Ivanov, Yu. V. Popkov “Spiritual and ecological civilizational perspective: the value potential of the value potential of young people in the Siberian context” (journal «Siberian socium», no. 1, 2021). The authors made an attempt to analyze the article devoted to an urgent problem — the identification of value orientations of modern youth in the context of a new civilizational transformation. During the discussion of the article, attention is focused on the analysis of the current situation in which the formation of youth is taking place; characterization of the historical challenge for the entire modern society and the specifics of the required response from young people. Particular attention is paid to the thesis of the article that youth will be the main subject of the civilizational transformation of Siberia. An assessment is given to the statement about the uniqueness of Siberia, taking into account the requirements of scientific rationality. The topic of the presence and preparedness of an active subject of mankind’s transition from a technogenic-consumer to a noospheric civilization is discussed. The sections of the research “Assessment of strategic guidelines of global civilizational development and the possibility of personal participation in it”, “Assessment of the role of Siberia and Siberians in the formation of the foundations of the spiritual and ecological development prospects” are analyzed. Revealing the characteristics of modern youth in the context of the Siberian future, the authors cite for comparison the results of their own research conducted in 2020 among students of the Omsk State Agrarian University, during which 1,600 respondents were interviewed. The urgency of the problem being analyzed is emphasized, the value of such studies is shown, on the basis of which project activities should unfold, a management culture of various processes that attract labor resources, and primarily young people, should be formed. The analysis of the article by A. V. Ivanov, Yu. V. Popkov led to the conviction that the potential of Siberian youth, provided it is adequately developed, will give a significant positive effect for the successful course of transformations in the Russian Federation and in the international context. There is an urgent issue of attracting young people to Siberia and ensuring their stay. In this sense, two perspectives of interest in Siberia are determined — this is a situation when Siberia becomes an object of study, Siberia can also be considered a territory where subjects are formed that are able to generate meanings of interest outside the region.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115591527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article aims to explain how the development of the Arctic can become a source of acceleration of social and economic development of Russia — a driver of development and its multiplier. This emphasizes the importance of following the principle of connectivity in the development of the Eastern sector of the Russian Arctic, when analyzing the sources of complexity the design of its development, performed by the employees of the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IEIE SB RAS). The article studies the projects of integrated development of the Eastern sector of the Arctic zone of Russia, developed in 2015-2018 by the IEIE SB RAS as potential drivers and multipliers that can accelerate the social and economic development of the entire country. The author emphasizes the non-constructive focus of some researchers on the development of a narrowly understood regional perspective of the problems of developing the potential of the Russian Arctic and justifies the need for a systematic approach to its development in the context of global economic ideas. The article reveals the mental sources of the commitment of the research staff of the IEIE SB RAS to system research, to the implementation of the theory of optimal use of limited natural and economic resources in research projects. The possibility of a significant acceleration of economic growth in Siberia and Russia as a whole during the implementation of Arctic projects, provided that the priority participation of industrially developed and densely populated regions of southern Siberia. The article shows that for the formation and implementation of an effective social and economic strategy of secondary (post-industrial) transformation of the Russian society, it is not enough to specify the current and long-term objectives of the economic movement. The authors concludes that it is of fundamental importance to identify potential drivers and multipliers in their composition that can accelerate the social and economic development of the country.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130648581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accordingly, the purpose of this article is to analyze the effectiveness of video cases in the prevention of HIV infection among young people. The authors rely on the idea of social prevention of dangerous diseases as a social institution that is functionally focused on the development, active assimilation and use of socio-cultural norms and skills, the risk of spreading diseases. The theoretical and methodological basis of the work is the approaches of well-known foreign scientists related to the issues of preserving society, stability of social systems, and coordination of the interests of the state and the individual. This article is based on materials of the monitoring study, which was conducted in 2019-2020 in the framework of preventive measures of HIV infection specialists of the “Center for Preventing and Fighting AIDS” in conjunction with volunteers. The authors of this article analyze the results of the survey: the questions were aimed at studying the awareness of young people about possible transmission routes, potential risk groups, clinical features of HIV infection and AIDS, as well as the awareness of young people about the HIV infection in general before and after preventive measures with the help of video sessions. This study makes a number of conclusions concerning the dynamics of students’ general awareness and their relationship to the HIV infection, as well as the effectiveness of media in preventing the HIV infection among the youth of the Republic of Khakassia. The results show that in the contemporary period of active usage of digital technologies, it is advisable to prevent HIV infection in the youth environment by using video cases. At the same time, educational organizations and educational institutions are the most optimal platform for performing HIV prevention work with young people. Finally, the main priority of HIV prevention should be to understand and understand the possibility of infection due to risky behavior of young people.