It assists to make diagnosis more accurate. In this paper, a new viewing improvement method for lung CT images is introduced. The proposed method consists of two stages. In the first stage, the image was deblurred and sharpened using the unsharp masking method. In the second stage, pre-processed image was enhanced the viewing by a modified method, thresholded local intensity area descriptor. The experiments were conducted on lung CT images from the LIDC-IDRI database. For the viewing improvement evaluation, our method was evaluated subjectively and quantitatively by five different measures of enhancement: Absolute mean brightness error, Edge content, Entropy, Peak signal-to-noise ratio, and Tenengrad criterion. The results clearly indicated that our approach was better than eight contrast enhancement methods. The proposed approach not only improved the contrast of the lung CT images, but also retained information essential for clinical diagnosis. Thus, it is expected to assist in improving the accuracy of diagnosis by physicians and computer-aided detection/diagnosis systems.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115646964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sensor nodes in a network can be very diverse, rich in types and have multiple modes of operation to meet the requirements of practical problems. In outdoor monitoring networks, sensor nodes are frequently able to harvest solar energy to ensure the node operation for a long time. This paper introduces solar-powered sensor nodes for outdoor monitoring operation with the ability of customizing the working schedule, which make it convenient when being used in the realization of optimized network schedule to ensure the long-term operation stability.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121816035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Leakage current measurements undertaken on AlGaN/GaN-based sensor devices were fitted with a parallel diode model. Some sensors were then destructively tested using phosphoric acid etchant to decorate the defects, allowing the density of conductive screw dislocations to be quantified. A strong correlation between diode saturation current and defect density was then established. The remaining devices were encapsulated as working sensors and left in an ionic solution to determine the normalized root mean square error as a measure of drift. This also exhibited a strong correlation with the saturation current, thus establishing a link between semiconductor defect density, leakage current, and uncorrelated drift over time for AlGaN/GaN chemical sensors.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126608527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the efficacy of existing correlation-based range estimate algorithms suffers dramatically under the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). A quadratic correlation algorithm with variable sets of lags is proposed to improve the estimation accuracy in order to overcome this challenge. The time translation parameter is varied in the proposed method to reduce noise influence, and a method for selecting the lag sequence sets is proposed to reduce computing complexity. Firstly, a variable time translation parameter is utilized to extract two signal segments from the received signal. Then, the autocorrelation function of the first signal segment along with the cross-correlation function of the two signal segments are obtained, and the quadratic correlation of the above two correlation functions is calculated for a lag sequence set with an initial lag step. Moreover, the expression for the frequency estimation as well as the range estimation is derived, and the mean and standard deviation of range estimation can be statistically obtained from the range estimates. Finally, if the standard deviation of the range estimation is above the prefixed standard deviation threshold, the lag step is modified and the above range estimation process is repeated; otherwise, the range estimation is obtained. The simulation results show that the proposed quadratic correlation algorithm with variable sets of lags outperforms existing approaches in terms of range accuracy.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"15 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114774869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clean energy such as PV power helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and becomes a global trend. During operation, the PV array can get into fault conditions which affect the system performance if not detected correctly and timely. Traditional PV fault detection methods such as statistical signal processing, power loss analysis, voltage and current measurement have been used to detect and locate fault position. However, these methods accuracy may be affected by installation conditions or PV array materials. In this research, we propose to use machine learning models to detect and classify faults in PV array based on I-V data. The results show that the machine learning models can detect the fault in the PV array with an accuracy of up to 99.74%.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128096283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed control method forces the tracking error to be bounded within a predefined region with a specific convergence rate, hence avoiding the overshoot phenomenon whenever the curvature of the desired path changes. Using the performance function, the original constrained tracking error is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained quantity, and the control signal is then constructed based on this transformed error. In addition, in practice, measuring precisely the entire state of the vehicle is generally demanding, especially the lateral velocity. Hence, the high-gain observer is introduced to estimate the full state of the system, which is then synthesized to the control signal. The stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed by means of the Lyapunov theory. The numerical simulations are carried out using the high-fidelity simulator Carsim and Matlab/Simulink to illustrate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115787064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a novel optimal sub-pattern assignment based human pose assessment (OSPA-HPA) algorithm for automatically quantifying how well people perform poses. We model the human pose as a collection of finite sets of features. Then, the pose quality is measured using the dissimilarities between the collections representing the reference pose and the actual one. Inheriting the advantages of the OSPA distance, the proposed OSPA-HPA algorithm can naturally deal with the problems of feature loss and feature ambiguity. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm was validated using three dance training scenarios.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133171237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The considered network consists of power stations and energy consuming systems connecting via transmission lines. Due to the differences in generation costs and capacities of generators and the demand of consumers, it is highly required to have an optimal coordination in power generation distribution and power transmission. By assuming the cost functions have convex quadratic forms and applying Douglas–Rachford alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM), we design a simple iteration update for each agent (corresponding to one power generators or one energy consumer systems) to determine the optimal power generation distribution (for generator nodes) and the optimal power transmitted to its neighbors in a distributed manner. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified via numerical simulations for a modified IEEE 30-bus test network. We also remark that it can be used to solve the traditional EDP with a small modification in problem setup.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129713705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Weak targets are easily submerged in background noise, and single-frame threshold detection makes many of their feature information lost, making it challenging to track and classify them effectively. Aiming at solving these problems, a multi-frame joint tracking and classification (MF-JTC) method is proposed. The method achieves the accurate estimation of the motion trajectory and target class by jointly processing the radar measurement data in multi-frames. Finally, the results show that compared with the traditional single-frame joint tracking and classification (SF-JTC) method, the proposed method has better tracking and classification performance for weak targets.","PeriodicalId":273404,"journal":{"name":"2022 11th International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128403438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
