Drilling is the most commonly used machining process in fur iture industries. The surface characteristics and the damage free drilling a re significantly influenced by the machining parameters. The thrust force developed du ring drilling plays a major role in gaining the surface quality and minimizing the delamination tendency. In this study eighteen durability tests of tools for d ifferent values of the analyzed cutting parameters were carried out. Based on the obta ined results, the effect of cutting parameters of selected signals of axial force and cutting torque was found. Taler","doi":"10.7862/RM.2014.12","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.7862/RM.2014.12","url":null,"abstract":"The objective of the paper is to develop correlations for the Nusselt number Nu in terms of the friction factor ξ (Re) and also Reynolds number Re and Prandtl number Re, which is valid for transitional and fully developed turbulent flow. After solving the equations of conservation of momentum and the energy for turbulent flow in a circular tube subject to a uniform heat flux, the Nusselt number values were calculated for different values of Reynolds and Prandtl numbers. Then, the form of the correlation Nu = f (Re, Pr) was selected which approximates the results obtained in the following ranges of Reynolds and Prandtl numbers: 2300 ≤ Re ≤ 1000000, 0.1 ≤ Pr ≤ 1000. The form of the correlation was selected in such a way that for the Reynolds number equals to Re=2300, i.e. at the point of transition from laminar to transitional flow the Nusselt number should change continuously. Unknown coefficients x1, ..., xn appearing in the heat transfer correlation expressing the Nusselt number as a function of the Reynolds number and Prandtl number were determined by the method of least squares. Kubit","doi":"10.7862/RM.2018.07","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.7862/RM.2018.07","url":null,"abstract":"Drawbeads are supposed to change the stress state o f sh ets in specific areas of the sheet material, or compensate for material flow at the periphery of the drawpiece, especially when forming complex shaped thin-walled products. The article presents the results of frictional resistance testing of a D C04 steel sheet using a drawbead simulator test. Experimental investigations were ca rried out using a special device that allows a change in the degree of deformation o f the sheet metal on the drawbead. Specimens were tested for: (i) three degrees of sheet deformation; (ii) three countersamples’ surface roughness; and (iii) three lubrication conditions: dry friction, machine oil lubrication and paint lubrication . The test specimens were cut out along, and transversely to, the direction of rollin g of the sheet metal.
