However, this biome is highly modified and fragmented, negatively impacting biodiversity. Thus, the present study aimed to inventory the harvestmen fauna in the Fernão Dias Environmental Protection Area (Fernão Dias EPA), in southern Minas Gerais state, Brazil. The study was conducted in the municipality of Gonçalves, within the Fernão Dias EPA. Harvestmen sampling took place from October 2019 to March 2020. A total of 265 individuals from 24 species and morphospecies were collected. Reported six new species for the state: Acanthogonyleptes singularis (Mello-Leitão, 1935), Ampheres luteus (Giltay, 1928), Meteusarcoides caudatus (Piza, 1940), Ogloblinia intermedia (Soares, 1944), Megapachylus anomalus (Mello-Leitão, 1922), and Gonyleptes pseudogranulatus (Soares, 1946). This underscores the importance of the Fernão Dias EPA for the protection of the harvestmen fauna in the state of Minas Gerais.","PeriodicalId":271236,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA CHILENA DE ENTOMOLOGÍA","volume":" 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139143645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Anopheles larvae and biotic and abiotic parameters were collected in artificial breeding sites, where we demonstrated that the dams presented characteristics of natural environments, with good water quality, shaded areas, and the presence of macrophytes, positively influencing the larval abundance of anophelines. The fish ponds are in the process of transitioning from a natural to an altered environment, followed by breeding sites classified as clay pits (anthropized). Macrophyte richness was higher in dams and fish ponds, being responsible for creating microhabitats for larvae and the structure of breeding sites. Ten anopheline species were identified, totaling 1,186 individuals, with an abundance of An. triannulatus (Neiva & Pinto, 1922), An. albitarsis Lynch-Arribálzaga, 1878, An. nuneztovari Gabaldón, 1940 and An. darlingi Root, 1926. Malaria vectors in the region were present in all collection sites. A good part of the physicochemical parameters were in agreement with the current environmental resolution, mainly in less altered environments. Another strong correlation was observed between anophelines and some limnological parameters, which may be an indicator of the presence of these Culicidae in the environments.","PeriodicalId":271236,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA CHILENA DE ENTOMOLOGÍA","volume":"64 S293","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139146761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Su origen es asiático, pero dada su importancia epidemiológica en la transmisión de arbovirus, se hace primordial determinar su rango de distribución, y una manera de hacerlo es mediante vigilancia entomológica, como la que se realiza en las áreas de influencia de las centrales hidroeléctricas de EPM en el departamento de Antioquia (Colombia), la cual fue concebida como una estrategia de detección temprana de vectores. El presente estudio buscó rastrear la presencia de Ae. albopictus en municipios de influencia de las hidroeléctricas Porce II y Porce III, determinar los hábitats de cría más frecuentes y actualizar la distribución en Colombia. El estudio comprendió dos enfoques: 1. Muestreo de adultos (peridomicilio y extradomicilio) y de larvas (sitios de cría naturales y artificiales), y 2. Revisión bibliográfica con el fin de actualizar la distribución de la especie en el país. Se recolectaron 107 ejemplares, 33 adultos (siete machos y 26 hembras) y 74 larvas, siendo las llantas el hábitat de cría de mayor importancia. Se registra por primera vez la presencia de Ae. albopictus en los municipios de Amalfi, Anorí, Gómez Plata, Guadalupe y Tarazá en Antioquia y se actualiza la presencia de la especie en 339 municipios de 23 departamentos en Colombia. Estos resultados aportan información sobre la presencia de Ae. albopictus en centrales hidroeléctricas, permitiendo a las autoridades sanitarias diseñar estrategias oportunas y adecuadas para la vigilancia, prevención y control de arbovirosis en el país.","PeriodicalId":271236,"journal":{"name":"REVISTA CHILENA DE ENTOMOLOGÍA","volume":" 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139143633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
