 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116328533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mel-frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) feature set is extracted using time-frequency analysis approach. Temporal energy subband cepstral coefficient (TESBCC) feature set is extracted using frequency time analysis approach. The verification system is built around the likelihood ratio test, using effective GMM for likelihood functions, a universal background model (UBM) for alternative speaker representation, and using a Bayesian adaptation to derive speaker models from UBM. Results reveal that the feature set extracted using frequency-time analysis approach performs significantly better compared to the feature set extracted using time-frequency analysis approach. This antenna is a transmission line structure with radiating wavenumber increasing from negative to positive values, providing backward to forward scanning capability as frequency increases. The antenna profile is designed based on microstrip technology using balanced composite right left handed transmission lines (CRLH TL) approach. The balanced CRLH TL is designed based on cascaded combination of inter digital capacitor (IDC) in series and vias to the ground plane at the bent stub ends in shunt. Bent stubs are used in each section for the purpose of miniaturization. Dispersion characteristics of CRLH TL shows the left handed region, right handed region and balanced design of composite right left handed metamaterial. The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna confirms the full scanability i.e. backfire-to-endfire scanning capability of the antenna. The frequency parameter and performance of the antenna are evaluated by full-wave electromagnetic simulator using Ansoft Designer and all frequency parameter and performance are verified by another full-wave electromagnetic simulator using IE3D.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131005281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a two stage technique, where in the first stage, textural features using gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) are computed for regions of interest (ROI)considered for each class. ROI act as ground truths for the classes. Ohta model (I1, I2, I3) is the colour model used for segmentation. Mean at inter pixel distance (IPD) 1 of I2 component was found to be the optimized textural feature for further segmentation. In the second stage, the feature matrix obtained is assumed to be the degraded version of the image labels and Markov random field model is employed to model the unknown image labels. The labels are estimated through maximum a posteriori estimation criterion using iterated conditional modes algorithm. The performance of the proposed approach is compared with that of using GLCM and Maximum Likelihood classifier and with the one which uses GLCM and MRF in RGB colour space. The proposed method is found to be better in terms of accuracy than the other two methods.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114651442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The asymmetric turbo codes performances are compared with symmetric counter part of the turbo code. With proper selection of weight configuration, the turbo code can show better results in both water fall region as well as error floor region simultaneously. So, in some cases asymmetric turbo code's performance is more nearer to Shannon limit than symmetric one. This paper includes the effect of different codec parameters (like no. of iteration, frame size, code-rate, and generator polynomial Structure & constraint length etc) on asymmetric turbo code and also explains its performance in comparison with symmetric turbo code. Although, the asymmetric turbo code of all combinations don't show better performance always. Here, we have evaluated the bit error rate (BER) performance using sub-optimal Log-MAP (Logarithmic Maximum-A-Posteriori) decoding algorithm under Additive White Noise (AWGN) channel. The simulation model was developed for AWGN case using MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":290448,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Devices and Communications (ICDeCom)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129776256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
