Since the shape-parameter, alpha, in the Levy distribution results in Cauchy and Gaussian distributions for values of 1 and 2, respectively, one can design adaptive schemes that dynamically change the shape of Levy distribution in generation of offsprings during the evolutionary process in order to exploit the desirable properties of these two distributions. In particular, we introduce a simple adaptive scheme and compare its performance in antenna optimization to adaptive and non-adaptive schemes, previously reported in the literature.","PeriodicalId":273595,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125917700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study is to measure a high electromagnetic field in a selected location by using the diffraction of a target. To realize this measurement, a target, a receiving antenna and a system of acquisition are needed. This method allows to measure high electromagnetic field without risk of receiving antenna breakdown, and disturbs less the field in the zone of the measurement, because no cables are used and the dimensions of the target are small. According to the source and so according to the chosen receiving antenna, the Michelson method can measure as well harmonic signals as transient signals.","PeriodicalId":273595,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123765404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
