This technique allows using the active filter as a plug-and-play sensorless device, as it is possible to compensate the harmonics produced by the distorting loads just by measuring the PCC voltage, without needing to measure the distorting load current, and just with an approximate knowledge of the grid characteristics. A harmonic extraction structure is designed to calculate the active filter compensating current in the reference frames rotating at different harmonic frequencies. All the harmonic frames are decoupled so to avoid interactions between the control loops. A real-time implementation of Discrete Fourier Transform is utilized for accurate estimation of the fundamental phase and the harmonics amplitudes and phases. No low-pass or band-pass filters are needed for the harmonic identification.","PeriodicalId":272256,"journal":{"name":"SPEEDAM 2010","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116866750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, due to the widespread adoption of advanced power control devices, fault diagnosis of power converters, in particular the voltage source inverter in variable speed AC drives, is becoming more and more important. Although there are different fault types that may occur in these converters, in this paper, only single power switch open-circuit failures are considered in a vector controlled permanent magnet synchronous motor drive. A new real-time algorithm that allows the detection and localization of the faulty device using just the motor phase currents is proposed. Several results under different operating conditions are presented, proving the method effectiveness, low detection time and robustness against false alarms.","PeriodicalId":272256,"journal":{"name":"SPEEDAM 2010","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115674861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dynamic modelling of the drive train components is performed using the software tools specialized for the modelling of electrical and mechanical components. In order to perform a complete system simulation, the method of Co-simulation is used. As an example for the heavy duty drive train, belt conveyor drives used in open pit mines is considered. The electrical components are modelled using the software tool Matlab/Simulink®. The software tool ITI-Sim® is used for the modelling of mechanical components. The verification of the electrical and mechanical simulation model is carried out with the help of the measurements performed in an open pit mine. The simulated results are in good agreement with the measurement results. The paper concludes with the Co-simulation analysis of the three phase and two phase short circuit faults.","PeriodicalId":272256,"journal":{"name":"SPEEDAM 2010","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125020540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These torque ripples vary periodically with rotor position and are reflected as speed ripple, which degrades the PMSM drive performance, particularly at low speeds. In this paper, a simple expression based on the harmonic compensation technique and Fourier series analysis is presented which provides appropriate current shapes to drive a PMSM with less torque ripple. Unlike the intricacy of new schemes based on adaptive control or iterative optimization methods, the proposed approach provides torque ripple minimization without any complexity and it does not need many computations for implementation. To evaluate the effects of this control system a simulation model of PMSM drive based on the MATLAB/ Simulink with detailed authentic results are presented.","PeriodicalId":272256,"journal":{"name":"SPEEDAM 2010","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125395045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, fully digital control is enabled in switch mode power supplies. However, in many cases, the control system is built by very complicatedly and very difficult theories such as the adaptive control. Furthermore, in most popular PID control, its design method of the parameters is not clear, so derivation of the optimal parameters is very difficult. This paper proposes the interesting control technique which is cancelled the transfer function of the converter by using pole-zero-cancellation method. This technique is very simple and easy to stability design.","PeriodicalId":272256,"journal":{"name":"SPEEDAM 2010","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126603527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several methods based on multi point measurement techniques have been proposed proving a good contribution on this filed. In this paper a wireless event-based distributed measurement system has been developed. The proposed wireless network adopts a two-level hierarchical approach to monitor the power network composed by a sensing parts which perform monitoring on Power Quality (PQ) elements and a the management part which control and provide an access point to the distributed network. The proposed network uses the ZibBee wireless interface to distribute the information and the route the request to the remote measurement systems. The access to the sensor network can be performed using a an asynchronous system or a synchronous system, based on NTP modified protocol, to synchronize the remote. Moreover, the network provides an event-based system: when an event occurs, the remote measurement system notifies the Coordinator node which begins to download the data until the event ends. The data are accessible via a Web service Interface which exports all the functionalities of the proposed sensors network to give a complete control of the whole system.","PeriodicalId":272256,"journal":{"name":"SPEEDAM 2010","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115351427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
