Microgrid is able to increase efficiency of power generation. The fluctuation of renewable generators in microgrid affects to power quality and reliability in the power system. These problems can be solved by the installation of battery in microgrid. The proposed algorithms consist of correlation between solar irradiation and temperature model. The output power and useful heat can be calculated by steady state model. Generation unit commitment will be covered with combined heat and power (CRP) to increase fuel efficiency. Therefore, an appropriate battery capacity is investigated in this paper. Lead-acid battery is the proposed battery that used in this paper. The proposed algorithm has been tested with IEEE14 buses. For indoor mobile robot, since a global positioning system (GPS) is incapable, another promising technique to detect the position is the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) from wireless communication. To improve the precision and robustness of mobile unit localization, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) is normally used. In this report, we propose the algorithm for mobile robot localization based on sensor fusion between RSSI from wireless local area network (WLAN) and an IMU. The proposed fusion scheme is based on the extended Kalman filter (EKF). Three types of metamaterials are considered: the double negative material (DNG), the isotropic μ-negative material (IMNG), and the anisotropic μ-negative material (AMNG). Through the transmission analysis, it is found that evanescent wave components are amplified by the metamaterial slabs, and the amplification is the highest for AMNG due to the presence of resonances. At our first processing stage, we propose image segmentation via EM to segregate two pixels populations instead of separating original image into the low- and high-frequency components. Our proposed method then enhances the edge by shifting the mean of the two pixels populations away from each other. This is similar to the conventional unsharp masking structure, except that the concept is reformulated and worked in probabilistic setting. At our second stage, we use bilateral filtering to attenuate the retained noise in the flat areas. Performance of synthetic and real clinical B-scan US images based on several dominant image quality measures, e.g., signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise-ratio (CNR), is evaluated. The performance is improved over the conventional US image despeckling methods. It is screens with dissimilar periodicities for bandwidth enhancement, which are regulated by IEEE 802.11b/g and IEEE 802.16a for WLAN and WiMAX applications, respectively. The maximum gain at the resonant frequency of 2.45 GHz and 3.5 GHz are 9.3 dB and 7.3 dB, respectively. The study collects a set of measurement samples in a closed room from an implementation of indoor localization application based on ZigBee Cluster Library (ZCL) framework. The measurement data are analyzed for their statistical parameters. The results are compared with the known properties of RSSI of wireless local area network reported in the literature. Additionally, T-matching technique is also utilized in the antenna design for impedance matching. This antenna was designed on Rogers 5880 printed circuit board (PCB) with the dimension of 43 × 26 × 0.787 mm3 and relative permittivity, □r of 2.2. The performance of the proposed antenna was analyzed in terms of matched impedance, antenna gain, return loss and tag reading range through the simulation in CST Microwave Studio software. To reduce the torque ripple, the commutation interval time should be firstly known. The conventional methods of torque ripple reduction require parameters and commutation interval time computation which is sensitive to parameter variation. The proposed method is robust because the commutation interval time is mainly determined by measured terminal phase voltages. It is also low-cost scheme with minimum number of devices and not sensitive to motor parameters. The purposed method primarily computes the optimal duty ratio applied during commutation intervals to minimize the torque ripple. In addition, the parameters are given only for PV module. Therefore, this research has to expand the model from the module to be the array. Furthermore, the effects of irradiance and temperature affecting on PV cells are considered. The operating mode of inverter to the grid is also considered in this research.
