The PV panel/array is connected with the converters with the MPPT techniques (P&O algorithm) which extracts the maximum power from the PV. The converter performs the buck or boost operation depending on the requirement and the output voltage from these converters are given to the Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) of the rated voltage 415V. The inverter converts the DC voltage to its equivalent AC voltage and AC voltage of 415V is given as the input to the three-phase Induction Motor (Three-phase IM) which further drives the centrifugal pump. Here, three converters namely SEPIC, Zeta, Landsman converters are used and their performances are investigated. Also the comparative study of the three converters is done and the results of various parameters obtained at the output of the three converters along with the output parameters of the motor and centrifugal pump. The simulation and execution of these three PV based pumping application systems are done in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. This paper concentrates on a ramp comparison method which mainly focus on pulse width modulation (PWM). In PWM, the reference with compensated error is compared to a triangle waveform. The desired reference current from the inverter is produced through the generated reference signal. Nevertheless, the conventional method becomes complex in determining the reference signal if the system's ac main voltage varied. Thus, this paper proposes a simplified equation of the reference signal in order to cut down the mathematical complexity. The simplified method is verified using a 5 kVA single phase half-bridge grid-tied inverter. This research deals with mathematical modeling, analysis of stability, analysis of step response, ABCD matrix, controllability, observability and peak percentage of the battery system. In addition, the output of the battery model is observed in Simulink. After that, the critically damped state-space design method by using state feedback method is discussed and implemented in Simulink. The battery model is implemented in Simulink using DC machine for charge and discharge and two ways of SOC estimation discuss with implementation in Simulink. The proposed converter provides high output voltage gain with wide zero voltage switching (ZVS) range. The converter achieves wide load variation by utilizing variable frequency control, where the gain of the converter is analyzed in relation with the tank impedance that depends on the switching frequency to resonant frequency ratio. Moreover, the utilizing of the magnetizing inductance and the phase shifted angle ensures the achievement of the ZVS for all switches. The proposed converter was simulated using MATLAB-Simulink software. It was found that the variable frequency control is suitable for LLC resonant converters in terms of obtaining wide load variation. For this purpose, a wind turbine simulator (WTS) is designed and developed using MATLAB/Simulink. The actual wind turbine is replaced with a DC motor in order to replicate the speed and/or torque. The intelligent DC-DC power converter of half-bridge type has been designed to drive the motor in controlled way. Two different control structures, for static and the dynamic characteristic replication separately, have been designed. Isolated WECS of the type fixed-pitch with the structure horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) having three blades is opted for the modeling and performance analysis of the proposed WTS. The obtained simulation results confirm that the developed WTS is able to mimic the static as well as dynamic characteristics of the real WECS. The aim is to reduce the chattering effect that arises when utilizing conventional sliding mode controllers (SMC). This is achieved by introducing the adaptation laws that allow the controllers gains to be self-tuned towards their optimum values. Furthermore, the discontinuous signum function is replaced by continuous functions in the controller structure. To verify the proposed control scheme, a grid-connected PV system which comprises of a 4.6 kW PV generator, a dc/dc boost converter, a three-level NPC voltage source inverter (VSI) and an R-L filter is considered for simulation using Matlab/Simulink. The ac-side control unit includes: an outer dc bus voltage controller, an inner grid current controller and a phase angle estimator. The electric machines have numerous sources of losses which are converted into the heat. These losses heat up the machine and have an impact on the total efficiency. There is an effort to reduce the losses to a minimum value without increasing the size and the weight of the machines. In this paper, two induction machines are compared by using analytical formulas for determining the mechanical losses. Thereafter the measured values are compared with existing formulas and their accuracy is evaluated. Furthermore the overall deviance of the result in the calculation and design of the machine is discussed. The two-stage converter is composed of the isolated CLLC bidirectional resonant converter and the non-isolated bidirectional converter. The CLLC converter has the symmetric resonant tank and is operated in the high-frequency which can reduce the volume of the transformer. The purpose of this converter is high-frequency isolation without control. The converter is operated in the resonant frequency and the gain is maintained to unity. The non-isolated converter performs the charging and discharging control. This converter has half-bridge structure which has problem in regard of the serious voltage stress of the switches by the hard-switching. To reduce the power loss and achieve the high efficiency, SiC-MOSFET is used in both converters. This causes the tracking of the maximum power point (MPP) a more complicated thing. Popular MPP tracking (MPPT) algorithms are exhibited to be effectual under uniform insolation condition. But they may lose the entire MPP under partial shaded condition (PSC). This paper proposes a new method to track the entire MPP (EMPP) under PSC. By calculating all the local MPP (LMPP), and chooses the highest one and employs the perturbation and observation algorithm (P and O) this LMPP. This control method suffers from the limitation of torque loop bandwidth since the frequency carriers are generated by the same software used for system control. The performance of CFTC depends mainly on the torque loop bandwidth; the higher the bandwidth, the better the performance of CFTC-DTC drive. This paper proposes a modification on the frequency carriers of CFTC to increase the torque loop bandwidth. Unlike the conventional CFTC, the carriers of proposed CFTC are generated by ramp waveforms resulting in 50 % increase of the carrier frequency.
