As interface between the power distribution system and consumer power system, PSC has a strong influence on quality and efficiency of energy and implicitly on the level of energy costs. Besides specific measures for increasing efficiency and reduction of energy costs, the industrial consumer is interested both, in economic and in technical evaluation of power transformer included in PSC, and in its impact on the total energy cost. The paper deals with the methodology of electric energy billing for the case of Romanian industrial consumers. A procedure is proposed for the evaluation of the cost of consumer energy, putting in evidence the losses in PSC when the measurement point is on LV. The loading factor of PSC transformer is determined and the efficiency of PSC transformer replacement is obtained. The application of this procedure is done for a PSC of 100 kVA which supplies an industrial consumer. This procedure can be the basis for development of a system for power control and monitoring with the aim to minimize electricity demand costs.","PeriodicalId":276733,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127492350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using different combinations has a great potential to get better results in pattern classification problems. In this study, ensemble learning was used for the aim of PAF screening, i.e. finding whether a person is PAF patient or not from his/her ectopic-free ECG records. Both hierarchical and parallel structures of ensemble learning were tried To train experts, k–fold cross validation and bootstrap sampling methods were used and their performances were compared. Four different types of classifiers were used as experts. Dataset used consists of electrocardiogram (ECG) records from both PAF patients and non-PAF subjects. M2M refers to networks, which connect devices together and enable them to make smart decisions based on the generated and/or transferred data. The most viable option of implementing M2M communications is over cellular networks. These networks are designed for Human-to-Human (H2H) communication, which is characterized by smaller number of connection requests and longer connection times as compared to the thousands of M2M that will try to connect simultaneously to transmit only a minimum amount of data. When such enormous number of devices is introduced, the existing network will be exposed to high collision rate and extreme connection delays. In LTE, the uplink resources for random access (RA) procedure will be insufficient, and the number of successfully connected devices will bottom out. 3GPP has proposed some solutions to overcome the congestion during the random access procedure. Access Class Barring (ACB) is the most efficient method which increases the access success rate, but it has a disadvantage in terms of access delay. In this paper, we propose to control the ACB parameters adaptively in order to maximize the use of RA resources. Different from other existing methods, our method is based on predicting the number of accessing devices at the beginning of each RA slot and then adjusting the ACB parameters accordingly. Our results show that, the proposed scheme improves delay up to nearly 70% and converges to optimal throughput.","PeriodicalId":276733,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133217665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The energy used by the data centers (here are included the power for IT equipment and the power for the cooling infrastructure) has increased dramatically. The paper proposes an analysis of Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), the classical metric for measuring energy efficiency in Data Centers (DC). A discussion of its advantages and of its shortcomings is presented. Some complementary metrics and new metrics for improving PUE are synthesized. This analysis can help researchers to identify the main trends of Energy Efficiency assessment in DC.","PeriodicalId":276733,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE)","volume":"12 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132733589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach will be applied for a PMSM used to propel an electric scooter, preceding its integration in a more complex experimental setup. The emerging need for powerful, flexible system-on-a-chip (SoC) platforms for developing complex drive systems have brought to attention FPGAs. These units offer high performance, rapid prototyping and parallel computation capability for the envisaged control algorithms. The Xilinx System Generator (XSG) tool allows the design of the proposed vector control system, under Simulink environment. It uses specialized blocks in order to facilitate the real-time behavior validation. The controllers required for this control strategy are modelled and implemented by means of XSG tools on a Digilent Anvyl Spartan-6 FPGA, inserted in the complete Simulink control structure. Subsequently, hardware co-simulation is performed, in order to test the performances of the system at real-time stimuli.","PeriodicalId":276733,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133554486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For non-linear state estimation, the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) is a well-known extension of the linear Kalman filter. Operation of the UKF algorithm strongly depends on the process and measurement noise covariance parameters of the estimator. Determination of these parameters is not straightforward and can be difficult, especially if the number of state variables and hence the system complexity is relatively high. In this paper, the UKF algorithm is applied for speed sensorless state estimation of induction machines in such a way that seven state variables are estimated from the measured stator currents and from the known excitation voltages. In order to tune the noise parameters of the UKF, a new, optimization-based method is presented. This tuning method provides adequate behavior for the observer beside difficult operating conditions as it has been shown by simulation experiment.","PeriodicalId":276733,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126636066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
