In this paper, the phylogenetic tree was constructed by using distance-based method; UPGMA and the proposed method, MOM estimator. The UPGMA calculates the average of possible pairwise distances to get a new distance in the clustering process. If outliers exist in the possible pairwise distances, new mean distances are calculated, and the result is not robust. To overcome this problem, we implement a checking process to detect the outliers using MADn criteria on (based on median), and the new distances using the modified one-step M-estimator (MOM). In movie theater services, the movie price is generally fixed; moreover, it does not depend on the quality of contents or the theater seat. Therefore, such a service mechanism by the fixed pricing cannot reflect the value of movie contents. In this study, introducing the Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) mechanism and Gale-Shapley (GS) mechanism, a new mechanism of theater services is proposed. The computation of state feedback control gains is conventionally handled by pole placement method or LQR method via Riccati equation. Unfortunately, they still possess trial-and-error approach in choosing their parameters. Particularly, choosing elements of Q and R matrices in the state feedback control design using LQR method has to be done by trial. Therefore, an intelligent method to resolve this problem is proposed by adopting PSO-based optimization. The ripe tomato is segmented by K-means clustering using the L*a*b* color space. To extract a single ripe tomato, mathematical morphology is used to denoise and handle the situations of tomato overlapping and sheltering. Tomato's shape features are combined with the color features to recognize ripe tomatoes. The difference value between the centroid coordinate and the center coordinate of image is used to control the robot arm to aim the tomato center. The turned angles of the robot arm are recorded. The distance between the tomato and robot arm is measured by a laser sensor. With the turned angles and the distance, the tomato's 3D coordinate is calculated under the spherical coordinate system. Real terrain dispersion simulation for risk analysis purpose is needed to evaluate any risk potential. This paper describe possibilities of predicting the model of gas dispersion for the simulation of 3D gas mapping application. Relative mass loss of the liquid state of the gas will be introduced as inputs of the process that will be modeled. Simulation study shows OE (Output Error) model shows promising result in identifying the system. The model developed is original and informative because it incorporates the prerequisites that had been treated independently in many cases in previous studies within a single simple framework. In this paper, we propose a “Human Computer Interfacing Device” mapping Hand Gestures, most intuitive communication gesture, to communicate with computers, robots and other household electronic devices. Developments in field of communication have enabled computer commands being executed using hand gestures. This proposed novel solution achieves effective interaction with Internet giving quality feedback, intuitive control with complete mobility. Simple inertial navigation sensor like an accelerometer is utilized to get dynamic/static profile of movement to navigate the mouse or gyroscope to rotate 3-D virtual objects. Accelerometer profiles are converted into wireless interactivity. The device involves non-tactile interaction with computer screen where mouse pointer reacts to and manipulates screen content in accordance with hand gestures. The circumstances of similarity transformations, presence of noise, and occlusion have been included as the part of the study. For simplicity, instead of objects, outlines of the objects have been used for the whole process of the recognition. Fourier Descriptors have been used as features of the objects. From the analysis and results using Fourier Descriptors, the following questions arise: What is the optimum number of descriptors to be used? Are these descriptors of equal importance? To answer these questions, the problem of selecting the best descriptors has been formulated as an optimization problem. Genetic Algorithm technique has been mapped and used successfully to have an object recognition system using minimal number of Fourier Descriptors. This matching requires the service provider to have knowledge of consumer-related factors, such as the satisfaction level or the concept of value of the consumer. An intelligent model of the consumer is needed in order to estimate such factors because these factors cannot be observed directly by the service provider. However, obtaining knowledge of such factors in real services using conventional consumer behavior theory is difficult because the models are not designed for practical application, but rather are intended to provide a comprehensive and elaborative understanding of consumer behaviors. In addition, most conventional models are qualitative, and so cannot provide quantitative information for decision making by the providers. The present paper describes a method for computational modeling of the consumer by understanding the behavior based on large-scale datasets observed in real services. It is difficult to model the behavior or decision making process of the customer, which involves nonlinear or non-Gaussian variables, using conventional statistical modeling techniques, which assume linear or Gaussian models. We use a Bayesian network method, which can handle nonlinear and non-Gaussian variables as conditional probabilities. The models are constructed based on large-scale datasets observed in real services and present some practical applications of the models to retail and content providing services.
