In addition to the reduced price, it also has the added benefit of rapid prototyping, allowing the designer to modify the geometry swiftly. Otherwise this kind of manufacture opens the way to experiment with shapes until now unachievable by traditional subtractive techniques. In order to demonstrate its feasibility, the experimental results of three filters with low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass responses respectively, designed in Ku band with usual specifications in satellite communication systems have been designed, printed, metallized and measured. In the conclusion, the advantages and limitations are highlighted, with special attention dedicated to the metallization process, since it is the bottleneck of the process.","PeriodicalId":277112,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115751427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It employs the singular value decomposition method to retrieve the probe voltage samples at the points fixed by the nonredundant sampling representation from the acquired irregularly spaced ones. The NF data needed by the classical plane-rectangular NF-FF transformation are then efficiently evaluated by means of an optimal sampling interpolation expansion.","PeriodicalId":277112,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116957638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These ground stations are currently in use to support ESA Deep Space Missions and to provide cross-support to other Space Agencies. This paper presents the feed systems installed in ESA Deep Space Antennas and associated performance. In view of new missions currently in preparation, ESA Deep Space Antennas will undergo in the next years to major upgrades required to accommodate new frequency bands (26 GHz down-link and 34 GHz uplink) and higher transmitted power (up to 100 kW in X-Band) and to improve down-link performance. This paper presents the architecture currently under definition for the new generation of feed systems to be deployed in the network.","PeriodicalId":277112,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115081686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Depending on the application, design features that describe the electromagnetic response of the structure are chosen. Subject of study in this paper is the effect of uncertainties in the material properties of the slabs. Design features are random variables and their mean and variance describe the effect of the uncertainties in a probabilistic way. In this paper, a strategy is presented to estimate these uncertainty characteristics. The strategy is illustrated for the application of VCSELs.","PeriodicalId":277112,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117316048","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
