Pakistan continues to struggle on the path to attaining a genuine and stable democratic system. Absence of political stability has led to constant changes in forms of governments in Pakistan throughout its history. Whether a system of government is directly linked with the economic implications is undecided? This research paper aims to find the answer by examining how a system of government impacts the performance of an economy in a country. The primary aim of this paper was to analyze the economic implications for Pakistan via comparative study of parliamentary and presidential systems of governments. Pakistan has one of the lowest per capita income economies and trade-to-GDP ratios showing at just 30 per cent according to a recent report published by Asian Development Bank. However, it is not all doom and gloom and the country has a lot of room for improvement. Therefore, this paper fills this gap and examines which system of government can help the economic system to flourish more through a comparative study of parliamentary and presidential form of government. The paper provides new perspectives into assessing presidential and parliamentary systems and their role in economic development of Pakistan. The study proposes how economic development can be achieved under a democratic system.","PeriodicalId":270163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management & Business Administration","volume":"251 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115610994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Batticaloa district the number of Micro Loan institutions have increased significantly especially in this last decade. This research is carried out with a main objective to find out the impact of micro loan on women’s livelihood in Manmunai North division of Batticaloa district. In this study, a sample of 150 women from Manmunai North division who have been engaged in microfinance activities for at least 5 years. In this study, we considered Microcredit as an independent variable and Livelihood as a dependent variable. There are four independent variables as repayment, lending, interest rate, time and four dependent variables as poverty, education, saving, family size which are used to examine the percentage analysis on the basic background of women’s livelihood. The study has covered primary data and analyzed the data by women’s descriptive statistics, correlation and regression models. Correlation and regression analysis is used to find out the relationship and strength between microcredit and women livelihood. According to the results of regression coefficient it presented the specification of four variables (lending, repayment, interest rate, time) and reveled the ability to predict decision-making (R2=0.164). The respective R2 value is 0.164 denotes that 16% of the observed variability in women’s livelihood can be explained by the differences in all independent variables. The finding of the research is both variables have a positive coefficient, which means microcredit increases with the increasing level of interest rate and repayment.","PeriodicalId":270163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management & Business Administration","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129331332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"How to Improve Productivity through a Goal-Oriented Approach?","authors":"Waqar Ali, Waqas Ali","doi":"10.59075/jemba.v1i1.64","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.59075/jemba.v1i1.64","url":null,"abstract":"Background: The traditional management procedures of organisations fail to impart the motivation among employees to exceed their productive capacities in today's information-based work mode environment. In this regard, the goal orientation theory proposes that individuals pursue two unique types of objectives, namely, learning and performance goals. The relationship between goal orientation and performance in various organisational contexts has been studied extensively. Method: The recent study was conducted by following the procedures of interpretivism and inductive approach. Qualitative research was carried out to gather data from various human views and perspectives such that semi-structured interviews were carried out to examine the role of goal-oriented approach for productivity. Convenience sampling was used to conduct interviews from 10 managers and the data was analysed using the method of thematic analysis. Findings: According to the findings of the study, a goal-oriented strategy is seen to be one that only focuses on matching business goals with individual ambitions. Furthermore, it should be noted that not everyone is in favour of employing this strategy if it is not mandated by the organisation. Employee's productivity is inextricably linked to their goal orientation. Employees that are oriented on a certain goal develop tunnel vision, which is good for avoiding hyper-fixation on problems. Individual learning motivation is commonly used to students in terms of creating short-term and long-term goals. Recommendations for Further Research: In the future, it is suggested that the researcher do research employing a quantitative analytic technique. Furthermore, data gathering in the future can be done in numerical format, allowing for surveys of a large population with findings presented in the form of tables and figures. The researcher should also do a comparison examination of the two organisations that utilise goal-oriented techniques.","PeriodicalId":270163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management & Business Administration","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114953687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
