By means of the equation of optics, the dimensions of materials that fill the dielectric resonators have been found. A value computational calculus of scattering S11 and S21 of elliptical dielectric coupled resonators is made and the possible uses in microwave filters are discussed.","PeriodicalId":274362,"journal":{"name":"2012 VI Andean Region International Conference","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133548934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes a method for on-line movement identification, oriented to patient's movement evaluation during physiotherapy. An analysis based on Mahalanobis distance between temporal windows is performed to identify the \"idle/motion\" state, which defines the beginning and the end of the patient's movement, for posterior patterns extraction based on Relative Wavelet Energy from sequences of invariant moments.","PeriodicalId":274362,"journal":{"name":"2012 VI Andean Region International Conference","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128046050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Geometry of the objects is invariant to light, rotation, position, dirtiness, etc., and for quality inspection purposes in a manufacture line it is a main concern. Gathering 3D information from objects under inspection is done in this research work, combining stereo vision and structured light in order to simplify the correspondence problem in the stereo images pair. All the results are quantified in a prototype built with two cameras and a structured light source.","PeriodicalId":274362,"journal":{"name":"2012 VI Andean Region International Conference","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123787539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rotating electrical machines are vital elements in the modern world, they generate the electrical energy used in all sectors of society, they also convert the electrical energy into mechanical power, to drive all kinds of processes where movement is required. Therefore, it is important to ensure that they operate efficiently and reliably. The lifetime of an rotating electrical machine is defined by the operation temperature of the insulation system, in this way, the temperature increase in insulation of electrical machines above stated limits, is considered as an important cause of deterioration and reducing the lifetime of the engine, therefore, in machines of great importance or laboratory tests, it is essential to have a thermal monitoring system. This paper deal with the design of a wireless system for on-line thermal monitoring that can be applied to any type of rotating electrical machines.","PeriodicalId":274362,"journal":{"name":"2012 VI Andean Region International Conference","volume":"162 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134366261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

UDP has no control if packets are not received, therefore to create applications better-suited for wireless long distance link, a close approximation to UDP behavior has to be made. This paper presents results of enhancing wireless link budget based on QoS over layer 2 and 3 with a modified Radio Controlled Car. The controllable distance with line of sight (LOS) is considerably higher compared to normal RC Cars and WiFi range with a home router. QoS gives driving instruction packets priority over video packets to increase effective driving range and diminish the congestion of video UDP traffic in the link.","PeriodicalId":274362,"journal":{"name":"2012 VI Andean Region International Conference","volume":"268 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114259347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
