By critical survey, emphasizing the advantages and identifying opportunities for improvement, the aim of this paper is to systematically and credibly show which principles the authors consider to be highly potential for application in industry. Although the actual number of papers by respected scientists is much higher and many good articles are unfairly neglected in this paper, within the space-time constraints an overview is given of those that will surely be of interest to professionals developing similar solutions. The authors hope that this article will serve as a good starting point for everyone willing to develop real advanced solutions that will improve the world of power industry.","PeriodicalId":284895,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124724459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is accomplished with energy management system (EMS) developed as Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) problem evaluated on different case studies. Studied microgrid (MG) consists of PV system, load and battery storage system (BSS). Developed algorithm optimizes electricity flow in the MG by managing operational points of elements with the final goal of serving electricity demand at the lowest expense. Performance analysis of PVMG operation is performed for three study cases - passive consumer, prosumer and PVMG. Input data for the case studies represent 7 days of measurements of solar irradiance and ambient temperature for European humid-continental climate while load represents measurements of household electricity consumption in South-eastern Europe. Finally, sensitivity analysis of the impact of PV system array size and BSS capacity on operational profit of the PVMG operator (owner) for the scheduling horizon is carried out.","PeriodicalId":284895,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126374932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It requires data to be obtained in a fast, reliable, and consistent manner. Indexes are defined as an optional structure to improve Select statement performance. On the other hand, they cause additional demands, if data are changed, whereas such change must be reflected in the index, as well. This paper aims to discuss the auto-indexing methods provided by DBS Oracle, highlighting their limitations. We propose own techniques to remove the impact of peaks caused by adding new queries to the system, to which no suitable index is present. It is based on the block data analysis in the pointer layer.","PeriodicalId":284895,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST)","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121366822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the procedures of utilizing the light reaching the plant leaf for chemical energy production is via the chlorophyll (CF) molecules that enable biochemical processes. Chlorophyll fluorescence measurement technique is used to assess the photosynthetic performance of plants and the main principle is based on light energy distribution. Although the plant physiological status is monitored and influenced with agricultural practices like crop rotation and fertilization, various deviations might happen in the agro-ecosphere. Fluorescence transient is monitored through different parameters like maximum fluorescence and different states of dark-adapted fluorescence are measured. Fluorescence is commonly measured using fluorometers like Pocket plant efficiency analyzer (PEA) and Handy PEA. Novel solutions include satellite observations and IoT solutions. Cost-efficient solutions based on a single sensor node provide less accuracy, while sensor networks acquire results comparable to reference data. This short review presents an overview of available sensors, methods and algorithms for measurements of chlorophyll fluorescence and identifies open issues and research directions for the future work.","PeriodicalId":284895,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134228838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Jaya algorithm is a more recent and powerful heuristic search process. In spite of this, the original Jaya algorithm (OJA) may degrade its search performance by reason of the absence of algorithm-specific parameters. A maiden effort has been applied to consider an algorithm-specific variable (i.e., weight parameter) in the OJA for augmenting its search process towards the optimal result. The search performance of AJOA based on different unconstrained benchmark problems realized to be more appropriate than Particle swarm optimization (PSO), Gravity search algorithm (GSA), Ant lion optimization (ALO), and the original Jaya algorithm. Illustration of convergence characteristics of the above-mentioned algorithms, the AJOA is quite faster in contributing to the optimal solution and leading to a reduction in computational burden. In addition, the investigations reveal that AJOA with PI-PD cascaded controller suppressing the dynamics of the frequency oscillations in an interconnected two-area power system during the system events such as variations in parameters and load perturbations.","PeriodicalId":284895,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130312355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
