According to the IBSA Visual Classification, all visual impairment subjects participating in our study were covered in the B1 category of visual deficit. This is a group represented by patients with no light perception in either eye up to light perception, and with an inability to recognize the shape of a hand at any distance or in any direction. From our cohort it was excluded subjects who have had low extremities musculoskeletal, neurological, or orthopaedic disorders in the previous six months. The aim of the study was to evaluate their balance with both closed and opened eyes and to set their lower limbs’ strength: these are indispensable characteristics to carry out technical actions of judo. Anthropometric measures were compared between groups and data about jump protocol and balance protocol were analysed. Results of current research showed that postural stability is different in function of assessment with closed and open eyes. The result of the jump tests differs because the data do not show significant differences between long jump and high jump. The comparison between blinded and sighted judo athletes highlighted greater difficulties with eyes closed for sighted athletes than blinded ones.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131526078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The hypothesis is that this methodology can, in extracurricular contexts, improve development and athletic performance in an effective and efficient way. The data were collected by 20 secondary school students, engaged in an 80 m fast running performance, divided into two groups: the first group followed the SDL methodology (n = 10; age = 16.7) and the second group (n = 10; age = 16.9) followed traditional training programme led by a schoolteacher. At the same, initial conditions were evaluated by an entry test (speed test) and at the end of the two treatments, which lasted for 3 weeks, the test was re-administered to evaluate the results and individual interviews were conducted to evaluate perceptions and self-efficacy. In addition to fast running, arms and legs were assessed with isotonic exercises. The monitoring of the two treatments was self-directed in the SDL and conducted by the teacher in the traditional training. The results obtained demonstrate the SDL in sports performance, if not performed by professionals in which the practice is already validated, obtains poor results in terms of both outcomes and perception. The result of this experimental work provides the basis for the interventions that promote the SDL methodology applied to sport and physical education within formal school contexts, still used today in informal and sporting contexts.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129961982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fifty four Under 18 (U-18) years basketball players were evaluated according to FMS 21 and 100 point scale and height of Squat (SJ) and Countermovement jump (CMJ). Spearman and Pearson correlations were carried out to identify whether a relationship existed between FMS scores and the height of SJ and CMJ. The moderate correlations were found between height of both jumps and FMS score (SJ, r = 0.375; CMJ, r = 0.498), whereas the sub-tests show a reliable correlation between the Deep Squat (DS) score and CMJ height (r = 0.315). A higher height of CMJ was also associated with the scores of In-line Lunge (r = 0.357) and Active SLR (r= 0.291). The basis of the findings we can conclude that improvement of the jump ability can be achieved by the enhancement of the overall musculoskeletal state, which can be identified through the composite FMS score or by “Deep squat“, “In-line Lunge“ and “Active SLR“ sub-tests.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123748518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this research is to theoretically point out which of the two below is the most proficient way of improving the dribbling qualities: 1) Making the pupils steadily repeat the same exercise under the coaches' eyes; 2) Letting the kids free to express their own abilities avoiding the use of a pre-packaged schedule. All along the process, the teacher catches up with the most updated existing knowledge in the field of motoric learning. The first method sets an ascending degree of difficulty beginning with low-intensity exercises right up to a tougher dribbling making. The little boys are firstly requested to lift the ball with their hands up until the moment when they are expected to do it with the sole use of their feet. On the contrary, the second method grants the young learners complete freedom. Although they are not given any rules, they are asked to reach the best dribbling quality by doing their utmost. All in all, that those who proceed under the teacher's prescriptions acquire a better knowledge shows that the traditional system is the only possible option.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116535366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To do this, the athlete must be in a state of psycho-physical balance and it is possible not only thanks to proper training, but above all to a correct posture. It depends on many factors and once analysed, there are different ways to improve it. The aim of the research is to demonstrate, from the recognition of scientific literature, how posture can influence sporting performance, in particular in a fast-running race, of an elite athlete and how it can be improved. Therefore, the method adopted is that of the \"Prisma\" protocol, with the comparison of reviews of carefully selected scientific products. The data reported in the research describe a series of mechanisms according to which our body carries out a series of adaptations, which over time, can be fixed as postural defects and which can negatively influence performance. It is therefore necessary for the athlete to acquire a good running technique by performing a series of exercises aimed at improving the tone of the various muscle areas, joint mobility, coordination and harmonious movements, associated with a targeted postural and corrective exercise program, instead, to recover the flawed attitudes. In conclusion, it is possible to affirm how, through postural correction, and therefore of specific exercises of postural re-education and muscle tone, it is possible to achieve balance, well-being and an improvement in athletic performance.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121081458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 8-week multilateral training program on perceived fatigue, lower back flexibility, balance and task specific functional mobility in cancer patients. Twenty participants (52.6±17.1 years) were pair-matched based on age and then randomly assigned to an experimental group (n=10) that performed a progressive training of cardiorespiratory, resistance, flexibility and postural education exercises (~60min, 2d·wk-1), or a wait-list control group (n=10). Measures pre-intervention and post-intervention included psychological and physiological measurements. After intervention, significant improvements (p < 0.01) were detected in experimental group for the perceived fatigue, trunk lateral flexibility test (right and left sides), stork balance stand test (right and left sides) and 30 seconds chair stand test. Findings suggest that multilateral training program may improve the physical fitness and reduce perceived fatigue in cancer patients providing an important support to deal with physiological and psychological side effects. In addition, this multilateral approach may actually prevent physical inactivity, muscle wasting, and loss of energy in special populations.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129264999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We aimed to investigate the overtraining syndrome in the football, modulating the agonistic training and evaluating the nutritional status of the young amateur soccer players, thought monitoring of the capacity of endurance and strength in a sample of twenty athletes between the ages of 18 and 33 (mean 22 +/- 4.43 SD). Overtraining syndrome is a condition of physical, behavioural and emotional stress in sports and occurs when the physical activity is so intense as to prevent the athlete from performing a correct recovery totally eliminating the sense of fatigue. The athletes, from September 2016 to April 2017 were monitored with anthropometric tests (BMI calculation), nutritional tests (Recall test) and sportive (Cooper and Sargent test) to prevention of the overtraining syndrome with initial, intermediate and final measurements. Each player, during the observational period, performed normal athletic training sessions and participating two additional monthly sessions, for a total of sixteen sessions, with free overloads and, after intermediate verification, the exercises has been modified to reduce overtraining phenomenon. Tests initial results have been positive for defenders and midfielders while at the end of the search goalkeepers and forwards have significantly improved the performances. The total percentage increase of sample is around +/- 4% and the study confirmed that by modulating the intensity of training and controlling the athletes' diet, it is possible to reduce or eliminate overtraining effects.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132343328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
