Morfologi umbi berkaitan erat dengan struktur anatomi batang yang berdiferensiasi dengan pola rongganya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan sel-sel batang M. pendens selama proses diferensiasi dan mengamati struktur anatomi umbi beserta pola rongganya. Slide anatomi sel umbi dari lima fase perkembangan awal diferensiasi batang M. pendens dibuat dengan metode parafin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya diferensiasi yang terjadi pada parenkim korteks dekat berkas pembuluh dan sel-sel parenkim berubah menjadi sel-sel felogen. Aktivitas sel-sel felogen menyebabkan sel-sel penyusun batang M. pendens lisis lalu membentuk rongga, sel-selnya berdiferensiasi, dan terjadi pembesaran organ menjadi umbi. Pola rongga M. pendens dengan habitat di dataran tinggi yaitu rongga terbentuk dari bagian basal umbi dengan satu lubang pembukaan, kemudian meluas hingga ke arah pucuk dan bercabang membentuk ruang rongga. Sel-sel penyusun batang M. pendens dari luar ke dalam yaitu felem, felogen, feloderm, sel permukaan dalam rongga berupa felem pada rongga pertama, dan sel-sel kutil pada percabangan ruang rongga. I. buennemeijeri where previously reported to be endemic to Mt. Malintang, Likewise, I. delectans and I. diepenhorstii were reported as Mt. Kerinci endemics but are successfully collected here in the forests of Mt. Singgalang. Sebagian masyarakat Indonesia masih mengenal dan menggunakan kentongan di tengah pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan informasi seperti saat ini. Studi etnobotani dilakukan untuk mengkaji lebih mendalam tentang kearifan lokal masyarakat mengenai kentongan. Metode yang digunakan berupa observasi di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia dan wawancara secara acak terpilih. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil kajian diperoleh data keanekaragaman jenis bambu dan kayu kentongan yaitu bambu ori (Bambusa blumeana Schult.f.), bambu petung (Dendrocalamus asper (Schult.) Backer), bambu apus (Gigantochloa apus (Schult.) Kurz), bambu wulung (G. atroviolacea Widjaja), kayu nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.), kayu jati (Tectona grandis L.f.), kayu kelapa (Cocos nucifera L.), kayu mahoni (Swietenia mahagoni (L.) Jacq.), dan kayu sengon (Albizia chinensis (Osbeck) Merr.). Ukuran dan bentuk fisik kentongan bervariasi. Nilai-nilai sosial dan religius kentongan sejalan dengan perkembangan zaman, serta penyelamatan nilai budaya dan konservasi keanekaragaman hayati bahan baku kentongan agar tidak terkikis perubahan zaman. Darma, Rajif Iryadi, Info Artikel","doi":"10.14203/bkr.v24i2.627","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14203/bkr.v24i2.627","url":null,"abstract":"Dicksonia blumei (Kunze) T.Moore merupakan salah satu jenis paku pohon yang diprioritaskan untuk dikonservasi sebagaimana yang diamanatkan di dalam CITES appendix II. Salah satu sebaran alaminya adalah Kepulauan Sunda Kecil dimana tercatat ada sepuluh spesimen D. blumei di Bali (Batukaru dan Bedugul). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan informasi mengenai kesesuaian habitat dan arahan lokasi untuk reintroduksi jenis D. blumei di Bukit Tapak, Bedugul, Bali. Permodelan dilakukan dengan metode maksimum entropi (Maxent). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah topografi, iklim dan tanah dimana tersebar titik D. blumei di Bali. Data tersebut kemudian digabungkan dengan data keberadaan Alsophila latebrosa sebagai salah satu inang tumbuh dari D. blumei di alam. Performa model menunjukkan hasil yang luar biasa dengan nilai training data Area Under the Curve (AUC) sebesar 0,997 dan nilai test data AUC sebesar 0,967. Variabel iklim yang paling dominan adalah b10 (rerata suhu pada quartal terpanas) yaitu 25,8%. Zonasi kesesuaian habitat D. blumei juga cukup luas yaitu ± 15 km2 pada kawasan Bedugul (Kabupaten Tabanan dan Buleleng). Detail titik lokasi untuk arahan reintroduksi/restorasi didapatkan dengan menggunakan interpretasi citra Pleaides melalui proses perhitungan statistik spectral library dari kanopi A. latebrosa. Hasil deteksi dengan pendekatan interpretasi citra Pleiades diperoleh akurasi sebesar 88%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan populasi, asosiasi, dan keterancaman habitat N. bicalcarata di Cagar Alam Mandor, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis vegetasi, asosiasi jenis tumbuhan menggunakan indeks Ochiai, dan metode unsupervised classification pada citra Landsat 8 untuk mengetahui perubahan penutupan lahan. