The Design, that proposes generalization mechanisms, combines benefits of quantitative and qualitative methods: ISO 27005, OCTAVE-S and MAGERIT contribute with qualitative techniques; IFRS supports a quantitative technique to estimate impact over assets subject to risk. The Evaluation is done applying model in two Ecuadorian SMEs of automotive sector. The case study allows concluding that model requires a reasonable effort, and involves business executives and operational staff with no greater ICT specialization; in addition, shows the technical and operational applicability. Thus, the work provides a practical tool formally developed, according to DSR approach and using complementary methods. The solution includes components not explicitly integrated in technical literature, and a proposal to promote generalizing its validity.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"222 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115819987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The PSAP needs to know at least the location of the accident. The main communication network used to transfer data to the PSAP from the in-vehicle emergency system is the internet or by using normal calls. Therefore, if the user is unconscious or has no access to the internet, the emergency message cannot be completed and the mobile operator cannot exchange data with the PSAP. In this paper, a solution is proposed to use the control channel instead of the data channel to receive emergency messages from the vehicle. The main advantages of this solution are that the connection between the user and the PSAP is always available and the message will transmit even if the user is unconscious.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122272006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the growing needs of information generated by IoT devices in everyday lives, the development of effective transmission technology on notification service is inevitable. In this paper, we propose an efficient feedback scheme to enhance the performance of notification system. The proposed approach capitalizes a new notion of feedback interval time to maximize the service efficiency by preventing from delivering unnecessary notification. The simulation result shows that the service performance is improved by reducing wasted notifications and average transmission time compared to the existing scheme.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115485471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, higher education is typically related to country development. Here both views were included to analyze productivity. ICT skills in higher education and research institutions were addressed with the research output by different countries, considering ITU rankings from 20 to 105. The motivation of the present exploration of research in ICT was done considering to education and development expenditure, patents and general ICT in South-America (SA) to support domestic innovation and productivity. Different exponential trends were found in research output and not significant regression of the patents in the different countries explored. Colombia has shown the greatest increase in the number of Patents and Research output in ICT, although Brazil, Peru and Chile have better economy growth. But, not clear multilinear regression of the three factors was found for SA countries across years. Therefore, according to ITU data available a drop in ICT rankings from South-American countries were found, meaning some problems in the policies and effort made by them in the last decade. Finally, education and productivity were discussed based on the different results explored and the conflicting policies towards innovation and industrial property ICT. Along this work, a discussion was done around the reasons why ICT sector had not improved, neither the ICT education nor the problems at innovation rates in patents.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121307538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to resolve this problem of dramatic traffic growth, the next-generation mobile networks are also expected to achieve a one thousand-fold capacity enhancement as compared to the prevailing generation of mobile communication. In this research work, it has been shown through the simulation study that how the Data Interleaving Technique in Mobile Communication (DITMC) can aid in achieving such capacity or bandwidth enhancement (up-to an extent) with both speech and data communication in mobile communication. It has been investigated through simulation study that DITMC technique exhibits 47.32% channel utilization enhancement in the case of speech/voice (samples) communication. The DITMC technique is expected to be the most frequently employed technique in both real and non-real time transmission systems for increasing the system capacity based on analysis and simulation. The analysis indicates that the major contribution to the channel utilization enhancement in Mobile Communication i.e. wireless environment is obtainable through the Data Interleaving technique with almost negligible overhead and 2 bytes delay which is also hardly noticeable by the receiving side as far as the real time voice data is concerned. This research paper proposes a simulation as well as comparative study of efficient DITMC technique for speech as well as data communication of the mobile network.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128983164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The suggested system for the purpose of predicting student performance applied in this study is carried out in two major phases. In the first phase, the feature space is searched to reduce the feature numbers and prepare the conditions for the next phase. This task is carried out using several dimension reduction techniques. Afterwards, a subset of features is chosen for the classification phase. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed technique based on PSO could improve the accuracy performance and achieve promising results with a limited number of features. The present study will also promote the future investigation of evaluating the proposed approach over other student performance datasets and test other optimizations and classification algorithms.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125866011","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The major proportion of these taxes is incurred on Govt. consumption expenditures that are mainly in form of public procurement. The information of public procurements is spread out in form of tenders through print and electronic media. The best strategy is to device a tradeoff between spending on public procurement advertisement and quality of information to suppliers. This will not only to enhance cost effectiveness but also an alternative to achieve economies of scale as well. But reality is different, efficient and economical public procurement is a burning issue in underdeveloped countries. This could be settled through effective strategies and use of information and communication technologies. In Pakistan, Public Procurement Rules (PPRA) 2004 are followed and adopted by Federal owned Govt. entities. In these rules certain financial limits are assigned for selection of the medium of advertisement for tenders. Section 12(2) of Public Procurement Rules of Pakistan 2004 relates to advertisement of tenders which states that: “All procurement opportunities over two million rupees should be advertised on the Authority's website as well as in other print media or newspapers having wide circulation. The advertisement in the newspapers shall principally appear in at least two national dailies, one in English and the other in Urdu” First, it is analyze whether the current tender advertisement structure is cost effective compare to SAARC countries Secondly, the tender notices are published for vendors/suppers/contractors information about tender requirements; whether the vendors search newspaper or PRRA website or other electronic medium for getting information about tenders.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129804937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the increase in the number of people using social networks, there is a lot of research on using social networks to use less resources, such as centralities. We adopt the centralities such as degree, closeness, betweenness, and percolation to forwarding schemes for opportunistic networks. In these schemes, each node forward a message through only `hub nodes' selected by the centralities as relay nodes and these nodes send to the destination nodes. The experimental results show that the centrality based forwarding schemes improve the performance in terms of network traffic, transmission delay and hop count.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131606771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In online algorithms, participants arrive to execute the algorithm at any time and exit from the algorithm when his/her allocation is given. We assume that the total value of the whole goods is the same for every participant. In cake-cutting algorithms for divisible goods, immediately envy-free has been defined as the desirable property. The property means that for any participants, any other participants who arrive after and depart before the participant obtain no more value than the participant. However, it is difficult for online allocation algorithms for indivisible goods to satisfy immediately envy-free. Therefore we propose a weakly immediately envy-free algorithm, which means that participants do not value goods allocated to participants who arrived later but departs earlier than them, more than their own. Our algorithm aims to maximize the worst obtained value among all participants. We show that this problem involves an NP-complete problem. Thus, it is very difficult to always output an optimal solution. We propose an approximation algorithm and prove its approximation ratio.","PeriodicalId":268061,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Information Communication and Management (ICICM)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127728668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
