Being a new form of virus, there is no proven vaccine for this. It has become the greatest challenge since World War 2. In cases of critical stage, when conventional mainstream medicine is at the forefront, it is necessary to look over its preventive aspect through alternative sciences and collaborate with other effective medical sciences. The modern science focuses on interventions based on disease causing agents and immunize against it. Ayurveda’s extensive knowledge based on preventive care includes interventions which enhance the body’s natural defense system for maintaining optimum health. Our objective of this literature review is to understand the role of ayurvedic herbal medicines to combat this viral infection with their role in enhancing immunity, role of various Dincharya procedures in prophylaxis against this virus and role of Yoga, Pranayama and meditation in improving the pulmonary functions and in making the immune system strong.\u0000Keywords: COVID-19; SARS-CoV-2, Dincharya, Ayurveda, Pandemic, Immunity, Pranayama.","PeriodicalId":269166,"journal":{"name":"Feb - Mar 2021","volume":"206 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115784384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shataponaka (Vataja) Bhagandara which is having Nidana, Samprapthi, Pur- varupa, Rupa. Acharya Sushruta explained Shastra Karma with 4 unique incisions to avoid complication. The same procedure can be correlated to fistulotomy and fistulectomy which is told in Fistula-in-ano. Dysmenorrhoea among adolescents is of primary in nature that is without any pelvic pathology. Among Vimshati yonirogas described in Ayurveda classics Udavarta is men- tioned as a condition with painful and difficult menstruation, so it can be correlated to primary dysmenorrhoea. In this condition the Rajas flow in reverse direction hence the term Udavartini. Women feel immediate relief following discharge of menstrual blood. Normal menstrual flow is the function of Apana vata therefore Apana vata dushti can be considered as the responsible factor for Udavarta. Because of the high prevalence of dysmenorrhoea in adoles- cents and extent of its potential daily interference it should be seriously taken into consideration. It has its own basic concepts like Dosha, Dhatu, Mala, Agni etc. Ama is also one of them. It plays a major role in Dhatu (Dosha, Dhatu, Mala) Vaishmya (vitiation) and production of various diseases in the body. According to Ayurveda Mandagni (hypofunctioning of digestive fire) is the basic cause of all diseases. Ama is considered as Apakwa Ahara Rasa (unripe, undigested or partially digested food) which is pro- duced due to Mandagni. Further it circulates all over the body through Srotas (channel of circulation) causes Sroto- vaigunya (vitiation in channel of circulation) and plays a major role in manifestation of various diseases. Dosha, Dhatu and mala vitiated by Ama are known as Sama Dosha, Sama Dushya and Sama Mala. If the treatment principle of disease is planned by understanding the concept of Sama and Niram, it would give a better result. In this review article the concept of Ama is described from different Ayurvedic Smahitas and texts.\u0000Keywords: Concept of Ama, Sama, Niram, Agni.","PeriodicalId":269166,"journal":{"name":"Feb - Mar 2021","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116709963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
