Biological science that is taught in most learning institutions has been secular in nature. Almost all of the biological processes, theories and principles are taught without referring to Islamic concept. The teaching of Qur'an is separated from the teaching of Biological science. Thus, many Muslim students and teachers have kept on patronizing secular curriculum of the west. Hence, this research work spelled out the relevant and applicable Qur’anic verses to Biology, assessed why Biological teachings of Islam should be a part of the curriculum in the university, and determined the perception and level of awareness of the students and teachers on the relevance of certain Biological concept and Islamic context. \u0000This study was conducted at the Mindanao State University - Sulu. This research was both qualitative and quantitative since the findings were based on theories, Qur’anic verses, interviews and percentage computation. \u0000Based on the findings, there were many Qur-anic verses dealing with Biological sciences, and these verses were relevant and applicable to Biology. Specifically on sex determination which deals with the sex of organism. The verse is “He bestows female upon whom He wills, and bestows male upon He wills (Qur’an, 42:49), also, has He taken daughters out of what He has created, and He has selected for your son? (Qur’an, 43:16). And made of him two sexes, male and female (Qur’an, 75:39). Another, We have created you in pairs, male and female (Qur’an, 78:8). This verse is also relevant to the function of gene which determines the two contrasting traits. On order, a characteristic of life which refers to the organization and precise arrangement of structure of organism is related to this verse, Allah shaped and fashioned him in due proportion (Qur’an, 75:38). On adaptation in which the organism must undergo changes to survive. Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of organisms as long as they do not change themselves (Qur’an, 13:11). \u0000Regarding perceptions and awareness, almost all the participants were aware and agreed on the relevance of Biological science to Islam. The results revealed that some of the Biological theories, principles and process are relevant and applicable to Qur’anic verses. However, the researcher recommended that there is a need for the Biological teaching of Islam to be part of the curriculum in the university in order to avoid confusion on Biological concept and Islamic context. \u0000 The Holy Qur-an contain verses relevant and applicable to Biological concept. Most of the respondents have agreed and believed on both Biological and Islamic concepts as reflected on the findings above. Therefore, integration of Islamic concept in teaching Biology is necessary.

This study was conducted for the purpose of gathering facts and information about procrastination and how it affected the students in academic aspect. This study aimed to accomplish the following objectives: to determine the effect of procrastination on the learning productivity, to discover the factors that cause procrastination, and to identify if there is any significant difference of academic procrastination on the learning productivity of the respondents when they are grouped according to gender. The researchers used descriptive research method in gathering data. Convenience sampling was applied to select the respondents composing of 50 students from all section of Grade 12 STEM strand. Weighted arithmetic mean and independent t-test are the statistical tools used to answer the entire research question. The data gathered was computed using a computer programming called Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and analyzed and interpreted with aide of the statistician. In view of the findings and analysis, the following recommendation are hereby presented, students must set deadlines to be more productive and should eliminate distraction when doing school works; parents must not fail to monitor the academic tasks of their children. Parental motivation, guidance, and advice would be much help in light of the modular learning in order to motivate and boast the students to do their work; and teachers alongside student leaders must initiate a seminar addressing time management to overcome procrastination among students.

Research says that 95% of American students purposely delay beginning or completing tasks and 70% engaged in academic procrastination. It is not impossible that Filipinos are actually expert in procrastination. In other words, procrastination largely accounts for the relationship of conscientiousness to performance, and that procrastination is strongly associated with distractibility, poor organization, low achievement motivation, and an intention-action gap. If one is not conscientious in his performance he will likely engage in procrastination. Additionally, agreeableness and sensation seeking traits generated low correlations with procrastination. One possible way to decrease procrastination for tasks is to increase expectancy of success, or self- efficacy by verbal persuasion, emotional arousal, and modeling. Despite of the advances in the education nowadays, and the challenging tasks that students faced day by day to cope up with the requirements of their respective courses, they are still in the realm of seemingly taking their studies for granted that as if it’s easy or simply put, procrastinating!
