Several repair techniques have been developed in recent years in order to address ecological concerns related to the usage of CFRPs. Nevertheless according to the current state of the art damaged high performance products are disposed in most cases. In this paper a methodology is presented on how to establish repair as a process in prepreg and autoclave based manufacturing. Furthermore the results of a practical implementation in the research laboratory “Green Factory Bavaria” are shown.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125821876","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Al-Si-Cu-Ni-Mg alloy was used as the matrix metal, and two kinds of short alumina fibers were used as the reinforcements. The cutting force values of the alloy were reduced by the fiber reinforcement under every cutting condition. The lower the hardness of the fiber in the composite was, the lower the cutting force of the composite was. The roughness of the machined surface decreased by the fiber reinforcement. This result and the in situ observation of cutting process revealed that the fibers in the composite suppress the formation of the built-up edge. The observation of chip forms indicated that the fibers in the composite facilitated the shear deformation of the chips because the fibers were easily sheared by the cutting. Continuous chips were formed after cutting the unreinforced alloy, while serrated chips were formed after cutting the composites. The lower the hardness of the fiber in the composite was, the lower the tool wear was.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132282994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The GPC control is also integrated in the synthesis of state feedback control; the optimal control problem for the predictive state feedback control is reformulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The both control theories are applied in the control of a bioreactor system with multi-model representation around different operating points and the obtained simulation results are compared. The advantage of the proposed PID approach is the simplicity of implementation in real-time processing.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132460278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Time-resolved photoluminescence and resonant pump-probe were performed, at variable temperature. At low temperature, a long-spin relaxation time has been measured, in agreement with the OD zero-dimensional confinement and the quenching of the relaxation mechanisms. When the temperature increases, the thermal activation of carriers becomes dominant and the spin relaxation increases.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"203 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133935801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed scheme consists of a wind turbine, SPSEIG, Rectifier and IGBT based voltage source inverter, which keeps the generated voltage constant despite the change in the connected load. The modulation index of the proposed inverter is adjusted to obtain a constant output voltage. A mathematical model of the SPSEIG with this regulator supplying different types of loads is derived for studying the behavior of the system under transient and dynamic conditions. Simulation results are used to demonstrate the validity of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133736279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides the amount of the energy obtained, its qualitative aspect is as much as important, as it is accounted in the renewable energy share. Considering the Brazilian agricultural activity, the energy production from biomass can be still significantly increased and energy cogeneration from biomass burning is one of the process that contributes to support this grow. As an example, almost all of the more than 500 sugar cane mills in Brazil burn the sugar cane bagasse to generate electrical energy. The main waste from the energy cogeneration is the biomass ash, a mix of mineral compounds and remained carbon-based components. Portland cements and concretes are the most widely used manufactured materials in the world, consuming large quantities of raw materials and energy and being responsible for a significant share of the CO2 emissions. One of the main strategies to reduce the environmental impacts from cement production is to combine the cement clinker to supplementary cement materials (SCM), resulting in blended cements. This paper focus on the potential of biomass ashes resulted from the energy cogeneration as SCM in cement-based materials. There are presented results from research in which sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) are used as SCM, resulted in cement composites and concretes with improved properties.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131330415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This concern becomes more significant today because of lack of conventional Automatic Generation Control (AGC) and spinning reserves which introduce new issues for providing ancillary services. Moreover, due to increasing renewable energy penetration in power systems, conventional controllers may be unable to maintain the system stability. In response to this issue, this paper presents an intelligent control algorithm using fuzzy logic and particle swarm optimization (PSO). Furthermore, the effect of Demand Response (DR) in continuously balancing generation and demand, when the output from wind and photovoltaic (PV) varies naturally, is proposed. Simulation results are examined on an islanded microgrid case study. The performance of the proposed controller is compared with conventional control design and the effect of DR in fast power compensation is proved.","PeriodicalId":275696,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Solar Energy and Building (ICSoEB)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123442391","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can able to exploit the results obtained after validation from literature. In particular, it has been able to value the effects of different characteristic parameters of the strengthening of a specific material rate injected fibers.
