That fact is why operators use a shared infrastructure with one fiber for more customers in a split ratio. Deploying a passive optical network requires capital, but the operators can use a simulation tool to verify the physical layer parameters. The higher layers are less relevant for operators than for researchers. In this paper, we provide a basic simulation topology with downstream and upstream services. In real networks, the services control optical line termination (OLT), but in a simulation, it requires a router after optical line termination. We demonstrate a comparison of the time and memory complexity for low-rate services in 10G passive optical networks with different split ratios in Network Simulator 3 (NS-3).","PeriodicalId":269539,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Fiber Optics in Access Networks (FOAN)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129435586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, the market share is presented, as well as the impact that competition, government and the regulatory authority have on Kosovo's wireline market. In the Kosovo market there are three main players, followed by some local internet service providers. Even though copper-based networks, such as twisted-pair and coaxial cable networks, dominate Kosovo's wireline access topology, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is not new to Kosovo's market. However, its deployment has been very limited and the expansion of FTTH topology until the past couple of years only involved the connection of business clients. Kosovo operators have been deploying the FTTH architecture mostly in the form of point-to-point (P2P) solutions for business clients for more than a decade, and the number of customers was very limited. In the past three years, two of the main operators (IPKO Telecommunication and Telekomi i Kosoves) have been more active with the deployment of the FTTH architecture in the form of the point-to-multipoint (P2MP) solution, with gigabit passive optical network (GPON) technology being the preferred architecture.","PeriodicalId":269539,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Fiber Optics in Access Networks (FOAN)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128219044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we examined Software Defined Wide Area Network solution, its architecture and benefits of use. In order to analyze benefits of using SD-WAN two scenarios are compared: (i) Policy-based routing on WAN links in classical IP/MPLS network, and (ii) Using SDN controller to manage traffic on WAN links. The proposed structure comprises three layers, out of which odd layers are considered to be an InAs compound semiconductor having thickness of 700nm each whereas an even layer is air having thickness of 300 nm. Additionally, the effect of concentration variation of sucrose is theoretically examined with reference to reflected intensity, diffraction loss and transmitted intensity at the aforementioned waveguide. Reflected intensity from the said structure is computed through band gap analysis by a manipulating finite difference time domain (FDTD) technique, whereas diffraction loss and transmitted intensity are computed through numerical formulations. Further, simulation for diffraction loss with respect to different sucrose concentration has been carried out and interestingly the upshots revealed logarithmic deviation of diffraction efficiency with reference to variation in sucrose concentration from 10 gm/100ml to 70 gm/100ml. Apart from this, it is also revealed that there exists noteworthy shifts in both reflected as well as transmitted intensity with rise in sucrose concentration. Additionally, it is affirmed that both reflected light intensity and transmitted light intensity can be nicely fitted with a precise linear relationship having R2=0.998 and R2=0.9919 respectively, which claim an accurate sensing of sucrose concentration by using the proposed semiconductor based photonic waveguide and find applications in biophotonics.","PeriodicalId":269539,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Fiber Optics in Access Networks (FOAN)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127867219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several approaches using lasers and photodetectors with different characteristics give a detailed insight into the potential and utility of the optical mixing of two optical waves to generate a radio-frequency reference source. A low-phase-noise radio-frequency signal is observed by a signal-source analyzer because the two lasing modes share the same gain medium in the few-centimeters-long cavity and the relative phase irregular shifting fluctuations between the two wavelengths are low. The observed phase noise below −100 dBc/Hz at the offset of 1 kHz from the continuous-wave tone at the central frequency of 723 MHz indicates that the dual-mode-cavity gas laser efficiently suppresses the wavelength fluctuations between the lightwave modes, enabling a stable radio-frequency signal to be generated.","PeriodicalId":269539,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Fiber Optics in Access Networks (FOAN)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130804863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The maximum frequency of transmission is 1 MHz, but system enables simulation of frequencies up to 10 GHz. Except main parameters measurement and evaluation it is also possible to transmit code words and evaluate the correctness of transmission.