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121654302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various historical stages in the development of world civilization were characterized by the presence of a specific set of factors that actualize the theoretical understanding and empirical knowledge of certain elements of public health, which led to the realization of the complexity and multidimensionality of this category. The modern stage is characterized by conditions that bring to the fore the study of issues related to mental, spiritual, moral, social health, while the latter today seems to be the most in need of scientific reflection. The subject of this article is social health as one of the many elements of the structure of public health. The article is predominantly theoretical; its goal is to contribute to the discussion about the essence of the category “social health” and, accordingly, about the most effective approaches to its empirical measurement. An attempt was made to theoretically substantiate the relevance of scientific and practical understanding of the category of “social health” in the discourse of sociological concepts (anomia, “trauma” etc.), which significantly increases the practical significance of its study in terms of preventing negative trends not only in the field of protecting and strengthening public health but also in broader aspects of social development. Based on the results of the study, the author’s definition of social health is formulated, the dominant role of the sociological component in the interpretation and study of this phenomenon is substantiated. Attention is drawn to the importance of the operationalization of the concept of “social health”; on the practical significance of its empirical dimension, which is due to the specific nature of the processes of socio-cultural transformation of the Russian and global community as a whole, and, as a result, the need to search for new complex indicators and indicators that can represent their dynamics and current state representatively.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126552396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Egalitarian movements become dominant in the 19th -20th centuries, vividly manifesting in the revolutions in Russia, China, Mexico, and in the national liberation movements. The only important exception, the system of apartheid in South Africa, where social discrimination was based on racial segregation, opposed that tendency. In the 21st century, apartheid based on a “biological” racial attribute officially ceased to exist, but if the “race” was considered as social signs according to G. Le Bon and other social thinkers of the 19th century, then, oddly enough, apartheid not only persisted, but gradually intensified. The subdivision of people into representatives of “higher” and “lower” categories took place not only within the caste system that persisted in relatively poor India, but also in rich countries with their sophisticated legal regime, dividing people into “citizens” and “non-citizens”, “labor migrants” and holders of “residence permit”. According to the authors, apartheid has organically integrated into the narcissistic culture which is specific for postmodernism and has fixed in various rhetorical, legal, and economic practices. At the same time, apartheid remains a taboo concept, but in many segments of public life, interested actors are seeking to give it a legal form. The subject matter of apartheid is rapidly updated in the second or third decades of the 21st century. The events of the past two years have awakened the interest in the theme of apartheid, demonstrating its ability to adapt to the social changes in the environment. None of infectious disease has caused such massive social segregation as the COVID-19. In line with the development of narcissism, the inversion of racial relations are explained, when the roles and social positions of the black and white people are reversed. At the same time, the former should feel guilty for the exploitation of the former for centuries in Europe and America.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132133113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study is to analyze the “silver volunteering” as a form of social activity of the older generation among the residents of the Republic of Khakassia. The authors of the article, based on the methods of questionnaire and expert survey, identified the content of the “silver volunteer” activity, its priority areas, the motivation of the “silver volunteer” and obstacles to the successful development of the volunteer movement in the region. The theoretical and methodological basis of the article is the approaches of well-known foreign and domestic authors, which identify the actual problems of maintaining stability in society. The authors of the article rely on the activity approach, which includes the concepts of “adaptation”, “mobility”, “motives”, etc. