The purpose of this system is developing an auxiliary source of energy for portable information and communication technologies devices (ICTs). The SAPS was implemented from a 20 Wp foldable photovoltaic generator and a 5200 mAh Ion-Lithium battery bank linked to a netbook from the Programa Conectar Igualdad of Argentina (PCI). The model validation was carried out through experimental results obtained by testing a specific application of this type of systems. The results demonstrate an optimization of the equipment fed by the system (netbook), increasing autonomy by 5 hours on a clear day in a month of winter in the city of Corrientes, Argentina. By comparing the theoretical and experimental results it was possible to verify an adequate development of the system for the specific application and the utility of the model as a systems design tool for this type of applications","PeriodicalId":267301,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exhibition - Latin America (T&D-LA)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125854515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is therefore of interest to estimate the conditions and remaining lives of conductors in order to facilitate maintenance and replacement planning. In the coast of Perú, the humidity, sea winds, weather conditions caused by Southern pacific anticyclone are factors for the fast degradation of the overhead lines conductors by corrosion effects, due to it, the replacement of many kilometers of electric conductors requires a deep analysis, it starts with the determining condition or health, because, it requires considerable investments. This research has obtained the main characteristics for determinate the electrical and special tests needed, for a diagnosis and remaining life of these kind of assets with Health index process. The effectiveness of the assessment is measured by comparing it to a condition evaluation that is based on detailed, quantitative laboratory testing. The use of life curves for different geographical regions facilitates the process of determining remaining life. Estimated lives based on the simple and more comprehensive assessments, as well as based on chronological age, they have been compared for different geographical regions and overhead lines conductors.","PeriodicalId":267301,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exhibition - Latin America (T&D-LA)","volume":"283 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122537407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is therefore of great importance that power systems engineering students have a robust understanding of computing and learn how to code. This paper discusses how Python can be an adequate programming language for education and research on power system analysis. This is accomplished by the analysis of a power transmission system from the perspectives of: (i) formation of bus admittance matrix, (ii) state estimation and (iii) fault studies. For each example, a simple vectorized Python 3 code, along with its basic concepts and functions highlighted, is presented. Additionally, the main results of interest are plotted to show the ability of Python in producing publication quality 2D and 3D plots.","PeriodicalId":267301,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exhibition - Latin America (T&D-LA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123546743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a complete, comprehensive and integrated situational awareness (information) of the dynamic state of the overall grid is lacking due to not enough sensing devices in critical location. The results obtained for the design of the new grid with this participation are incorporated into the network planning process with different types of DG power plants and DR in their demand nodes, compared with the base case of demand obtained in the case of a network without changes in their consumption patterns neither DG incorporation. For the planning process of the new network in either cases, the classic Distribution Network Planning methodology was used, which is based on the classic economic theory of Minimum Total Cost (MTC) through which the Investment Plan of the Distribution Network of the Electrical Distribution Company is drawn up. The solutions obtained guarantee the supply of the power and energy demand of its customers at all times (all scenarios), minimizing the total cost equation and complying with the physical design constraints during the network planning horizon of 20 years. A genetic algorithm (GA) was used to search for the optimal solution (minim total cost) in a technical-economic point of view of the electricity network.","PeriodicalId":267301,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exhibition - Latin America (T&D-LA)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133382525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
