The system is designed to check impersonation of examinees, aiding and abetting by teachers and other proctors, importing and submitting answer scripts written outside the approved examination halls and finally monitoring the script submission process to prevent swapping of answer booklets after completion of the examination. The proposed system consist of biometric authentication system, automated attendance system, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras for video recording, a script submission system (SSS), a drop box for temporal storage of scripts and human monitors to analyse the recorded videos at monitoring center of the examination board. The system is designed to work even in remote areas with unstable internet as is the case with most examination centers in rural areas in Nigeria. When implemented the system will help check illegal activities in miracle examination centers and reduce examination malpractices by both examinees and proctors drastically.","PeriodicalId":282447,"journal":{"name":"FUDMA JOURNAL OF SCIENCES","volume":"229 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139171109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was a 5 x 2 factorial experiment carried out in randomized complete block design with three replications. The rates of cow dung in tha-1 were 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20, while the varieties were Samnut-21 and Samnut-22. After analysis of variances and means separation with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) of the data collected on yield indices of groundnut, the results indicated that Samnut-21 was outstanding in all the parameters assessed. Manure application rate of 20tha-1 gave the highest values with respect to yield of groundnut in Abraka ecology. It was therefore recommended that 20tha-1 of cow dung be applied to Samnut-21 for increased yield of groundnut in Abraka, Delta State, Nigeria.","PeriodicalId":282447,"journal":{"name":"FUDMA JOURNAL OF SCIENCES","volume":"299 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139171692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new generated distribution is expected to be more flexible and have wider acceptability in modeling and predicting real world data sets.  In this research, we proposed and study an extension of Ikum distribution using Zubai G- Family (2018) of distribution called Z-Ikum distribution. Expression of some basic structural properties of the new distribution such as cdf, pdf, quantile functions, moments, moment generating function, characteristics function and order statistics was derived. Survival function, hazard rate function, commutative hazard rate function and reversed hazard rate function was also discussed. Plots of the hazard rate function showincrease, decrease and bathtub shapes.Estimation of the proposed distribution parameters was carried out using MLE method. Performance of the parameter estimation was also evaluated via simulation studies. Result of the simulation studies indicates that our estimator is consistent. Three life data sets were used to evaluate the performance of our proposed distribution over some existing distributions. Result of the empherical study revealed that our proposed distribution performwell in modeling real life data than the competing distributions.","PeriodicalId":282447,"journal":{"name":"FUDMA JOURNAL OF SCIENCES","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139209500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Successes in treatment of tuberculosis lead to reduction in transmission, complications, and mortality among patients. The outbreak of COVID-19 drew the attention of governments and healthcare practitioners.  This study considers the effect of COVID-19 on Tuberculosis treatment. Data were sourced from Taraba and Adamawa States in North-east Nigeria. A total of 8820 patients’, records were used, with 3001 from Adamawa State and 5819 from Taraba State which involved TB patients’ records. At the bivariate level, the Pearson Chi-square test was employed to measure the association between the treatment outcome and the independent variables (local government area, treatment facility ownership, treatment regimen, patients’ supported, disease site, gender, HIV status and year of treatment). Thereafter multinomial Poisson regression analysis was performed on all statistically significant variables identified at the bivariate analysis. Decisions were taken based on p-value and odds ratios. The results of this study shows that the overall treatment success and cure rate across the States was on the average, 92.7% and 49.8% respectively. The highest treatment success rate of 94.5% was achieved in year 2021, while the year 2020 witnessed the highest cure rate of 53.5%. The overall cure rate of 49.8% is below the WHO recommendation. This study recommends that the non-pharmaceutical protocols to curtail the spread of COVID-19 should be strengthened in order to curtail TB spread, and that all TB patients should be tested for HIV.","PeriodicalId":282447,"journal":{"name":"FUDMA JOURNAL OF SCIENCES","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139213921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unabated demand in the growing post-industrial era have decimated any health impact that could be borne by the inhabitants of the mining communities. Dange-Shuni is an enclave of this basin that was covered in a bid to determine the gross alpha and beta radioactivity in domestic water in and around mining points. Water samples were collected and analyzed via Hidex 300 SL system of Liquid Scintillation Counting from a systematic sampling of fifteen mining points. The results indicate that both the gross alpha and beta radioactivity concentrations were in elevation with about 80% and 85% above the global limits of 0.5 and 1.0 . The results are good reasons to work hard in order to bring dose of radioactivity exposure to the inhabitants to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) being a mandate of WHO.","PeriodicalId":282447,"journal":{"name":"FUDMA JOURNAL OF SCIENCES","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139220417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a negative-sense, single-stranded Ribonucleic acid (RNA) virus. It gets its name from syncytia, which are huge cells that form when infected cells merge. In this paper fractional order model of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) virus will be developed. The Caputo fractional derivative operator of the order will be used to generate the model scheme of non-integer differential equations. To calculate an estimated solution of the system of nonlinear fractional differential equations, the Laplace-Adomian Decomposition Method was used. Infinite series was produced as solutions to fractional differential equations. The model's proposed series solution converges quickly to its precise value. The obtained results are compared to the standard case.","PeriodicalId":282447,"journal":{"name":"FUDMA JOURNAL OF SCIENCES","volume":"58 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139225387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unabated mining activities whose motive is to constantly keep industries running on locally sourced minerals and raw materials often leave the host communities with heavy burden of radioactivity impacts that have be monitored in this study. this should explicitly and clearly state main objectives of the work. Hyper Pure Germanium detector coupled to a Multi-Channel Analyzer (MCA) was used for gamma-ray spectrometry to ascertain the activity concentration results of ,,in 15 packs of homogenized soil samples collected from mining sites, Dange-Shuni LGA, Sokoto State, Nigeria. Mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustiveness approach of sampling was adopted in order to overcome the limitations of large and diverse nature of mining localities terrain. Results obtained from gamma-ray spectroscopy reveals a range of 30.72.9 to 95.67.2, 30.72.9 to 95.67.2 and 499.2051.5 to 971.2421.5 for ,and respectively. The mean values were calculated to be 58.04, 54.5 and 767.62 respectively. The radiological hazards of , , , , ,  and  were obtained for the results of activity concentration ascertained in this study. The results were found in elevations to the world mean values in comparison which is an implication of dangers of environmental radioactivity to the generality of the dwellings.