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among the “silver volunteers”, which reflect the respondents’ opinions about the content of volunteer activities, their motivation and interests, their participation in volunteer practices, etc. (n = 155). In addition, the article includes the results of an expert survey (n = 5) conducted in the form of an in-depth interview with the coordinators of volunteer movements in the region, which reflects the current state of the volunteer movement and barriers to its implementation. The study showed that participation in volunteer movements is a successful practice of self-realization, social adaptation of older people. The priority areas of volunteer activity are environmental, educational, cultural and educational. The following are identified barriers to the organization and implementation of the volunteer movement: the lack of training programs for volunteer work; the fear of “silver volunteers” to be incompetent, especially when working with seriously ill people; the lack of criteria for evaluating the effective activity of a volunteer; the lack of systematic methodological assistance and support of volunteer centers.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"171 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124017621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The low degree and lack of generalized trust can generate a calm attitude towards corruption and facilitate the participation of the population in corrupt activities. A high degree of trust in an individual contributes to confidence in the actions carried out by them, their compliance with established norms, rules or agreements, due to which the likelihood of the implementation of corrupt actions is minimized. This duality of the relationship between corruption and trust is explained by the existence of different forms and levels of trust in society, when different types of trust play their «role». The purpose of the study is to identify the presence of interconnection of generalized trust and corruption in the Altai Krai’s society. The basis of this article consists of integrative theoretical and methodological background, which includes concepts of theories of trust and of corruptogenicity of a society. The novelty of the research lies in the identification of possible points of interdependence of social trust and corruption in society. The article focuses on the sociological analysis of corruption practices and public perceptions of corruption. The level of coverage of everyday corruption and the degree of generalized trust among the population of Altai Krai were determined based on the results of a sociological survey of the urban and rural population aged 18 to 70 years (n = 1200). Corrupt practices of the population are presented in the work by the level of involvement of the population in everyday corruption for the sixteen proposed situations of contacting state authorities. The hypotheses about the presence of interconnection/dependence between generalized trust and corrupt practices were tested. For some figures, a connection was found between socio-demographic characteristics, the degree of generalized trust, the coverage of domestic corruption and its demand. The dependence of some corrupt practices on generalized trust were also revealed. The authors have used regression analysis in the present research.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130767055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a need for the research matching the current situation, which a number of authors quite rightfully name the “reading crisis”. At the same time, specific empirical studies of the recent years in Russia show an increase in reader interest (especially among young people). This actualizes the need to diagnose the structure of reader preferences in the vanguard of young people, the future scientific, technical, and managerial elite — the university students. In the world, one may see a reception of the national classical literary heritage as a reaction to globalist projects in the form of Americanization (or rather, McDonaldization). This study aims to analyze the place of Russian literary classics in the structure of reading preferences among the university students based on the results of a specific sociological questionnaire of the student audience in Astrakhan, Volgograd, and Moscow, implemented under the guidance and direct participation of the authors in 2016 and in 2019. As an indicator of familiarity of respondents with the works of Russian and Soviet writers of the 19th and 20th centuries, the authors counted the reading of a full text. The level of familiarity with the texts of the Golden Age of the Russian culture has increased, same goes for the readers’ interest in Soviet authors. Students pay more attention to the works of N. V. Gogol and M. A. Bulgakov nowadays. There is also a growing audience of authors, who write about the Great Patriotic War. The authors of this article associate this phenomenon with the activation of the historical memory of Russians. At the same time, the results show that students prefer the Soviet period of literary classics to a much lesser extent than the works of the Golden Age. The tendency to increase the importance of Russian literary classics in the structure of reader preferences of contemporary students can be associated with the processes of revival of interest in Russian culture, with the strengthening of civil position, and ultimately — the national identity. The prospects for further research are considered by the authors based on qualitative methods involving the theoretical and methodological potential of social and literary studies, which can show the possible transformation of the understanding of the meaning of works of Russian literary classics by modern students.","PeriodicalId":286622,"journal":{"name":"Siberian Socium","volume":"25 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125462313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
