It has no cure and can only be managed; children with the condition often need lifelong care. This study is an examination of the awareness, knowledge and perception of Port Harcourt women on children living with cerebral palsy. The objectives were: to ascertain the level of awareness of Port Harcourt women on children living with cerebral palsy; examine the level of knowledge Port Harcourt women have on children living with cerebral palsy among others. The health belief, perception and cognitive balance theories underpinned this study. The study adopted descriptive survey design and the population of the study comprised women who reside in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor LGAs of Rivers State between the ages of 18 – 65. The population figure for the study was 698,000 while the sample size was 400 using Taro Yamane determinant formula. The study employed purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The questionnaire was used for data collection and contingency tables were used for data presentation. Findings from the study revealed that the level of awareness of children living with cerebral palsy was high, and the level of knowledge on children living with cerebral palsy among Port Harcourt women was low. The study concluded that the issue of children living with cerebral palsy, many women are informed but do not have adequate knowledge of its consequences and symptoms, thus, many children living with cerebral palsy suffer stigmatisation and rejection in public. Nevertheless, with viable guiding medical and public enlightenment, the issue can be managed. The study recommended that though, the level of awareness of children living with cerebral palsy is high; there should be massive awareness/enlightenment","PeriodicalId":287345,"journal":{"name":"RESEARCH JOURNAL OF MASS COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136112882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Managing logistics effectively is a complex and challenging task, as a result of the continuing trends of expanding product variety, short product life cycles, increased outsourcing, globalization of businesses and continuous advances in information technology. In recent years, Logistics Management has grown in acceptance and now at the forefront of every business planning. In this milieu, Information Communication Technology plays a pivotal role in ensuring continued Logistics firm competitiveness and success. The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of Information Communication Technology in articulating effective Logistics operation. However, the theoretical basis of Information Communication Technology has not been fully understood within the context of Logistics Management, such that it will give a pointer to how these inherent costs could be managed or saved as well as supplier customer collaborative relationship. It is in the light of this that the study attempt to give theoretical considerations, through descriptive methodology approach, on how basic objectives of logistic can be achieved and its ultimate goal can be realized. The studies conclude that emphasis should be placed on attributes of Information Communication Technology in order to enhance Logistics efficiency and effectiveness and to support the support performance of global Logistics networks.","PeriodicalId":287345,"journal":{"name":"RESEARCH JOURNAL OF MASS COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY","volume":"251 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136112473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study adopted the survey design method. Research design used was a survey, using qualitative method. The population of this research are respondents who are literate (i.e. those who can read and write in the English Language) and also some who are computer literate. They are selected from the following calibres of people and administrative areas: reporters, broadcasters, mass media researchers, news writers, freelancers, Mass Communication and International Relations students and lecturers in Rivers State universities. All of these formed the research population of this study. In addition to this, interviews were conducted with 10 respondents from Nigeria, which forms the sample size. The method of sampling employed in this work is purposive sampling, which involves going straight to the population to select some members of it who possess certain characteristics required by the research. Information was also collected through qualitative methods, which involved conducting interviews with the respondents as well as by direct observation. In essence, the primary sources of information in this research include the use of online interviews, observations and official reports of the UNESCO, the World Bank and the Nigerian government. The qualitative analysis in this study is an interpretative process, which involves organisation, inference and rationalisation of the qualitative data. Findings show that the potential influence of globalization and ICTs on the culture of the Nigerian society is unduly exaggerated in favour of cultural imperialism arguments. The paper also submits that the major arguments of cultural imperialism are now socially irrelevant, theoretically moribund and conceptually deficient. The study examines the extent of broadcast media sensitivity to gender issues with particular emphasis on number of programmes, type, frequency and direction of programmes, and the challenges of broadcasting gender-based issues. The study was underpinned on the gate-keeping theory. Survey research design was employed, and NTA, AIT, Treasure FM (Radio Nigeria) and Nigeria Info FM – were purposively selected based on their ownership. Findings reveal that broadcasting in Nigeria is not sensitive enough to gender- based issues seeing that the number of gender-related programmes broadcast in all four stations of study was relatively small compared to the overall number of programmes broadcast. The major challenge encountered in the broadcast of gender-based issues in the stations include a dearth of funds for the production and sponsorship of such programmes and the cultural inclination of Africans in general. The study strongly recommends the enactment of gender specific laws mandating broadcast media to be sensitive in their programming.","PeriodicalId":287345,"journal":{"name":"RESEARCH JOURNAL OF MASS COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136112739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This qualitative case study focuses on capturing detailed information from participants using structured interviews. Through a purposive selection technique, ten participants were chosen and interviewed to learn about their personal experiences with the phenomena of staged beefing in the music industry and its ramifications for both bloggers and musicians. The participants' responses were analysed using the thematic analysis approach, which was based on Agenda Setting and Framing Theory. Participants identified implications of staged beefing to both bloggers and musicians as fake feuds, collaboration, and controversy, monetary gains, and clout. The data capture that some musicians and entertainment bloggers collaborate to create ‘fake’ feuding scenarios and that the phenomenon of ‘fake feuds’ is real event that happen. The result also shows that entertainment bloggers and musicians present information in such a way as to market the artiste and connect with the audiences during the process of opinion formation, which subsequently influences attitudes and behaviours. Based on the outcome of the interview, supported by the literature it became obvious that both bloggers and musicians who consent to create fake feuds do so to promote their brand visibility and relevance to attract large corporations for endorsement deals and or boost sales of their music","PeriodicalId":287345,"journal":{"name":"RESEARCH JOURNAL OF MASS COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135254947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper first looks into the definitions of media convergence and introduces the processes of media convergence from the views of different scholars. This paper was exploratory thus it examines the reasons for media convergence anchoring its theoretical basis on the media convergence theory. The merits and demerits of media convergence were highlighted and the paper concludes that the Internet has unified all media forms such that any medium that has not fully converged on the Internet can be said to be lagging behind. However, this is not to affirm that the media cannot survive without converging on the Internet but it is safe to say that such mass media that are absent on the new media might have reduced its essence of being a conduit for mass communication because the idea of mass communication is mass reach and the Internet offers that mass reach directing the attention of media owners in that direction. The paper shows from previous studies that the media is a crucial part of the democratic process in that almost everything that happens within the political circle is projected or deemphasized by the media. The media have the tendency to make a political idea or candidate popular and the G5 governors are well aware of this fact and are utilizing this advantage significantly. It is however important to note that this awareness and utilization of the media seem not to have garnered the needed benefit which is to ensure the removal of the PDP national chairman.