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan data vegetasi tumbuhan menggunakan sepuluh plot berukuran 10Í10 m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa N. bicalcarata tersebar di delapan dari 14 kabupaten/kota di Kalimantan Barat. Populasi N. bicalcarata pada hutan kerangas berjumlah 300 individu/ha dan dan berasosiasi dengan jenis pohon Cratoxylum glaucum, Gymnostoma nobile, Antidesma coriaceum, Ficus variegata, dan Tristaniopsis merguensis. N. bicalcarata juga berasosiasi dengan Nepenthes lainnya, seperti N. ampullaria, N. rafflesiana, N. gracilis, N. mirabilis dan N. hookeriana. Perubahan penutupan lahan yang signifikan mengakibatkan peningkatan luasan areal terbuka dan pertambangan, sehingga mengancam habitat dan populasi N. bicalcarata. Kelimpahan N. bicalcarata di CA Mandor diprediksi akan semakin berkurang dengan adanya ancaman perubahan penutupan lahan tersebut. Gailing","doi":"10.14203/bkr.v24i2.724","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14203/bkr.v24i2.724","url":null,"abstract":"Rotan jernang (Calamus spp.) merupakan salah satu sumber penghasilan yang penting bagi masyarakat Desa Seko Besar dan Taman Bandung yang bermukim di dekat hutan alam di Kabupaten Sarolangun, Jambi. Kulit buah jernang mengandung resin merah yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi karena bermanfaat sebagai bahan baku obat dan pewarna alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi jenis-jenis jernang di daerah tersebut, mengkaji perbedaan dari setiap jenis, mengetahui pemanfaatan, cara pengolahan resin jernang secara tradisional, upaya pelestarian dan mengetahui nilai guna dan nilai budaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah wawancara langsung berdasarkan kriteria tertentu (snowball sampling) terhadap 40 responden, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Nilai guna dihitung dengan menggunakan Use Value (UV) dan nilai nilai budaya dihitung dengan menggunakan Index of Cultural Significance (ICS). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan empat jenis-jenis jernang di Desa Seko Besar dan Taman Bandung yaitu Calamus draco Willd. (jernang rambai), C. micracanthus Griff. (jernang kelamuai), C. maculatus (J.Dransf.) W.J.Baker (jernang bengkarung), dan C. didymophyllus (Becc.) Ridl. (jernang burung). Pemanfaatan jernang secara tradisional oleh masyarakat yaitu sebagai obat untuk menyembuhkan beberapa penyakit dan bahan kerajinan tangan. Upaya pelestarian dan budidaya yang oleh masyarakat yaitu dengan menanam jernang pada kebun karet di sekitar pekarangan rumah dan pemanenan buah yang tidak merusak tanaman induknya. Nilai UV tertinggi terdapat pada jenis C. draco dan C. micracanthus yaitu 1,00 dan terendah C. maculatus yaitu 0,85. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman, struktur tegakan, regenerasi, dan asosiasi pohon G. macrophyllus dan G. velutinus di kelompok hutan Sungai Lipai-Sungai Pelalawan, Riau. Pengumpulan data menggunakan plot bujur sangkar ukuran 100 x 100m (1 ha), dibagi menjadi 25 sub plot ukuran 20 x 20m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa G. macrophyllus dan G. velutinus dijumpai pada ketinggian antara 200 – 240 m dpl., di lereng bukit dengan topografi agak curam pada >10%, dan berkelompok. Komposisi vegetasi di sekitar pohon Gonystylus spp. yaitu pelajau (Pentaspadon motleyii Hook.f.) (INP= 21,2%), rambutan hutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) (INP= 12,66%) dan petatal (Ochanostahys amentacea Mast.) (INP= 11,42%). Jenis yang