Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the level of enjoinment during and after the practice of physical and sport activities in school sector. The sample was recruited from a primary school in the south of Italy and the participants had the following characteristics: male: 75; female: 75; mean age: 9.45. The participants were divided into two groups: control group (children did not practice any physical activities) and experimental group (children performed structured physical and sport activities). Two scales have been used for assessing the level of enjoy in such groups: the Italian version of the Physical Activity Enjoyment Scale (PACES-IT) and the Enjoy Scale. The scales provided valid and interesting data for comparing the differences between the two groups. The obtained notes will be useful for supporting the work of the physical education teachers.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130170633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample consisted of 20 men aged 21.86 ± 1.85 years who initially had a body mass index (BMI) > 25 kg/m2. The training program was carried out for twelve weeks, three times per week on non-consecutive days, in sessions lasting 60 to 90 minutes. Before and after the treatment, an anthropometric assessment of weight, height and fat mass was performed using a dual-energy x-ray densitometry equipment and the participants were also asked to complete the IPAQ-SF questionnaire. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in both weight (88.29 vs 86.52) kg, BMI (29.22 vs 28.64) kg/m2 and body fat (26.43 vs 25.21) kg. Similarly, energy expenditure (METS min/week) improved in all measurements: in vigorous (980.87 vs 4038.26) and moderate physical activity (450.44 vs 1615.65), walking (949.25 vs 1336.50) and total (2380.56 vs 6690.42), although no significant differences in energy consumed walking were found. The main conclusion reached after this research is that in young adults who are overweight or obese, an exclusively aerobic exercise program, enabled them to reduce their body weight by approximately the same amount of fat mass lost and that their adherence to physical exercise increased as their moderate and vigorous levels increased nearly fourfold, and their total physical activity was more than double that at the beginning of the program.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126826846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and methods: Research was done in Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (Russia, Moscow) using body composition analyzer «InBody 720» and functional diagnostics «Esteck System Complex». Research takes into account physical indicators of 359 females and 460 males from 18 to 74 years old who do not practice any physical activities or do it occasionally.Results: The study identified substantial increase in fat component of women`s body in a period of 29-34 years old-39,6%, in 46-55 years old it is critically increasing up to 51,2%. Females start feeling muscle weakness in period of 35-45 years old. In males group dynamic of fat component is on an ordinary level and even lower in a young age (18-28)-10,3%, 29-34 years old-18%, 35-45 years old-21,1%, 56-74 years old-24,4%. Most of the participants have satisfactory functional condition-70-90 points (max. 100). However, a low reaction level on an ordinary physical exertion was identified, as well as a poor level of reserved capacities of cardio-vascular and respiratory systems. Conclusion: To plan a fitness program it is necessary to consider such characteristics as age, sex, individual index of body composition and functional condition, individual preferences in types of physical exercises, indexes of hearth rate and blood pressure. While planning fitness training, it is necessary to take into account proportion between fat component and muscular component («fitness-points»), balance of energy.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134141945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study showed that judokas of microsomal type usually use techniques that require greater levels of motion coordination abilities (47.2%), and rarely resort to power throws (19.3%). Mesosomal type wrestlers mostly use speed and power throws (41.3%), and rarely ‒ throws that require high levels of movement coordination ability (25.1%). Macrosomal type wrestlers most often use power throws (54.3%), the least contribution into the dispersion for this type of wrestlers belongs to movement coordination type of throws (17.6%). A total of eighteen judokas aged 16-18 of different somatic types were studied. The distribution into somatic types was carried out to determine the groups of somatic types of judokas taking part in the experiment. The subjects were distributed into three groups according to their somatic types. A total of five judokas were of MiS (microsomal) type; seven represented the MeS (mesosomal) type; and six - the MaS (macrosomal) type. All three groups of judokas were required to perform throws to assess their technique. The factor analysis of technical preparedness of judokas showed that the effectiveness of their throws might be influenced by their somatic type. The study established that microsomal judokas relied the most on movement coordination and speed; mesosomal ‒ on their perseverance, speed, and power, and macrosomal ‒ on their power alone as the leading physical quality.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128191282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Youth with higher levels of resilience are less likely to engage in aggressive behaviours or be victims of bullying. Karate, a martial art emphasizing respect, self-regulation and health promotion, may be an effective alternative to the anti-bullying failing approach of institutions. Therefore, the purpose of this randomized controlled study was to examine the effect of a 12-week karate based intervention on resilience. 50 students, aged 14-16 years, were randomly assigned to experimental group (n=25) that performed technical Shotokan karate practice, i.e. kihon, kata and kumite (60 min., once per week), or control group (n=25). At baseline and after intervention, the Child and Youth Resilience Measure (CYRM-28) assessed the individual capacities and resources, relationship with primary caregiver, contextual factors and total resilience. The intervention significant improved levels of the overall resilience and resilience sub-factors (p<0.05). The results suggest that psycho-social intervention based on Karate may improve the resilience and well-being of youth and make them less likely to engage in aggressive behaviour or be bullied. Thus, Karate should be considered an effective alternative to the anti-bullying failing approach of the institutions.","PeriodicalId":288462,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Sport and Exercise - 2019 - Spring Conferences of Sports Science","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133109883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
