To support the analysis of learners' cognitive processes during learning activities, this system will collect not only their learning logs and questionnaires' responses, but also their visual biometric data (eye-movement data). Eye-tracking systems with not only eye safety advance but also precision advance will be used in this research. By analyzing all the collected data, the system will identify learners' characteristics and provide real-time feedbacks in response to their characteristics.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129669946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many researchers have proposed methods using text information for analyzing the market. In this situation, news on the Web has an important role to predict stock prices. In this paper, we propose a method to predict the Nikkei Stock Average, which is one of the most important stock market indexes. We also focus on the evaluation of the prediction. In general, the results are evaluated by some criteria such as recall and precision rates. However, the most important point in the stock market prediction task is not always the accuracy of classifiers. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method with simulated trading on a real stock market. We compare some strategies for the trading, and then discuss relations between the accuracy of classifiers and profit-and-loss. For the purpose, we introduce a criterion computed from the property change graph in each demo-trading. We call it CPC (Criterion based on Property Changes). By using the criterion CPC, we can easily understand the effectiveness of one-day classifiers in terms of the real trading situation.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127178550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Of particular interest to this study is the use of learner-constructed vocabulary notebooks to engage students in the process of intentional vocabulary learning, and ultimately, to enhance their vocabulary acquisition. A Computer Assisted Vocabulary Learning (CAVL) system was developed in this study to assist learners of English as a foreign language. The usage of the CAVL system involved three major steps (i.e., Select, Organize, and Integrate), which engaged learners in watching online videos to intentionally study target words, through the construction of personal vocabulary notebooks. The effectiveness of this system, in combination with the intentional vocabulary learning strategy, was evaluated through a quasi-experimental study with two groups of students from a university in Taiwan. The students' use of vocabulary notebooks, scores of vocabulary tests, individual interviews, and responses to a perception survey were closely analyzed, and the results showed the overall positive impact of the investigated strategy on vocabulary learning. The practical implications of this study are thus discussed to promote the use of digital vocabulary notebooks as an intentional learning strategy in vocabulary instruction.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125307280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In other words, consumers are visual creatures. Although existing literature has explored the influences of the senses and perception on purchasing behavior, there is very little literature deeply exploring the influence of the visual sense on dish preferences in the catering industry. This study adopted purposive sampling and importance-performance analysis. A total of 38 questionnaires were collected, and Excel 2013 was used to analyze the influences of consumers' visual preferences on their levels of love for a dish. The study results show proper color matching can effectively increase the purchase behavior of consumers. The important preference factors include color contrast, harmony, shape matching, and the space design between food and receptacle. The study results can be used as references for the operational practices of the catering industry, and as an academic basis for subsequent studies on food aesthetics by researchers and teachers.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128324551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this research is to develop a system that enables its users to collect and to analyze local event information from social media. In this paper, we have shown the over view and described the implementation of the proposed system. Our system extracts tweets by sentiment polarity classification and visualizes them. In this paper, we described the performance of the sentiment polarity classification and showed that the system is efficient for coordinating tweets. We collected tweets about a local event and classified them manually. The sentiment polarity classification of our system was evaluated by comparing it with the manually classified tweets. We also discussed an example of local event analysis using our system and showed the efficiency of our system.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"507 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123392414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It demonstrates that assigning the publications to departments and disciplines followed by correspondence analysis and clustering of the contingency table comprising disciplinary share of publications results in enhanced understanding and visualization of the research output at different levels of disciplinary or research entities. Such exercise improves creation of publication subsets (for different research entities and disciplinary schemes) for further processing, visualization and interpretation with sophisticated bibliometric/scientometric tools including the science mapping techniques.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126235274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking care of students who were taught insufficiently in high schools and junior high schools is one of them. The follow-up program is aimed at helping students who need basic learning and aimed at assisting teachers who have to engage in teaching a variety of students. The follow-up systems are recognized as a part of the follow-up program, and consist of the learning check testing, follow-up program testing, and collaborative work testing. They are connected to the portfolio system which manages students' scores and behaviors. We have developed the follow-up systems using online testing systems. In the systems, many persons playing roles are involved, such as teachers, students, peer supporters, and item contributors. We adopted the item response theory to evaluate students' learning skills accurately. The systems are now successfully working.","PeriodicalId":272739,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th IIAI International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"231 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115193298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, screenshots are transformed into a compressed moving image by introducing the H.264 video coding standard. Moreover, we integrate a backup system into our system to help users reach files based on their queries.
