To address this problem, a strategic random walk routing for protecting source location privacy (SRWSLP) in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is proposed in this article. The proposed technique routes the packets from the source node to the base station (BS) using three phases of routing, namely: i) adaptive backward random walk (A-BRW), ii) adaptive equal depth routing (A-EDR), and iii) forward random walk (FRW). In order to give an impression to a backtracking attacker that the routing pathways are dynamic, the A-BRW and A-EDR phases are designed to carefully route the packets away from the source node in the first two phases of routing. In the third phase, the packets are sent to the base station (BS) using the forward random walk. The objective of the solution is to achieve improved privacy and network lifetime without affecting delay. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed technique performs better than the existing random walk class of SLP techniques.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132861961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First of all, an improved single scattering path identification algorithm which is used to identify whether two scattering paths is from the same scatterer based on line-of-possible-mobile-device (LPMD) line is proposed, then the scattering paths from the same scatterer at different BSs are grouped and the scatterer is located by these paths and BSs, at last, the located scatterers are utilized as virtual base stations to take part in the localization of mobile. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the localization accuracy of mobile station, which is close to the accuracy acquired in line-of-sight (LOS) environments.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132289527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relay is assumed to be provisioned with data buffer and energy storage to store data and the collected energy from source. The stochastic channel estimate error model with realistic estimation variance is employed to characterize the influence of the practical channel estimate error. The throughput maximization problem was formulated to derive the practical buffer-aided relaying scheme with imperfect channel state information (CSI). Our analysis unveils that, by explicitly taking CEE into account, buffer-aided relaying scheme still outperforms the non-buffer-aided relay counterpart with ideal CSI assumption. The notable advantages in terms of the realized end-to-end throughput performance and the robustness against the CEE confirm us that, buffer-aided adaptive relaying design provides us a feasible wireless relaying scheme that can be deployed in practical applications.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124659912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this paper is to raise the awareness and inform the users about the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) associated with Known Exploited Vulnerabilities that might affect users of the products by gathering data from the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) and CVE details from 2017 to Present. We built a system using Python and CVE Analyzer, which allow users to search for specific CVE records based on CVE ID, vendors, products, published date and the last updated date and export rows of data based on the filtered keyword. We also analyze the overall frequency of CVE records each year regarding Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base metric trends, the vendors, and products with the most ransomware vulnerabilities. Our findings show that the frequency of all ransomware vulnerabilities increased from 2019 to 2021. Also, the number of high CVSS score of CVE records associated with ransomware is higher than those with low CVSS scores. Apple and Microsoft are the top vendors with the most exploited ransomware vulnerabilities, and IOS and Windows 10 are the products with the highest vulnerable versions by Apple and Microsoft. Our system can help users to prevent and mitigate the impact of ransomware attacks using datasets and data analysis.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124972098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem of maximizing the throughput performance of the throughput traffic subject to age of information (AoI) constraint for status update is formulated. By solving the problem under the Lyapunov optimization frame-work, adaptive buffer-aided wireless relaying scheme is obtained, in which link transmission selection, transmission scheduling of mixed status update and throughput traffic, as well as transmit power and transmission rate by source node and relay node, will be jointly adjusted in order to maximize the long-term averaged throughput performance according to the underlying channel state information (CSI), the buffer state information (BSI), the energy-consumption status information (ESI) of all nodes, as well as the AoI status information (ASI) of the status update traffic. Our analysis unveils that, the AoI service requirement by status update traffic has a significant impact on the achievable throughput performance of the throughput traffic. Now the achievable end-to-end throughput performance will be dependent on the arrival rate, the AoI constraint by the status update traffic. Meanwhile, unlike the adaptive buffer-aided relaying scheme with pure throughput traffic, now there exists an optimal Lyapunov control parameter $V$ in terms of the realized throughput performance.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129798538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While facing this problem, the purpose of this paper is to classify American isolated sign language video by modeling pose, hands and face keypoints representation. Specifically, this paper introduces a novel framework whose main components are the altered Dense Predictive Coding (DPC) pre-trained model and the Encoder pre-trained model. The DPC model is trained using self-supervised learning to obtain representation of pose and hands keypoints. The Encoder model is trained using supervised learning to obtain representation of face keypoints. Combining the altered DPC model with image inductive biases and the Encoder model with a self-attention mechanism, the final combined model achieves 0.81 on the test set of the ISAL dataset, outperforming the current open-source solution by a significant margin.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123323104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The plasma simulations of fusion devices demand a kinetic approach to handle extreme nonlinearities methods. One of the most used plasma kinetic simulation codes is the Particle-In-Cell (PIC). The HPC systems worldwide are getting more powerful with the combination of CPU, GPU, and other accelerators (e.g., FPGAs and Quantum Processors). Moreover, we can already notice that several exascale machines are operational worldwide; one typical example is the Frontier (Oak Ridge National Laboratory) exascale machine. In parallel, the same effort is being made for scientific algorithms to use robust HPC systems efficiently. Many programming frameworks (e.g., OpenACC, OpenMP offloading, and SYCL) mainly offer excellent support portability to the existing scientific codes to use the exascale HPC systems. This work demonstrates hybrid and multiple GPUs capabilities (or portability) for Simple Particle-In-Cell (SIMPIC) based on the PIC algorithm. First, we have implemented the hybrid (MPI+OpenMP) portability and multiple GPUs (multiple node GPU with the help of MPI) offloading portability. The first implementation gains a speed up to 40% compared to the plain MPI version, and the second implementation achieves up to 40% speedups compared to the hybrid (MPI+OpenMP) implementation.","PeriodicalId":266168,"journal":{"name":"2023 8th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121672688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
