Young children are more prevalent to have mucocele but can also affect all the age groups. Clinical findings are used to make the majority of diagnoses. If a mucocele is left untreated, it leads to scar tissue formation and can be painful, especially in the case of deep mucoceles. A 12-year-old female patient came to the department with the complaint of swelling on the right side inner aspect of the lower lip that had been present for 1 year. Clinical examination revealed a soft, well-defined, non-tender, raised solitary, pale-colored, and nodular growth with a smooth surface on the labial mucosa between the vermillion border of the lower lip and the labial sulcus. It was roughly 1 × 1 cm in size. The diagnosis was made as a mucocele. A conventional surgical excision procedure was selected for the case due to the low risk of recurrence. It was performed with a scalpel and the excised mucocele clearly demonstrated extravasation type mucocele. In a 6-month follow-up, the lesion had regressed entirely with no recurrence. The surgical removal of the lesion, as well as the associated minor salivary gland, managed to produce satisfactory results.","PeriodicalId":265132,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Dental Practice and Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127882812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adding more burdens to such a challenging situation, mucormycosis is an angioinvasive, fulminant fungal infection has seen a sudden raise in patients with COVID-19. Mucormycosis commonly affects the patients with compromised immunity. Early diagnosis, elimination of the predisposing factor, and antifungal therapy along with surgical debridement are the key factors responsible for successful treatment and patient survival. Mucormycosis is presented by various clinical forms. This paper reviews about the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and various treatment modalities for managing mucormycosis patients.","PeriodicalId":265132,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Dental Practice and Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131158378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Liver cirrhosis and liver carcinoma are primarily caused by this condition. In 2019, Hepatitis B resulted in an estimated 1.5 million new infections and 820,000 deaths mostly due to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. There are “n” number of ways, in which infections can be triggered in a Dentists Chamber through direct or indirect contact with human blood, secretions, and aerosols. To reduce the hepatitis infection in their community, the aim of this research is to raise awareness among dental clinicians. Several elements connected with compliance to the hepatitis vaccination were not known by dentists, which placed them among the high-risk groups. Dental professionals can play a significant role in preventing hepatitis by recognizing that every patient has the potential to transmit the disease. For the prevention of this viral infection, sterilization, and prophylactic vaccination routine should be adhered properly. Our search keywords included hepatitis, dental, liver disease, and infection control from online databases such as ProQuest, PubMed, and Medline. In addition to online databases, we searched various journals and books by hand. The focus of this review was only on highly relevant English literature.","PeriodicalId":265132,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Dental Practice and Research","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127002877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The treatment option adopted has a significant impact on the level of quality with which the goal can be achieved. For edentulous patients, implant-supported fixed restorations are a well-established treatment modality. Implant dentistry philosophies and procedures have evolved and changed over time to give improved esthetics and functional outcomes. Immediate loading has various advantages over traditional loading without sacrificing the quality of the output. An immediate fixed provisional promotes a high level of patient satisfaction with respect to esthetics, phonetics, mastication, and psychological comfort, enabling patients to return to their normal routine and maintain quality of life within a short period of time. In this case report, immediate implant placement in recent extraction sockets was followed by immediate loading with all-on-six implants with multi-unit abutments within 24 h.","PeriodicalId":265132,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Dental Practice and Research","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122201065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
