In a bid to cope with challenges of increasing demand for higher data rate, better quality of service and higher network capacity, there is a migration from Single Input Single Output (SISO) antenna technology to a more promising Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna technology. OFDM combined with MIMO increases the diversity gain and enhances system performance. Adaptive Receivers are employed in MIMO-OFDM systems (AMUD MIMO-OFDM) to achieve a better performance. In this paper, simulation results are obtained for SISO-OFDM, MIMO-OFDM and AMUD MIMO-OFDM for 2×2 and 4×4 antennas and the capacity results are obtained for different antenna configurations and for SISO-OFDM, MIMO-OFDM and AMUD MIMO-OFDM. The simulation results show that AMUD MIMO-OFDM performs better when compared to SISO-OFDM and MIMO-OFDM in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR).","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125058022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Realization of such a filter has already been reported by the authors [1]. However, analysis presented therein neglects the effect of residual stress, which may result in a significant modification of the beam actuation voltage. The issue is addressed here. This paper presents the simulated results as well as theoretically calculated results of a comb line filter due to the presence of residual stress gradient in respect of actuation voltage and spring constant of fixed-fixed beam characteristics for gold films. Modal analysis of the fixed-fixed beam structures are carried out for different values of residual stress gradients. Modal analysis predicts that higher values of tensile residual stress gradient are not favourable for fixed-fixed beam filter action. Modal analysis of fixed-fixed beam is analyzed by mechanical simulation tool COVENTORWARE-2008®.","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125106416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, many algorithms for gene expression analysis require a complete matrix of gene array values as input. Thereore, effective missing value estimation methods are essential to minimize the effect of incomplete data sets on analysis, and to increase the range of data sets to which these algorithms can be applied. In this regard, a new interpolation based imputation method is proposed to predict missing values in microarray gene expression data. The proposed method selects a subset of similar genes and a subset of similar samples with respect to each missing position and then applies interpolation in a novel manner to predict that missing value. The performance of the proposed method is studied based on the normalized root mean square error with existing estimation techniques including K-nearest neighbor (KNN), Sequential K-nearest neighbor (SKNN) and Iterative K-nearest neighbor (IKNN). The effectiveness of the proposed method, along with a comparison with existing methods, is demonstrated on different microarray data sets.","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126083120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The original PTS provides good PAPR reduction at the cost of computational complexity. The use of large number of IFFT blocks in PTS has been replaced by a single IFFT block. The parallel processing of the PTSs has been replaced by serial processing. Reducing the number of IFFT blocks and replacing parallel processing by serial processing reduces the computational complexity. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed technique provides performance as good as standard PTS.","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123588383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to strong localization coupled with discreteness in a nonlinear K-G lattice, there is a formation of breathers and multi-breathers that manifest in the localized peaks across the domains in polarization-space-time plot. To probe the quantum states related to discrete breathers for the application in nano technology, the same K-G lattice is quantized to give rise to quantum breathers (QBs) that are explained by a periodic boundary condition. Secondly, in a non-periodic boundary condition, the temporal evolution of quanta shows interesting behavior as a function of impurity that is important from design viewpoint for the THz applications.","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122686562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has potential applications in diverse fields including automatic surveillance of large areas, illegal vehicle movement tracking in remote areas etc. This technique poses many challenges in terms of retaining only the target pixels by identifying and removal of noise pixels efficiently. In the case of detecting stationary targets concealed by foliage, traditional imaging techniques in the visible domain fail and Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) imagery in the UWB-VHF (20-90 MHz) band comes to rescue. However, these foliage penetrating frequencies are also prone to high frequency speckle noise which asks for a robust target detecting technique. In this paper, one such algorithm based on Incoherent Change Detection and adaptive thresholding by Stein's Unbiased Risk Estimate (SURE) is proposed. The images used for testing were a set of 24 CARABAS-II VHF SAR images taken during a flight campaign in Sweden in the year 2002. The code has been written in MATLAB Platform and is able to successfully locate all the regions where the target is present and the False Alarm Rate (FAR) is also minimal. The execution times of the code for various image sets are also very promising and lie in the range 16-26 seconds for all the images chosen.","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"19 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114130450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Classical VHO mechanisms lacks to expedite the effect of spectrum sensing for network selection which greatly affects the Quality of Experience (QoE) of both Access Node (AN) and Mobile Node (MN). Therefore, Paper proposes Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), which measures error in modulation quality and characterizes neighboring ANs. To maximize the overall network resource utility, EVM based multi-tenderee bidding model is proposed which utilises cooperative game theory. Performance is compared with classical MADM bidding model in terms of network bid value and total HetNet payoff. Results show that EVM based bidding increases the payoff by ~ 49.3% when compared with classical MADM bidding model.","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117103103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method is developed in a variational framework which reduces to a minimization problem. The proposed model consists of two terms viz. data fidelity term and regularization function and to make a proper balance between these two terms during the filtering process a regularization parameter has been introduced. For digital implementations, the proposed model has been discretized using finite difference schemes. A comparative study of the proposed scheme has also been performed with the other existing techniques in terms of mean square error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), correlation parameter (CP) and mean structure similarity index map (MSSIM).","PeriodicalId":274831,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communications, Devices and Intelligent Systems (CODIS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129817405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