berasosiasi paling kuat dengan G. macrophyllus dan G. velutinus adalah Pentaspadon motleyii, yang ditunjukkan oleh indeks Ochiai sebesar 0,63; diikuti Gironiera subaequalis Planch. (indeks Ochiai 0,55) dan jenis Trigoniastrum hypoleucum Miq. (indeks Ochiai 0,51). Mursidawati, Adhityo Wicaksono","doi":"10.14203/bkr.v24i2.670","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14203/bkr.v24i2.670","url":null,"abstract":"The controlling mechanisms for the growth and differentiation of Rafflesia from a flower bud into the anthesis stage is currently unknown, particularly if any plant growth regulator (PGR) physiological pathways play some type of roles. In the wild, the number of flower buds available to study are extremely limited. In this study, we grouped six flower buds of Rafflesia patma Blume into three different treatments: two buds injected with auxin (indoleacetic acid, IAA), two buds injected with cytokinin (kinetin), and two buds injected with sterile distilled water as a control. Buds enlarged with both IAA and kinetin treatments compared to the control, but only buds injected with IAA showed a transition stage with the bract revealed (cupule-bract stage from previously cupule stage) within two weeks of five weeks of observation. These results raise further questions whether Rafflesia development is more likely due to auxin exposure when in flower bud as compared to cytokinin. The combination of WorldView-2 imagery and machine learning algorithms can be an alternative approach for estimating vegetation biomass in Bogor Botanic Gardens. The research aimed to determine the variables from WorldView-2 imagery that can be used to estimate the vegetation biomass of Bogor Botanic Gardens, to identity several types of machine learning algorithms that produce the best prediction in estimating vegetation biomass in the field, to estimate and to map vegetation biomass in Bogor Botanic Gardens. The variables that had a significant correlation with biomass were NIR-reflectance, Blue-Correlation, Green-Correlation, NIR-Mean, and NIR-Variance. The NIR-Mean variable was the most important variable for estimating vegetation biomass. The random forest algorithm produced the best model for estimating vegetation biomass with r, PBIAS, RMSE, MAE and RSR values of 0,83, -11,51%, 185,47 Mg/ha, 139,43 Mg/ha, and 0,56 respectively. The estimated vegetation biomass of the Bogor Botanic Gardens had a range from 6,27 to 1.576,90 Mg/ha with an average of 183,96 Mg/ha and total biomass of 13,23 Gg. The combination of WorldView-2 imagery and the Random Forest algorithm produced a good predictive model compared to Artificial Neural Network and Support Vector Machine for estimating the vegetation biomass of Bogor Botanic Gardens. Radlk. is a potential plant to be developed as a fruit tree and timber. A comprehensive observation of the reproductive stage of this species is still limited. In order to achieve a continuous and sequenced observation, a phenological study was conducted in Cibodas Botanic Gardens (CBG). This study aimed to observe the flowering and fruiting phase phenology of M. pentapetalus and analyze the microclimate’s effect related to the cycle. The observation conducted to three specimens of M. pentapetalus which were planted in January 1979 (Specimen I), January 1985 (Specimen II) and January 1987 (Specimen III), at CBG. The study used descriptive quantitative analysis based on the exploratoryinventory observation of flowering and fruiting phase data of Specimen I, and the microclimate conditions, both are assessed from 2014 to 2018. Specimen II and III were only observed for their phenology in 2019. The results showed that the microclimates condition of CBG for five years was relatively less diverse, except for precipitation (σ ≈ 1.367). This results suspected influenced the reproductive stages that dominantly occurred in the early and at the end of the year. In these periods occurred an increase in rainfall that emerges the flowers and nextdevelopment into the fruiting phase.
