It is used as a food supplement due to its high biological active properties. After extracting crude propolis with various solvents, it is used as propolis extracts. The best propolis extraction is 70% ethanol, ecological solvents are preferred because of some side effects of alcohol. Recently, deep eutectic solvents and ecological solvents have attracted interest in the extraction of propolis. In this study, the solubility of raw propolis in honey was investigated. The results were evaluated as total phenolic content and total antioxidant activity. In the study carried out with water: honey solvents in different ratios, it was determined that the most ideal ratio was 1:20. As a result, the production of such solvents from beehive products further encourages diversification of bee products and the discovery of new applications using environmentally friendly solutions.","PeriodicalId":274781,"journal":{"name":"Turkish Journal of Analytical Chemistry","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114286339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influences of initial pH values, concentrations of MB and IC, period of contact, dosages of the natural and modified plane sawdust, and the presence of foreign ions on the adsorption of dyes were investigated in the experimental studies to describe the best conditions of the most efficient adsorption processes. Initial pH values were optimized to be between 6.0-8.0 for MB and 2.0 for IC. Experimentations of Boehm titration, FTIR analysis, pHpzc value, and moisture content determinations were utilized to characterize the natural and modified sawdust materials. Langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm models were used to evaluate the sorption mechanism. Maximum adsorption capacities of natural plane sawdust (NPS) and H2SO4-modified plane sawdust (MPS) calculated from the Langmuir isotherm model were 55.56 and 38.46 mg g-1 in MB adsorption, and 55.82 and 55.55 mg g-1 in IC adsorption, respectively. Results showed that the natural and H2SO4-modified plane sawdust serve as low-cost and efficient materials in the adsorptive removal of MB and IC dyes for industrial wastewater treatment applications.","PeriodicalId":274781,"journal":{"name":"Turkish Journal of Analytical Chemistry","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124241045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This disease can cause death and permanent damage to vital organs such as the kidney, heart, and brain. However, when hypertension is treated effectively, these risk factors may decrease significantly. Although many antihypertensive drugs are used in the treatment of hypertension, ACE inhibitors are a new class among these drugs, and their separation and quantitative determinations are important for the success of preclinical, biopharmaceutical, and clinical studies. For this reason, in this study, the simultaneous determination of cilazapril, benazepril, and quinapril from ACE inhibitors, the validation of the developed method, and the quantitative determination of commercial drug dosage forms are aimed. To obtain the optimum liquid chromatographic separation condition, a systematic approach based on the relationship between mobile phase pH and retention time was used. The mobile phase organic modified concentration and column temperature parameters, which are known to affect the retention times of the compounds, were kept constant. When deciding on these parameters, few experiments were carried out.","PeriodicalId":274781,"journal":{"name":"Turkish Journal of Analytical Chemistry","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114855104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the heavy metal pollution risk of listvenite-derived soils in the region where listvenitized ultrabasic rocks are present as a result of hydrothermal alterations in the vicinity of Alakeçi (Bayramiç Çanakkale/Western Türkiye) was investigated with pollution index, geoaccumulation index and integrated pollution risk parameters. For this purpose, Cu, Zn, Pb element concentrations of 350 soil samples collected from the field were determined, and Pollution Index (PI) and Geo-accumulation Index (Igeo) parameters for each element and Integrated Pollution Index (IPI) parameters for each sampling point were calculated. In addition, distribution maps of PI, Igeo and IPI parameters were plotted. When the site is considered in terms of IPI parameter, it has been determined that the site has medium and high pollution risk. When the field is considered in terms of PI and Igeo parameters, a remarkable level of pollution has been detected in the field, especially by Ni, Co and As elements. When the distribution maps of the PI, Igeo and IPI parameters are examined, it has been determined that the pollution risk is higher than the other areas, especially in the areas where hydrothermal alteration is intense and in the tectonic line areas. Although listvenitizations and listvenite zones are important target areas especially for epithermal gold mineralizations, this study has shown that listvenitization areas are also areas at risk of heavy metal pollution. Therefore, listvenitization zones are areas that should be investigated in terms of heavy metal pollution risk as well as epithermal gold mineralization potentials.","PeriodicalId":274781,"journal":{"name":"Turkish Journal of Analytical Chemistry","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125793112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
