Currently, processing of the castor seed is being carried out manually and these manual procedures have been associated with a lot of health hazards, oil losses and also affect the quality and yield of castor oil. Therefore, this study has designed and fabricated a combined roaster and expelling machine for the expression of oil from castor seed. The materials used for the fabrication was selected based on available literatures and local market availability. The machine consists of roaster, hopper, cylindrical barrel, tapered worm shaft, oil outlet and cake outlet. It was powered by a 3 hp three-phase electric motor. The expression efficiency and capacity were determined and given as 73.30% and 3 Kg/h respectively. The machine can also be adopted for other oil bearing seeds that are majorly soft seeds.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"19 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123552373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For determining economic parameter, four study areas were selected and several experiments were conducted during harvesting of Aman-2016, Boro-2017, Aman-2017 and Boro-2018 paddy at Khulna, Barisal, Noakhali and Patuakhali districts of Bangladesh using a mini-combine harvester. The BCR for the mini-combine harvester is 1.52 which indicates the high profit of this hiring service. The payback period of mini-combine harvester was determined as 2.41 year. The break-even point of mini combine harvester is 9.24 ha. The mini-combine harvester will run on fully profit basis if it can be used after that minimum ha. There is a great opportunity to use a mini-combine harvester through CHS by a local service provider (LSP) and custom-hire entrepreneur to avoid initial investment.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"221 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131852421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The agricultural innovation development in mainland China includes three aspects: system, science and technology, and development pattern. The system innovation includes land system and management system innovation. The investment in agricultural science and technology innovation which mainly relies on government is increasing, but the growth rate is relatively slower than the total investment. In the future, enterprises should be encouraged to play a leading role in agricultural science and technology innovation. In the last aspect of development pattern, on the basis of the traditional agriculture development model, we have developed circular agriculture, leisure agriculture, agricultural internet plus. As a whole, the innovation of agriculture system is the foundation of the agricultural innovation development in mainland China, while the innovation of agricultural science and technology is the driving force, and the innovation of agricultural development pattern is the form.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134110935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In India, there is the prevalent social stratification of 'castes' which plays a significant role in assigning work and allocating value along the agricultural value chain. However, the public research establishment tends to overlook these and other socio-technical aspects when they are designing machinery for the farming community. In this paper, we discuss a case of the automated makhana popping machine, an innovation introduced within the makhana value chain a few years back. Makhana is an aquatic cash crop grown in the eastern region of India mostly in the Mithilanchal region of Bihar. We will discuss why it did not diffuse as expected. The understanding gained can be extrapolated to improve the diffusion rate of other such innovations by intervening in the initial stages.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123679166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study developed a research model and hypotheses to investigate how electronic trust (e-trust) and electronic satisfaction (e-satisfaction) could sustain repurchase intention of existing customers and also develop word-of-mouth (WOM) for new customers. Web-based and paper-based survey questionnaires were used to collect data and 300 effective samples (198 web-based and 102 paper-based) were gathered. Structural equation modelling was utilised to test the research hypotheses. The results show that navigation has a positive effect on e-trust and e-satisfaction, and both offline trust and offline satisfaction can be transfer to online context which influence e-WOM and online repurchase intention. Several managerial implications for the operation of a hotel are also provided in this study. For example, a hotel should value its offline satisfaction and offline trust as proceeding in e-commerce business. In addition, a hotel's website needs to contain detail information such as room type, price and discount and the layout should design in simple way so as to make the consumer feel easy to use.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121102349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A rice noodle food safety scandal in 2013 led to new government regulations regarding rice noodle labelling in 2014. We investigated the structural traits of Taiwan's rice noodle industry and the conducts of rice noodle manufacturers regarding the food safety incident and the new regulations by employing the structure-conduct-performance paradigm. The study found that most firms involved in the rice noodle industry in Taiwan are small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Retaining the status quo and registering a regional brand are the two main conducts found by this study. Herein, questions of regional branding in terms of industry and local government conduct are examined alongside the lessons learnt after the scandal and regulation changes.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130178213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of every ongoing reform and execution of plan is to boost productivity and the Pearl River Delta (PRD) and Yangtze River Delta (YRD) have benefited a lot. This study aims at 25 cities, which are at least municipalities in PRD and YRD from 1996 to 2010, applying metafrontier model to consider the differences among regions. We also exempt the impact of environmental variables to reasonably evaluate technical efficiency of regional economics. The result indicates that there exists difference in productivity in PRD and YRD. PRD opens to the outside world earlier; its concept and system are more advantageous than those of the YRD. Moreover, PRD serves as the birthplace of China's system innovation; however, as policies turn the direction to YRD gradually, economic development of PRD goes downhill and its productivity is in an unstable state.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120882438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sixteen key success factors selected on the basis of previous literature were analysed by interviewing paperware packaging machinery manufacturers and experts. We find brand marketing, the establishment of the administration teams, standardised production, procedure management, factory-aimed designed production mix and localised sales service system, inventory management, and accounts receivable to be the six key success factors that are central to Taiwan paperware machinery industry. We hope this finding can assist paperware packaging machinery industry practitioners in Taiwan and other highly service-oriented production industries to achieve business success.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115495892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research problem is how the marketing channel strategy in the coffee bean supply chain considers the position of farmers at a reasonable cost level and proportional profit margins for farmers. This study focused on Robusta coffee which is cultivated by many farmers in Jambi Province as one of the coffees producing regions in Indonesia. The research phase consists of observing supply chain practices and formulating mathematical models to calculate profit margins. There are two types of channel that has been practiced for a long time. The results of the profit margin analysis show that the best supply chain is the second channel and prove that a long supply chain is not efficient for marketing coffee beans because some activities are non-value added.","PeriodicalId":272729,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture Innovation, Technology and Globalisation","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127704068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
